Chapter 682

Maggie stood at the top of the staircase, leaning over the railing to peer down into the dimly lit foyer below. The

sheer amount of information she had just overheard left her stunned and momentarily speechless.

What had they been talking about? This woman claimed to have been living with Maurice for years? Good grief!

This was like something out of a soap opera!

You had to hand it to Maurice; the guy was meticulous and left no loose ends. For three whole years, Maggie

hadn't had the faintest inkling about this mysterious woman's existence. Maurice could truly be seen as the

epitof deceit, always keeping up appearances of a devoted partner while juggling his affairs. Maggie could

only marvel at his audacity. She couldn't care less about his other women; her focus was solely on the wafer

technology!

If she could uncover more secrets, it would undoubtedly be a huge help to Frederick.

Maggie bit her lip to stifle any sound, her attention snapping back as Maurice's voice, tinged with irritation, filled

the space again.

"I'm not here for a trip down memory lane. | want information!"

The woman, unfazed, lazily hooked a finger around his tie, playing with it as she spoke.

"I'll give you what you want. But if you play with fire and get burned, don't dragdown with you."

"Talk."

"25 Cheshire Avenue, the hacker's hideout. Remember, Maurice, I'm the only one who'd go this far for you."

In the shadows, Maggie watched the woman boldly lean into Maurice, tilting her head up as if seeking a kiss.

Before Maggie could see if Maurice responded, her phone vibrated violently in her pocket. Her heart nearly

leaped out of her throat as she hastily silenced it and peered back down.

Oddly enough, in the few seconds her attention had been diverted, both the woman and Maurice had vanished.

Had they heard the phone? No matter. As long as they hadn't spotted her.

Deciding it was best to vacate the premises, Maggie hadn't taken more than a few steps when her phone

vibrated again. It was Frederick calling. She answered quickly, only to be met with his slightly annoyed voice.

"Where have you been? Why'd you hang up?"

"Are you kidding? | was freaking out! | just stumbled onto a huge secret that could help you!"

Frederick paused for a beat, then asked, "Where are you?"

"Just at the hospital. I'll fill you in later. You're going to owebig time." Maggie could hardly contain her

excitement. After a brief exchange, she was instructed to meet Frederick at the parking lot.

The hospital, an old building with no underground parking, meant they had parked on the street upon arrival.

However, as Maggie stepped out into the lobby, a sultry voice called her name, "Maggie!"

Turning, she was confronted by a total stranger. Tall, clad in a tight black dress under a cropped fur jacket, with

cascading waves of hair, the woman exuded an almost intoxicating allure. Maggie didn't recognize her. Yet, it

was impossible to miss the striking blue eyeshadow accentuating the woman's upturned eyes - the swoman

who had been cozying up to Maurice in the stairwell.

How on earth did she know Maggie? Feeling a sudden surge of anxiety, Maggie frowned slightly.

"Can | help you?"

The woman approached with a radiant smile, extending her hand. "Maggie, I'm Maurice's wife, but please, call
