Chapter 162 Yolande had nearly collapsed with fear the moment she first laid eyes on Lyman.
The man's presence was absolutely overwhelming.
He was terrifying.
When he looked her way, Yolande felt as if she'd been sliced to pieces by a thousand invisible blades.
Under that suffocating pressure, all she could do was nod meekly. "Okay." Two minutes later, Yolande sent a quick text: "It's done. I'm on my way to the old cabin with her. Be ready." As soon as Carole received the message, she rushed to share the good news with Isabel.

It worked! Finally.
After Effie had made a fool out of her and left her to be mocked across the internet, Isabel knew she couldn't let it go unpunished.
Now, she could hardly wait to see Effie fall from grace. The very thought thrilled her.
With a glint of malice in her eyes, Isabel snatched Carole's phone and started typing out a message.
Of course, the number she used was one Carole had paid to have set up-a burner. If anything went wrong, it couldn't be traced back to them.
Carole was always careful like that.
"Everyone's in place. Bring a few guys along-preferably someone with a nasty infection. Make sure that bitch gets what she deserves, then rough her up real good." Isabel's whole body buzzed with anticipation as she sent the message.
Just imagining Effie's fate sent a rush of excitement through her veins.
The reply cquickly: "Fine, but if you want anything extra, it'll cost you." They were squeezing her for more money.
Isabel grimaced at the thought of shelling out even more cash, but there was no turning back now. As long as Effie got what was coming to her, it would all be worth it.
She steeled herself and nodded at Carole, who transferred another $20,000 to their contact.

But barely two minutes later, another message popped up: "You'd better get over here. I think we went too far- she's completely out cold and hasn't caround. She might not make it." Isabel's face tightened in alarm as she snapped back, "What the hell is wrong with you?" The reply was immediate. "What do we do? Something's not right. She's turning blue and barely breathing. We're not touching her until you get here." A wave of panic crashed over Isabel. Her knuckles turned white as she clutched the phone.
She turned to Carole, her voice trembling. "What's going on? I just wanted to ruin her, not kill her!" Carole's nerves were shot too. She hurried over to read the messages. "Damn it —maybe they were too rough? Should we go check it out?"
Isabel hesitated, fear flickering in her eyes before a cold determination took over. "Yeah let's go. We can't let over. these idiots screw everything up. For all we know, Effie's just faking it."
Without another word, Isabel threw on dark clothes and a face mask She and Carole hurried out, catching a cab to the abandoned cabin on the edge of town. Yolande was waiting at the door when they arrived.
As soon as she saw them, she spoke up. "You're here. The woman's inside." Isabel shot her a look, noticing the bruises on Yolande's face. "What happened to you?"
Yolande scowled. "That woman's slippery. She tried to run on the way here, so I had to fight her off. Phings e gpt a bit tough and, well, I might've given her a bit too much of the sedative. I was worried she'd try something again..."
