Chapter 427 Austin watched the scene in silence, his expression unreadable. Though he remained indifferent, his fists clenched ever so tightly.
Angela walked over, closing the transparent umbrella. "Austin, let's go." Her fingers tightened around the handle, her knuckles pale, and her lips had lost all color. It was an undeniable sign of exhaustion and weakness.
"Let's go." Austin reached out to take the umbrella, but she didn't hand it over. Instead, she silently brushed past him and headed toward the airport.
A faint pain stirred in his chest as he watched her stubborn figure disappear into the distance. Only now did he truly realize that she was no longer the sperson she used to be.
After an eight-hour flight, they landed in Yedren. Another exhausting ten-plus hours by car brought them to a remote, almost isolated town on Yedren's border.

The town was lush and vibrant, with greenery flourishing everywhere. Along the expansive main roads and throughout the vast estates and fields, thick canopies of trees created a cool mosaic of dappled shadows. It seemed like they had entered a secret realm of nature's splendor.
It was Angela's first tin such a unique place, but she had to admit that it was an ideal retreat for rest and recovery.
They pulled up outside a grand manor. From a distance, the estate exuded an air of mystery and elegance, resembling the stately residences of Estra's medieval nobility.
"Let's go," Austin said in a low voice, pulling her back from her thoughts.
Angela instinctively asked, "Austin, how's Ms. Lawson doing?" "She has Alzheimer's disease." Austin's voice was calm, yet merciless.
Angela's mind went blank. She was overwhelmed by sorrow, and tears began to fall.
"How... how could this happen?" Her voice trembled, filled with disbelief. The unpredictability of fate felt unbearably cruel, making it impossible to accept.
"What happened has happened. The best we can do now is be there for her in these final days. I brought you here because seeing you might make her happy. Who knows? could help her feel better." He gave her shoulder a gentle pat.
As Angela followed Austin into the manor, she immediately sensed a heavy, subdued atmosphere, despite the lingering warmth of the evening sun.
Stepping through the grand entrance of the manor, they were greeted by a row of uniformed maids. A middle-aged man, who appeared to be the butler, bowed respectfully and began briefing Austin on Genevieve's condition. Austin listened intently.
Angela fixed her gaze on the butler as well, absorbing every word. She soon learned that Genevieve's condition had been highly unstable over the past few days.

Angela felt a sharp pain in her chest as guilt overwhelmed her. She recognized her ingratitude,
especially after realizing how much Genevieve had suffered withouther knowledge. Worse still, she had arrived far too late.
"This must be Ms. Graham. Your room is ready upstairs. Once you've seen Ms-Lawson, we'l give you tour," the butler remarked politely with a smile. Angela nodded and replied, "Thank you." "My nis Elias Whitaker. You can just callElias," he introduced himself.
"Elias, prepare sfood," Austin instructed.
Elias replied with a smile, "It's already prepared. Once Ms. Graham comes downstairs, she can have a meal n.
