In the meantime, Nicole was seen wearing an exquisite white dress and a tiara when she exited a jewelry show. As

she was making her way toward the changing room, her expression was utterly grim.

At the same time, Wendy was following closely behind her.

There had been too much negative publicity aimed at Nicole recently. She was said to have acted haughtily,

verbally assaulted the fans, and performed poorly in acting. In fact, even her misconduct during her time in the

orphanage was exposed. All the scandals about her were publicized in detail, and the news had been shocking, to

The management company had been busy trying to prove her innocence, and they were running out of ideas.

Unlike the previous times, the news regarding Nicole had been unmanageable. Prior to that, the company would

use William's name to force the media companies to stop reporting Nicole's scandals.

This time around, however, that strategy didn't work.

Hence, the company was desperate to identify the mastermind. Unfortunately for them, they couldn't find the

tiniest bit of information.

“Nickie, there's too much focus on you at the moment. Should you go abroad to lie low temporarily?” Wendy was

carefully removing the jewelry from Nicole's clothing in the changing room.

Nicole was an actress, and her primary job was acting. Nonetheless, she would take up some commercials in her

spare time.

With her background, she was sailing smoothly in the entertainment industry, and she was receiving sponsorships

from every direction.

However, since her scandals, her acting contracts were put on hold, and the various advertisements and

promotional videos she endorsed were also withdrawn.

In other words, her career was on the rocks.

The jewelry show she was attending at the moment was full of famous international stars, and she wasn't invited as

a special guest in the first place. Wendy had to make use of William's reputation once again to get Nicole on the

show.

Knowing that Nicole's reputation in the country was affected, Wendy was hoping that Nicole could explore the

opportunities abroad. Thus, she wanted to take advantage of the jewelry show to see if Nicole could win the favor

of foreign directors. Needless to say, things weren't working out as well as she had hoped.

During the star-studded show, Nicole was nothing compared to the other models in terms of looks, height, and

charisma. As a result, none of the attendees bothered to pay any attention to her.

That was why Nicole was looking solemn after the show.

“If I ever find out who's sabotaging me, I'm going to make that person pay!” Nicole no longer looked as gentle as

she looked under the spotlight. Instead, her face was full of resentment, and even her eyes were gloomy.

“Nickie, prior to this, your reputation had been great within the entertainment industry. I don't know who would

want to sabotage you. Whoever that person is, how could he not be afraid of William? If things don't turn for the

better, I think you should tell Mrs. Lambert about it. Your parents love you dearly, so I think they'll definitely help

you out.” Wendy couldn't stop sighing.

In response, Nicole hesitated and said, “I can only tell my mom about it. If my dad finds out what's happening, he'll

drag me out of the entertainment industry immediately.”

William never liked the fact that Nicole was working in the entertainment industry. She knew he could make all her

problems go away with ease. However, she also knew he would force her into quitting the entertainment industry

the moment he found out about the scandals surrounding her.

Obviously, she didn't want that to happen.

“Well, Mrs. Lambert is a warm and gentle person. Besides, she loves you very much. If she were to resolve the

issue for you, those scandals would disappear in no time. Still, you should take a break from the entertainment

industry until things settle down,” Wendy urged.

“Okay.” Nicole massaged her temples. “I know, Wendy. I should take advantage of it and have a good rest.”

Nicole's phone rang.

Upon seeing that it was a call from Roderick, Nicole wanted to smash the phone up out of disgust. However, she

recalled how he had gotten rid of Charles for her and prevented the mastermind from getting any clues. Roderick is

a capable man, and I think he'll still come in handy.

With that in mind, Nicole answered the phone reluctantly.

“What's the matter with you, Nickie? Do you feel ill?” Wendy asked concernedly when she saw Nicole's lips were

about to bleed from biting.

F*ck you, Roderick. Who are you to order me around whenever you feel like fulfilling your lust? Nicole's tone was

filled with hatred when she replied, “Wendy, do you know any innocent-looking models or actresses who are dying

for fame? Please tell these girls you would like to introduce them to a big shot.”

“Yes. I'm managing a lot of beautiful ladies, and they're all desperate for fame.” Wendy saw Nicole furrowing her

brows and asked cautiously, “Could it be that Mr. Fuller is troubling you again?”

From the moment Nicole made her debut in the entertainment industry until she made a name for herself, she had

been under Wendy's wings. Hence, Nicole trusted Wendy, and she would tell Wendy everything. That was why

Wendy knew a bit about what was going on between Nicole and Roderick.

Naturally, as Nicole's manager, Wendy also wanted Nicole to be free of Roderick, but it would be foolish to mess

with the Fuller family. If things were to get exposed, Nicole would also suffer.

Nicole then sprawled on the dressing table in frustration. “Wendy, stop asking me questions. I need you to look for a

nutritional dishes. While carrying the thermal lunch box in her hands, she asked the nurses for Avery's ward number

and went to look for Avery.

At that moment, Avery was chatting with a nurse. Sounds of footsteps suddenly rang out from outside, and Avery

was shocked to see Claire at the entrance.

Avery was so surprised to see Claire that she froze and forgot to greet Claire.

The nurse was the first to react, and she smiled when she saw how much Avery resembled Claire. “You're Ms.

Rumpley's mother, aren't you? You guys look alike! In fact, your eyes look exactly the same!”

Avery awkwardly pulled the nurse's hand and explained softly, “You've got the wrong person. I'm not related to
