"You're right! Thank you for the reminder. I would've missed out on this if you hadn't told me. Once I make the
money, I'll make sure to treat you to a good meal!"
After the betting area opened, a few people calculated how much they had won from the previous battle.
Most of them only managed to win a few thousand spirit crystals, but such an amount meant nothing in the eyes of
above-average warriors. It was possibly enough only for a single meal!
Even regular warriors thought it was a pitiful sum; they could not buy anything with this. Nonetheless, it was good
enough that they managed to make a profit out of it.
Lourain saw everyone standing up, and he looked over at Marth with a conflicted expression.
Marth happened to look over as well.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtTheir gazes met, and the thoughts in their heads were very evident. It was rather funny. The two of them had been
mortal enemies who wanted to kill each other, but as things slowly changed with time, their attitudes started to
change. After all, they were the only ones who could understand each other.
Marth raised an eyebrow and said in a low voice, "Just stand up. Why are you still hesitating? Didn't Jack place a bet
just now, too? Our bets are nothing at all."
Lourain sighed. "You sure make it sound easy. Why don't you stand up, then? Aren't you worried about offending
him, too? I didn't earn that much, so you probably didn't earn that much either. Of course, it's better than nothing. I
think I'll just wait for now, but I'd be happy to follow your lead if you go first."
Marth's lips twitched as a cold look flashed in his eyes. He had wanted Lourain to lead the way; at least he would
not look too guilty then. Yet, Lourain had not fallen for it at all. Lourain seemed to have gotten smarter.
Jack did not know what was happening between the two, but he would not care even if he did.
He turned to look at the bustling betting area before he stood up after thinking about it. He had planned on going
over when there were fewer people. He did not like crowded places. Furthermore, he had done a lot that would
invoke others' chagrin.
If he walked over, they would start pointing at him. Jack might not care, but he would still fight back if he heard
anything that crossed the line.
It was just like Hamish from before.
If that happened, he would end up wasting a lot of his time on pointless matters. Of course, he would still need to
walk past the spectating area once there were fewer people. If there were fewer people there, there would be
more people in the stands. It would not be that much different. Since that was the case, there was no reason to
delay things.
Jack stood up again, which garnered the eyes of many as they eyed him curiously.

"What's this guy doing now? Is he trying to pull something else again?"
"Who knows? He seems to be getting bolder with every move. Everything he does surprises us even more. I'm
actually looking forward to it a little."
"Stop guessing at random. Don't you see he's been looking at the betting area the whole time? Don't forget, this
guy placed a huge bet just now!"
The moment that was said, everyone realized what was happening.
It was true!
All of them had forgotten it.
The guy might have had a sharp tongue and went against the Star Continent with everything he said, but
everything he did render everyone dumbfounded. No matter how much he seemed to be against Percy and the
others, he still placed his bet on Percy.
