Chapter 666

Queenie was already in a black mood. When she heard that the girl's mother wanted to compensate her, her tone

became even more pompous.

"Compensate?!" Queenie sized the woman up disdainfully and exclaimed shrilly, "Look at your pathetic self. Do you

think you can afford to compensate me?!"

Many people began to gather around them due to the commotion and Queenie's haughtiness. They even began to

chatter about Queenie's conceitful and unforgiving demeanor.

"Miss, why don't you just name a price?" the girl's mother asked.

"Name a price?! The dress is a limited edition piece! You can't buy it even if you have money!"

She was already annoyed, to begin with. But, now that she bumped into an outlet to vent her anger, she wasn't

going to let them leave so easily as she began to mock the woman harshly.

The girl, on the other hand, was not afraid at all. Instead, she stared straight at Queenie for a while before turning

and asking her mother, "Mom, isn't she the woman who did those embarrassing things at the birthday party the

other day?"

The girl's childish voice resonated across the crowd. Queenie's face flushed red in embarrassment, and wrath

burned in her eyes. She almost went up to slap the girl.

Yet, the girl fearlessly continued, "I remember! She held a wedding, but the groom didn't come! It was such a big

scandal at that time."

D*mn it! D*mn it!!

Queenie scowled in irritation. The child exposed the worst moment of her life in front of so many people. She

wished she could kill the girl right there and then!

After their audience heard the girl's words, the crowd instantly realized that Queenie was the one who caused a

fuss the other day and began to gossip louder among themselves.

Queenie's expression instantly darkened. She clenched her fists tightly and wanted to punch these people in the

face, but several people in the crowd had aimed their cameras at her to take pictures or even record the scene.

When she saw this, she quickly suppressed her rage and temper. In her current situation, she shouldn't do anything

insensible.

She glared at the girl and her mother and sneered, "Forget it! I don't want to waste my time with you!"

With that, she turned and stomped away in her high heels.

Even though she had left, the crowd did not disperse. Rather, they watched her as she left and ridiculed her about

those embarrassing moments because of what had happened just now.

She was utterly enraged because of the ice cream incident, so she was still up in arms when she finally arrived at

the cafe.

Lydia was startled to see Queenie so outraged and asked carefully, "What happened? Why are you so angry?"

Nevertheless, Queenie merely grabbed the napkin on the table to roughly wipe the ice cream stain on her dress

and hissed furiously, "Nothing! I bumped into some kid, that's all."

She sat down and ordered something to eat before saying, "Mom, Colton went to see Dad, didn't he?"

Lydia nodded in affirmation. "Yes. He came with Nicole and asked about the hit-and-run accident. What's going on?"

The news about Colton and Nicole going to see William together made Queenie's blood boil again. She intoned

deeply, "Dad and Madeline were together when Old Mrs. Gardner died."

When she said this, a trace of viciousness flashed in her eyes.

"I heard from William that Madeline was the one who hit Old Mrs. Gardner, and she even fled after the accident,"

Lydia confided while nodding lightly.

Queenie huffed in contempt, "Do you believe him?"

"No." Lydia shook her head and clasped her hands together. "I know Madeline. She was quite clumsy and stupid, but

she would not do something like this."

Queenie nodded and took out a stack of photos from her purse. "This is a photo after Dad and Madeline switched

seats. The one I sent to the Gardners was the one before they switched seats. Dad was the real murderer in the hit-

and-run accident."
