After Nicole left with Hayden, Zachary was left alone in the large house. He sat on the sofa in a mild daze, his head

and she felt like a wicked person who took advantage of other people's affection. However, she was unable to go
against her heart and say that she liked him. Zachary treated her well, but she always felt guilty for being unable to
reciprocate his feelings.
After that, Gabriel did not continue the conversation.
Once they arrived at Gould Residence, Rita could be seen waiting at the gates first thing in the morning. She
must've been told about Nicole's matter. After seeing Nicole getting out of the car, she came over, her sallow face
full of smiles as she held Nicole with one hand and looked her up and down.
In the end, she let out a gasp in astonishment. "I was wondering why she looked so familiar. So, you're my
granddaughter."
Feeling unsettled by her touch, Nicole froze and called out in a low voice, "Nice to meet you, Old Mrs. Gould."
Rita wasn't bothered by Nicole's way of addressing herself as she was too busy smiling from ear to ear. She
caressed the back of Nicole's hand with her palm and said emotionally, "I can't imagine how much suffering you've
suffered over the years. I've heard Gabriel talk about you a lot; that woman really is despicable!"
Gabriel smiled and didn't continue probing.

The servants helped unload all their luggage from the car, and the Gould Family arranged a spacious and well-
equipped room for her. Hayden was not only clever but also honey-mouthed, and he greeted his grandparents as

While Gabriel took Nicole around to familiarize herself with the Gould Residence, Hayden chattered continuously to
Siobhan, so she let him remain by her side.
After Nicole left, Hayden glanced around with his dark eyes as if something had occurred to him inadvertently and
asked, "Grandma, can you bring my daddy over too after some time? I miss my daddy."
