Chapter 669
Nicole embraced Whitney, feeling a mixture of sadness and worry about what she had gone through. They had
worked together for so many years, so she knew Whitney's temperament like the back of her hand.
She reassured hoarsely, "When there's a will, there's a way. Give it some thought. Maybe a better option will
appear."
Whitney simply pursed her lips into a bleak smile and did not say anything in return.
Colton saw that Nicole and Whitney were catching up with each other, so he didn't bother them. Instead, he stood
to the side, holding a glass of wine and taking a few sips leisurely.
"Colton?" A crisp female voice suddenly resonated behind him.
He turned around and saw that it was Sasha.

energetic, much different from her usual sweet and gentle appearance.
"Hey," he greeted faintly, glanced at her attire, and did not bother to initiate a conversation.
Nevertheless, Sasha did not find this awkward as she continued, "I'm leading the security team today. I didn't
expect this event to be so grand."
He remained dispassionate as he held his wine glass and muttered, "Today is the trade fair, so there are quite a few
people here."
She quickly noticed that he wasn't interested in conversing with her, so she sensibly chose to excuse herself. Then,
she smiled and said with a slight wave, "I need to get going now. I need to see if there's anything unusual nearby."
As soon as she turned around, her smile disappeared, and she scowled. His attitude toward her was colder than she
imagined. Now, they seemed to be strangers who knew each other's names at most.
She clenched her fists tightly at that train of thought. I'm pissed! I don't like this! We used to be so in love! How did
we end up like this?!
But when Sasha thought of what she had arranged, she grinned cheerily. She sacrificed herself for Colton. Even if
he did not love her anymore, he would not abandon her.
Inside a hotel room at the downtown hotel, Douglas frowned slightly as he looked at Felicia and Jansen. Then, his
lips twitched slightly, and he asked respectfully, "Why are you here? Why do you want to see me?"
Felicia was so furious that she even wished that she could shoot lasers out of her eyes. Regardless, she gritted her
teeth and hissed, "Why are we here?! You have the nerve to ask why we are here?!"
She took out a stack of photos from her purse and threw them at Douglas.
He looked down and saw that it was him and Whitney in the photos. Some of them were taken when he hugged her
and walked out of the bar, while some were taken when they walked into the house together. Someone took all of

"Is there anything you want to say?" Felicia glared at him coldly.
He packed up all the photos. Instead of feeling flustered or awkward after being caught red-handed, he remained
unruffled. "No."
Douglas' indifference enraged Felicia further. She pointed at him and cursed indignantly, "What's with your
attitude?! You cheated on Em! Douglas, don't forget how miserable you were when Em helped you! Even if we took
in a dog back then, the dog would be more grateful than you were!"
Jansen frowned and clenched his fists tightly when Douglas confessed to the extramarital affair. However, he did
not bite Douglas' head off as Felicia did. Instead, he simply asked, "Can you break up with this woman?"
When she heard Jansen's compromise, she jerked her head and rebuked, "Are you crazy?! Do you really want your
daughter to be with this jerk?! What's so good about him anyway?!"
Jansen held the irritated Felicia and comforted her. This matter had also angered him, but he was a little more
rational than her.
"I don't want Em and Lucy to be sad." His firm and faint tone finally calmed Felicia down.
