Chapter 1460
Jonathan plopped down by the bed, drinking at the sight of a snoozing Estelle.
Her long lashes fluttered a bit, her breathing steady, looking adorable and sweet.
He watched her for a while, careful not to rouse her.
Maybe she was just exhausted, or maybe her snoozing was so peaceful because she knew that Jonathan was there.
Jonathan planted a gentle kiss on her soft cheek, didn’t have the heart to wake her, and headed back to his study.
The day grew darker, but Estelle was still in a deep sleep. Jonathan had no choice but to wake her up, “Honey, rise
and shine!”
“Ella!”
Estelle furrowed her brows, slowly opening her eyes. Her voice still heavy with sleep, she asked, “Going for a run? Is
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtit morning already?”
Seeing her all drowsy, Jonathan couldn’t help but give her a smooch, his heart full of affection.
Finally wide awake, Estelle leaned onto him, “Did I just sleep the whole afternoon? Why didn’t you wake me up
earlier?”
“Sleep if you want to, it’s absolutely okay.”
Estelle grumbled, “Then why did you wake me up?”
Jonathan was speechless.
Women! They just never made sense!
For dinner, Wilma ‘cooked up six dishes and a soup.
Estelle was famished. Every dish tasted heavenly. She didn’t rush, but before long, she had polished off a plate of
Beef Bourguignon. Suddenly something crossed Jonathan’s mind, making his heart skip a beat, “Let’s drop by the
hospital for a check–up tomorrow.” Mouth full of black pepper spaghetti, Estelle looked up at him! After swallowing
her food, she curiously asked, “Check–up for what exactly?”
A hint of worry flashed in Jonathan’s eyes, “Birth control pills can fail sometimes.
Estelle paused, almost biting her own tongue when the realization hit her, “No way!
“Well, it’s not completely impossible.”
Estelle rolled her eyes, “The pill you gave me is from Helgen Biopharmaceuticals too?
“Yep!” Jonathan nodded, “In–house development and production. Not available for retail.
That explained it. No wonder Blythe said she couldn’t find this pill in any pharmacy.
Estelle couldn’t help but chuckle. He must have had the company develop this pill before she went back to her
country. Talk about being thorough!
Jonathan’s expression darkened a little as he explained, “The clinical trials showed no failures, but better safe than
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmsorry.”
Every measure had a chance of failure.
Estelle still didn’t buy it, “I know my body. It’s not going to happen.”
“It’s safer to get a check–up.”
Seeing that he was insistent, Estelle didn’t argue. After all, her period was already two days late.
Having slept too much in the afternoon and eaten too much at dinner, Estelle and Jonathan decided to take Max
and Milo for a walk on the hillside road, then hit the home theatre upstairs.
The movie Estelle chose made Jonathan frown, “A horror movie, seriously?”
Estelle nodded, “You did say you’d watch a horror movie with me.”
Jonathan called over Max and Milo, having them lay in front of him.
The zombie horror flick Estelle picked was something that Jonathan could stomach. It was just gory, and he had
seen much worse in real life.
The movie depicted a world–ending zombie outbreak. Caught in the city lockdown, a family was forced to survive in
their own home. Later, they found out that the zombies had a weakness: their sight and sense of smell would
weaken significantly at night.
