The sound of a splatter resounded across the underground. Viera who had her eyes closed snapped them open, only to find the very same ghoul with his body split in half from the head down slammed against an barely visible barrier.
Xavier who had his sword extended out, quickly swung it splattering the blood on the blade all across the floor before placing it back into the sheathe.
After turning to his sister, she could see the smile still present on his face.
[You killed a ghoul!]
[+20 XP!]
[Would you like to devour the ghoul's blood?]
'No.' Xavier quickly responded.
"Don't worry, these things are weak." Said Xavier.
Viera looked at the floor where the ghoul's corpse slid down onto, a pool of purple blood began flowing out of it towards her feet.
She ignored it and looked over at Elaine only to find the ghoul which had leapt at her had been dealt with in a single strike by Sangrea, its body had also been sliced to pieces.
"Then why didn't you just say so?" Viera asked as she puffed up her cheeks.
"Yeah, you gave us quite the scare." Elaine complained.
The two puffed their cheeks out before lightly bumping at Xavier's back with a fist.
Their reaction had surprised all the Vampires present.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThe maid who had been watching them narrowed her eyes.
'They don't seem unsettled by all the blood or the ghoul's corpse... They look carefree even, wouldn't the normal human reaction be for them to appear unsettled?'
She looked over at the ghoul's bodies which had their organs spilling out. Even if they were ghouls they still resembled humans. Most people would react in fear, panic or would even be puking at the sight.
Yet they were perfectly fine?
'Both him and his family... They're quite weird.'
The maid's attention quickly shifted from them and her thoughts however, over to the [Underground.] Exit ahead of them.
"Tsk." She clicked her tongue in disgust.
"I'd hate to interrupt again... But there's more coming." Said the butler. "Have you made your decision?" He asked as he glanced at Xavier.
"Yeah, take us to the mansion." Replied Xavier. "Let's give it a look."
A grin grew on the butler's face as he listened to Xavier's response.
"Well then... Since the choice has been maid... Let's head over to the closest one. The young lady's mansion."
Throughout the time they were speaking, a swarm of ghouls had gathered and closed in the distance between them, lunging at Xavier's mother and sister with their mouths wide open, drooling for flesh.
*Snap!*
The butler snapped his finger, and at that instant-
*BWOOSH!*
From the outside, countless ghouls could be seen soaring through the air at high speeds before crashing into the buildings ahead of the station.
*BWOOSH!* *BWOOOSH!*
With the sound of a loud bang, they were blasted out of the station. Some went sliding down the puddle-filled streets while others banged their heads against the lamp posts, cars and other objects.
A few seconds later, the group emerged from the station with a barrier surrounding them. The butler who stood at the head of the barrier, sent a death-glare towards the ghouls before him.
The station was filled with ghouls, all around. From station's main building to even the ghouls gathering in the area because of all the noise.
"Young lady... Your orders?" Asked the butler as he turned to Sangrea.
"Get us home safe, make sure not a hair on their body is harmed."
"As you wish." The butler responded with a bow.
*FWOOSH!*
Before their eyes, a horizontal barricade suddenly manifested, resembling a platform for them to stand on. Another barricade appeared on said top, of the other in the shape of a staircase ascending into the air.
Together the group hopped from platform to platform, slowly getting further and further away from the ground as the ghouls repeatedly crashed into the barrier in an attempt to break it.
"I thought the Vampires could control the ghouls..." Muttered Xavier.
"We assumed the same... It appears they'll all gone out of control due to external factors. They would usually avoid humans banded with Vampires but I guess they don't care about us anymore." Responded the butler.
"Only particular Vampires with mind control abilities can do anything to them at this stage..." Muttered the maid.
*Hop*

With each hop and transition onto a new platform, the previous platform would disappear and an aditional one would be formed above.
Eventually they had gone so far off the ground that the ghouls could no longer reach them.
[Barrier Manipulation: Giant Barrier.]
*Fwoosh!*
The hexagonal horizontal barrier beneath their feet expanded creating a large platform just big enough for all of them to spread out upon.
With their clothes swaying against the wind, Elaine and Viera took a seat on the platform to relax their legs.
They had hopped through quite a lot of platforms.
"Whoa..." Muttered Viera and Sangrea as they looked down.
The ground was so far away, but the city view was incredible. Even if all they could see was destruction everywhere along with a few buildings.
"Isn't the government of this country supposed to be competent?" The butler asked.
"Against Vampires? I doubt it." The maid responded.
Xavier gazed at building lit up in flames, a short distance down south. The dark smoke flowing up into the air as well as the rampaging fire, it had managed to hook in his attention.
Sangrea and Viera imitated him and also stared at the burning building. While Viera could barely see it with her human sight, Xavier and Sangrea could see the ghouls clearly rushing into the buildings.
No matter how weak they were, their numbers were getting out of hand.
"Alright, that's enough rest. We're at central so to get to the mansion we need to head west to Knightsbridge."
Viera and Xaviers ears twitched.
'Knightsbridge... That's the posh area, isn't it?' Viera wondered.
'Isn't that one of the most expensive districts of London?' Xavier questioned inwardly. 'It seems they're not just influential in the Vampire world...'
