Chapter 909
The next day, Nicole was woken up from her dreams in the morning as a makeup artist and a designer had arrived
to doll her up. While yawning, she forced her eyelids open as she sat down, but she was so tired that her entire
body was numb. When she grabbed her phone to look at the time, she noticed that it wasn't even five in the
morning. As such, she subconsciously frowned. Is there a need to be this hasty?
After the matter was settled the night before, the Goulds had been hectic preparing the venue for the engagement
between the Goulds and the Gardners. They replaced every belonging of Evelyn with that of Nicole. After all,
Jackson intended to hold a press conference this morning to announce his acknowledgment of Nicole as well as the
engagement of her and Colton, thereby connecting the two matters. With such a packed schedule, one would
certainly have to wake up early in the morning.

awake. Still, she would sleazily yawn while tears surged in the corner of her eyes as she reluctantly sat before the
makeup table and waited for the makeup artist to beautify her visage.
Since the morning was for the press conference, there was no need for her to overdress. Thus, she sported a black
dress that she had designed in the past. The design of the black dress was inspired by that of a bodycon dress, yet
it was distinctive as the sides of the skirt were split open, revealing her slender, snowy thighs.
The makeup artist assigned to her was truly professional. She merely applied simple ornaments to her face, yet it
greatly accentuated her classiness. A pin was stuck onto her wavy hair, making it seem significantly puffy. Widening
her sleepy eyes, she peered at her reflection as though she became an entirely different person. Back when she
worked as a Chief Designer, she had attended several big events, but the makeup put on her this time was of
utmost fineness. There weren't many cosmetics applied on her, yet it allowed her face to exude extreme elegance.
By the time they were done with all that work, the sun had already risen, and that was when Nicole stylishly walked
downstairs.
On the other hand, the Wrenns were also finished with their preparation and they were now having their breakfast
at the dining table. When Nicole was coming downstairs, they instinctively turned to her. Awkwardly lifting her skirt,
she slowly descended the stairs.
Gabriel warmly smiled at her, and he wasn't stingy with his compliment. "The outfit suits you."
"Thank you." Nicole took a seat at the table, but Evelyn was nowhere to be found.
"The press conference will begin in an hour. Don't be nervous. We've informed the other party of everything, so
there won't be any unpleasant questions," Siobhan stated.
In response, Nicole nodded. Since the events she had participated in most were press conferences, she wasn't
actually nervous.

"Come grab a seat and eat up. We'll leave in twenty minutes."
Nicole obediently sat down. The breakfast was of Asian cuisine, along with a few side dishes. The taste was pretty
good. Nevertheless, she didn't eat much and only had enough to satisfy her hunger.
Precisely twenty minutes later, Jackson got up from his seat.
Although it wasn't even nine yet, the venue of the conference was already crowded and swarming with people, as
nearly all reporters from the entire city were present, each and every one of them eager to seize the opportunity to
report the news.
Nonetheless, thanks to the host's commendable crowd work, the scrambling crowd was easily brought under
control as soon as he got up the stage. Once he was finished with the introductions, Jackson took over the stage.
The crowd held their breaths as they looked up at the stage at the same time. They were all extremely curious
about why the engagement ceremony of Evelyn and Colton would require a press conference in the morning, and
they couldn't help but wonder if some changes were made to the ceremony.
"Morning, all. I have gathered you today as I have important news to announce." Jackson spoke with a low voice. As
he had spent years as a high-ranking officer in the army, his voice evoked obeisance from the crowd.
