Chapter 7
Hearing that rendered Yulia completely speechless. It seemed that she could not bring herself to yell at
Skylar when he was defending her unconditionally.
Soon, Yulia finally regained her senses after the slap. She yelled, “Damn you, Skylar! How dare you hit
me! All right then, very well. Remember now, grandma, you and your father are not the ones who caused
uncle’s death. Skylar is solely responsible for his death! Let’s go, Nicholas!”
After that, Yvonne stormed off to the elevator with Nicholas.
“Mr. Wexler…”
Betty pleaded for him to stop, but she was shoved aside by Nicholas.
He felt pointless to stay since he was unable to beat Skylar in a fight. Since this was about Yulia’s
father’s fate, it had nothing to do with him. However on second thought, he felt that it would be much
better if he was dead. It was just as Yvonne said. Lincoln’s blood was on Skylar’s hands. That was
because if that happened, her family would never forgive Skylar.
Betty was in a complete mental wreck when she watched Nicholas and Yvonne leave. So, she yelled at
Skylar, “Leave right now! Stay as far away from us as possible!”
Suddenly, Skylar’s phone began to ring. The caller turned out to be Dianne, so without saying a word, he
walked out of the room.
His main priority was to save Lincoln’s life as soon as he received his medical kit.
Yulia was crushed when she watched him leave.
If she was disappointed before then it meant that she had completely lost all faith in Skylar.
Meanwhile, after accepting his medical kit at the entrance, Skylar rushed over to the emergency room.
Dianne felt incredibly excited about the whole situation. It turned out that Skylar had announced that he

Everyone in the Northern borders was baffled by the news. Some even claimed that no one would even
master the skills Skylar had in a hundred years. However, no one expected that Skylar would break his
own vow to save a regular man on the first day he returned to Cloudtopia.
It seemed that only the Dragon Commander’s lover could convince him to break his vow.
Meanwhile in the chancellor’s office, Betty could be seen sitting silently on a chair. She was exhausted
and felt completely hopeless then.
“Dammit Skylar, he has killed Lincoln! Not only is he poor, he’s so violent too, Yulia. He’s barely even a
fraction of the man Nicholas could be. I need you to open your eyes and look closely at the man you
chose!”
It seemed that Charles had decided to pin all the blame on Skylar.
How dare that obsessive bastard slap my daughter in front of me. He doesn’t even respect me at all!
Charles looked furious at the moment. It almost seemed as if he had forgotten that his family was
responsible for fanning the flames and causing Madam Sue to kick Lincoln’s family out of the mansion.
Of course, he was more angry at how unwilling Yulia was to marry Nicholas. Since that was the case,
none of his plans could happen if Yulia never married Nicholas.
Suddenly, Madam Sue who had remained silent the entire time earlier said, “I believe that Nicholas only
left because Skylar was there. His ego is bruised because he was slapped by Skylar. Since he had
already left, you should call Nicholas right now to apologize to him. Have him return to save your dad.”
Upon hearing that, Betty said, “That’s right, Yulia. Hurry up and give Mr. Wexler a call. Your father’s life is
in your hands now!”
“I…” Yulia stuttered as she wanted to refuse them.
She understood that by apologizing to Nicholas, she would have agreed to his request earlier then. She
would have to marry him if she ended up sleeping with Nicholas. This was no different than being
condemned into a living hell for her.
However, after listening to what Betty said, Lincoln was still her biological father and his life was literally
hanging on by a thread. So, with that in mind, she steeled herself and called Nicholas. She had decided
to sacrifice her happiness for her father’s life.
Yulia teared up as soon as the call connected.
“What’s the matter? Did you have a falling out with Skylar and you’re begging me now?” Nicholas’ cocky
voice could be heard coming from the other end of the call.
“Hey Nicholas, could you please call the chancellor? My father’s condition is extremely dire and I don’t
think he has much time left,” Yulia pleaded with a shaky voice.
Nicholas’ eyes glimmered as he asked, “So, does this mean that you’ve agreed to my request then?”
Yulia gritted her teeth and said,”Yeah.”
“Hahaha, I knew it. Haven’t I told you that none of this would’ve happened if you’d just do what I say?”
Nicholas chuckled.
However, just as he was about to call his uncle after the call, his eyes glimmered and decided to change
his mind.
“My uncle called me earlier. He wants you to operate on a heart attack patient.” Nicholas told a young
doctor.
The young doctor was shocked to hear that as he said, “Please stop joking, Mr. Wexler. Look, I’ve only
been working here for three years. I’ve never operated on a heart attack patient before.”
“My uncle is occupied with something right now and now it’s the best time for you to gain some

So, the young doctor had no choice but to reluctantly prepare everything he needed for the procedure.
Meanwhile at the chancellor’s office.
After knowing that Nicholas had agreed to help get his uncle over, Madam Sue and the others felt relief.
“I knew Nicholas is more reliable in times like these. Besides, his family is involved in all kinds of
industries in our city. Gosh, not only was Skylar not helpful, he nearly cost Lincoln his life. You should just
marry Nicholas, Yulia. I mean, he did save your dad. Besides, his family is also invited to attend the
ceremony. If you marry him, I’m sure he’ll bring you along. Yvonne told me that you’ve admired the
Dragon Commander for a really long time now. Look, you should consider yourself lucky to be able to get
a glance at his grandeur even though you aren’t able to marry him.”
Yulia teared up as she felt incredibly hopeless. She was blessed with stunning looks. However, her good
looks cost her all of her good fortune. Perhaps, she should have long since accepted her own fate.
“Where did daddy go, mommy?” Lola asked.
“Your dad… might have to go on another mission in a faraway land again…”
Yulia was crushed as she gave the little girl a tight hug.
She thought that Lola was the only one she had left. However, little did she know, Skylar was saving her
father in the operating theater at the moment. It seemed that he was halfway through the procedure then.
Skylar was extremely focused as he adjusted the needles based on how Lincoln reacted.
Suddenly, a middle-aged man walked by the room. He was none other than Nicholas’ uncle. The
chancellor of the hospital.
It turned out that he had just finished a heart bypass surgery and seemed a little dazed.
However, when he peered through the window, he was stunned to see Skylar.
I don’t know that man! What is he doing here and he seems to be treating the patient!
