Chapter 1345
“Emily, you” Linda’s eyes were sparkling with excitement, but her brows creased in anxiety
Gina, once again, invited everyone to feast on fruits and candies.
Though it was then quite common for women to have children outside of marriage, it was still not something to
brag about. So, everyone hastily changed the subject to today’s weather and Elliott’s wedding
Emily paid no mind to the odd looks thrown her way, as she had to take little Kya, the flower girl, to the guest room
to change outfits
Linda pulled Gina aside and asked seriously, “What’s up with Emily?”
Gina frowned, “I have no clue.”
“I am Emily’s aunt, and with her father Shawn out of the picture, I should be the one making decisions for her. So,
you tell me, where is the father of the child?” Linda demanded.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtGina sighed, “I honestly don’t know. You’re aware Emily hasn’t been home in years, and when she did come back,
she brought a child along. I asked her what had happened, but she didn’t want to talk about it. All I know is that she
broke up with Kya’s father, and she came back home alone with the kid”
Linda gritted her teeth, “What the hell?”
Gina lowered her head, at a loss for words.
“Emily didn’t just go abroad to study, she clearly went to mess around. As her mother, why didn’t you educate her?
If Kenny dared to do such a thing. I’d whoop her ass!” Linda sneered coldly.
Gina knew full well the real reason why Emily had gone abroad, but she couldn’t reveal the details to others, so she
vaguely responded, “Emily is actually quite sensible, she just got a bit mixed up.”
“Got mixed up big time!? Having a boyfriend is fine, but getting pregnant and having a kid? She’s really got some
balls!” Linda exaggerated her expression and tone, obviously mocking Emily
Gina knew that Linda was bad-mouthing Emily.
However, when Emily was being slandered, Gina couldn’t defend her, given the reality of Emily’s unmarried
pregnancy
“All the relatives are here today, this is so embarrassing. If I had known, I wouldn’t have let Emily bring Kya along,
now everyone’s laughing at us.” Linda’s voice was filled with worry, but her eyes revealed a hint of glee.
“Today is Elliott’s wedding, Emily is his blood sister, how could she not come?” Gina defended.
“She still shouldn’t have brought Kya!” Linda’s eyes were cunning. This won’t do, you better find a man for Emily
quickly get her hitched, and then no one will gossip anymore.”
Twish, there was a doctor who pursued Emily, but she wasn’t interested. I have tried to persuade her, but she
wouldn’t listen to me.*
“You can’t just let her have her way, look at what has happened, it’s a disgrace to the Sullivan family, and it affects
me too, after all, I am a Sullivan too!” Linda said with a touch of disgust, suddenly she remembered something, “Oh
right, my upstairs neighbor’s son just got divorced, he has a daughter too, how about I introduce him to Emily?”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmGina asked curiously, “Why did they get divorced?”
“There wasn’t any major reason, he’s just addicted to gaming, and his ex-wife couldn’t tolerate that. They used to
fight over it a lot and eventually chose to divorce. Although he is a bit chubby, he’s fairly handsome, stands about
5’7″ and is very friendly, always greets me whenever he sees me.” Linda recommended enthusiastically. “Their
family is also quite well-off, his father is a coach at a sports school and his mother is a head nurse at a hospital,
both have pretty high incomes.”
Gina gave it some thought. The conditions were worse than Martin’s.
Gina hesitated, “Emily said she doesn’t want a boyfriend for now, she has her own plans, I’m afraid she might not
take my advice.”
“You’re Emily’s mother, you should be more assertive. If Shawn had been home, this wouldn’t have happened!”
Linda continued, “I think Emily and my neighbor are perfect for each other, frankly, considering Emily’s situation,
finding a man like that is already quite a catch.”
Gina said a little awkwardly, “Let’s wait until Elliott’s wedding is over, then I’ll discuss this with Emily”
“You have to seize the opportunity, or you might never find another one!”
