Chapter 891
A hint of worry flickered across Zachary's eyes. He screwed up his face a little, but he didn't say anything else in the
end. Looking down at Nicole's slightly weary face, he comforted her, saying, "This is up to you. If you want to
reunite with them, just go ahead and do it."
Nicole was somewhat at a loss for how to explain the situation. At the moment, she had no one to whom she could
pour out her troubles, so Zachary's arrival made her pour out all her grievances involuntarily.
Zachary seemed to notice her inner conflict. Taking the palm of her hand, he said as if reassuring her, "Nicole, if
you've got something to say, just say it. I'm not an outsider, anyway."
Nicole pursed her lips before shaking her head. She replied in a whisper, "I-I don't know either. I'm very confused
right now."

Nicole looked up at Zachary, whose gentle face was full of fondness as he looked at her. She bit her lip slightly. After
a while, she finally said with a choke in her voice, "My mom… Madeline took me away because of her selfishness
back then, but she at least looked after me in every way possible while raising me. That's why my feelings toward
her are complicated. I don't know whether I should hate her for what she did."
Zachary understood how she felt as he listened to her voice. Although Nicole appeared intelligent and resolute, she
was also acutely sensitive. There was no way for a daughter to forget about the emotional bond between her and
her mother after the latter had spent a dozen years raising her. Patting Nicole's slightly arched back, he replied
softly, "I understand. She did do something wrong back then, but she'd raised you for so many years. You two
depended on each other for survival and were very close, so you can't bring yourself to hate her."
Nicole put her hands over her face. That's what I mean. That was why her feelings were conflicted at the moment;
she didn't know what to say or what to do. Then, as if suddenly recalling something, she looked up at Zachary,
saying, "The Wrenns would like me to meet them this weekend."
"Are they going to acknowledge you as their daughter?" Zachary asked.
Nicole shook her head with a hint of confusion on her face, saying, "I don't know."
Zachary comforted her, saying, "It's alright. You've been through so many things, so how can you let such a trifle
trouble you? You'll know once you go and take a look. Whatever choice you make, I'm always on your side."
Hearing the man's comforting words, Nicole slowly calmed down. She nodded, saying, "Okay."
…
Over the past few days, Nicole had been on tenterhooks; she always looked very preoccupied.
This continued until the weekend.
She thought she looked unnatural in anything. In the end, she simply wore a white and blue suit that made her look

Zachary had been so busy over the past few days that she had almost only seen him during breakfast. Whenever
she saw him, he was dressed in a suit and leather shoes, probably to negotiate some business deals. Sensible as
she was, she didn't ask him about it.
She arrived at the location given by Gabriel. It wasn't at the Gould Residence; it was at a fancy hotel.
Seeing the room number shown on her phone, Nicole couldn't help feeling nervous. Although she had met the
Wrenns before, she would be meeting them in a different capacity this time. After taking a deep breath outside the
room, she pushed the door open and entered.
Those in the room seemed to be discussing something, but they fell silent the instant she came in.
Nicole looked at those in the room; all the members of the Wrenn Family were here.
Seeing Nicole come in, Evelyn immediately frowned in displeasure. Jumping to her feet, she fixed her gaze on
Nicole while asking in displeasure, "What are you doing here? You're not welcome here. Get the hell out of here!"
Faced with her threatening manner, Gabriel put out his hand to stop her. He rebuked, "Evelyn, don't be so rude!"
