Chapter 797
When Nicole returned home, she weakly sat down and leaned against the couch. Her face seemed abnormally pale
under the glow of the light above.
Hayden had returned with Zachary and was waiting for Nicole downstairs as well. When she arrived home, he
immediately ran over and tugged on a corner of her shirt while asking in concern, "Mom, are you feeling alright?"
Nicole nodded her head in reply, not wanting to let Hayden know about her taking a blood test lest he be worried
about her.
She raised her head slightly and shot a meaningful look at Zachary.
Zachary immediately understood what she was implying and picked Hayden up. He then urged, "Didn't you promise
me you would head to bed after your mom comes home? It's time you keep your promise."
Hayden felt worried when he saw Nicole hadn't come home, so he insisted on staying downstairs and refused to go

However, Nicole just had her blood drawn and wasn't feeling well. If Hayden found out about this, he would be
worried sick.
Understanding her intentions, Zachary smiled and explained to Hayden, "Your mom just came home from the
hospital, so she must be tired. You should hurry up and go to bed."
Hayden's bright eyes were fixed on Nicole as if he were trying to make something out just by looking at her face. At
that point, Nicole echoed Zachary's words and said, "That's right, Hayden. I was quite busy at the hospital, so I'm
quite tired. Let Zachary accompany you upstairs to wash up and go to bed. I'll play with you tomorrow. How does
that sound?"
Although her tone sounded gentle, a trace of weakness mixed in her voice.
Hayden pursed his lips for a moment before smiling and suggesting cutely, "Sure. Have a good rest, Mom. Let Mr.
Yates accompany you tonight. I can manage on my own."
After he said that, he immediately turned around and disappeared up the stairs.
Nicole waited until the boy's small figure disappeared entirely from her view before letting out a sigh of relief and
closing her tired eyes.
Perhaps it was because she had her blood drawn that she felt so tired and couldn't open her eyes. She desperately
wanted to take a good, long sleep.
Just like the gentle breeze in summer, her breathing was very light; it was to the point that it was almost inaudible.
Noticing her tired state, Zachary lightly furrowed his eyebrows while touching her forehead.
When Nicole felt a cold sensation on her forehead, she slightly lifted her eyelids and smiled faintly before asking in
a throaty voice, "What's the matter? Do I have a fever?"
While withdrawing his hand, he shook his head and answered, "No, your temperature seems normal."
After taking a glance at Zachary, Nicole tiredly closed her eyes again. Her long, curly eyelashes cast a distinct
shadow at the bottom of her eyes.

Meanwhile, Nicole wasn't asleep. Instead, she was meditating with her eyes closed. It took some time before she
slowly opened her eyes and rose to her feet. Noticing her condition, Zachary immediately grabbed her and
supported her while she found her footing.
She thanked him softly. "Thank you."
At that, Zachary frowned and stated firmly, "Don't strain yourself too much."
After resting for a bit, Nicole felt much better. Yet, she still looked pale as she nodded and replied, "I'll head upstairs
to rest. It's getting late, so you should go rest as well."
"Sure." Zachary nodded, but he didn't move and was still supporting her.
On the other hand, Nicole didn't refuse his help because her legs felt like jelly. It would do more harm than good if
she lost her footing and fell down the stairs.
Therefore, she leaned her body against him and slowly walked up the stairs.
Zachary didn't make any comment and left after sending her back to her room. Before closing the door, he gently
reminded her, "Have a good rest. Call me if you need anything and I'll come over immediately."
