Yulia rolled her eyes at Estelle, completely at a loss for what to do with her.
One of the production companies behind the film, AnimeWorks, was represented today by the newly appointed
general manager, Lance, the boss’s son who had just returned from studying abroad.
He held a glass of wine, his gaze fixed on a particular direction in the banquet hall. A person next to him followed
his line of sight and chuckled, “Got your eye on the leading lady, huh? But Yulia’s no ordinary star, you might want
to steer clear of that one!”
“Yulia?” Lance’s eyes sparkled with intrigue, murmuring, “Is she the one in the blue sweater?”
The other person glanced over and immediately shook his head, “Nope, don’t recognize her!”
Lance felt an itch in his heart as he looked at the girl. He sidled up to Mr. Tucker and casually asked, “The girl in the

Mr. Tucker peered in that direction and promptly replied, “No, that’s Estelle, the costume designer for the crew.”
“She’s quite a looker. Why not scout her, Mr. Tucker?” Lance joked. “We could sign her to our company. I’d bankroll
her rise to fame!”
Mr. Tucker laughed, “Estelle isn’t cut out for this industry.”
Seeing Lance’s persistent gaze on Estelle, Mr. Tucker subtly stepped in the way, “Estelle’s not into acting, she’s an
outsider. This way, Mr. Lance, let me introduce you to Evelyn.”
Lance followed Mr. Tucker away but kept glancing back at Estelle.
Mr. Tucker, uneasy about Lance’s interest, discreetly instructed his people to keep an eye on Estelle.
Midway through the event, Estelle received a message from Jonathan. He had reached his apartment and sent her
a photo.
With no more interest in the party, Estelle excused herself from Mr. Tucker and Yulia and left.
Lance saw Estelle heading out and quickly followed, using an excuse to make his exit.
Estelle reached the parking lot, and just as Lance was about to approach her, someone suddenly covered his mouth
from behind and pinned his arms, dragging him away.
Muffled protests came from Lance as he struggled.
His captor dragged him to a secluded corner and struck him on the neck with a karate chop, causing Lance to
slump to the ground.
Aaron sauntered over, looking down at Lance with disdain, “Foolish man!”
The bodyguard asked, “What should we do with him?”

Aaron commanded coldly, “Give him a beating and dump him somewhere.”
“Understood,” the bodyguards responded in unison.
Estelle knew someone was following her but didn’t give it much thought. She paused by her car, giving the follower
a chance to catch up, but they never showed.
She glanced back with a hint of confusion. No one was there.
Raising an eyebrow, Estelle got into her car and sped off.
Once home, she took a shower and then went to the study to work on her design drafts.
The silence of the house without Jonathan was unsettling, and she found herself lacking inspiration.
Estelle chuckled at the irony. She used to thrive in solitude, and now she found it disconcerting.
Deciding to take a break, she went to the living room to watch a movie.
As the movie’s opening credits rolled, she rummaged through the fridge for something to snack on. She picked up
the ice cream but put it back down. Jonathan had made her promise to behave while he was away.
