Now, Nadine was trying to disrupt his strategy before they even got anywhere. She was getting more and more unreasonable in her requests, not even considering Sean.
Brad didn't speak kindly to her. Aside from his cold and sarcastic tone, he gave her a frosty look. It was as though he was staring at a mother who didn't care about her child.

Hardly being involved in his life for the past six years?" Nadine could tolerate a lot of things. But being accused of not loving Sean was something she couldn't bear. How many times had Brad cared for Sean? Changed his diapers? Attended parent-teacher meetings? Nadine grew more agitated, and she looked like she was about to argue with Brad. Seeing that, he quickly interjected, "Let's just stick to the issue at hand and focus on today. Sean wants to win the competition." Brad didn't like bringing up the past. Revisiting old wounds served no purpose other than reminding them of the pain.
Noticing that Nadine was about to lose her temper, Sean quickly raised his hand, saying, "Yes, I want to win. Mommy, could you put up with it for a little bit longer- for me?" Since Nadine e had taken Sean to live with Avery, Nadine had almost never brought up. Brad. Avery had told Sean that Nadine was incrediblydisappointed in Brad and probably wouldn't see him again. So, Sean had to avoid mentioning Brad around Nadine.
Sean was curious, though. Wasn't Brad wonderful? How could he be horrible? But Avery told Sean not to question it and to just know that Nadine didn't like Brad.
Since then, Sean had never mentioned Brad in front of Nadine.
But deep down, Sean yearned for a father. He would secretly call Travis to take him to see Brad. Sean would always watch Brad from a distance, hiding to watch him without Brad knowing.
Just last night, Sean called Brad and found out that he'd be coming to join him for the family event today. Sean was so excited he couldn't sleep. He was fitted with anticipation, his mind full of the scenes of Brad spending twith him.

That look pierced Nadine's heart.
