Kana thought for a moment before nodding her head. She then waved her hand and put a barrier around the general. "This will protect you. Let's go."
Kana and the general did not fly towards the barrier but walked leisurely to the barrier while they chatted about the current situation of the men at the base. She was asking what they lacked in supplies and if they needed anything special. "I think we have pretty much everything we need. The only thing that is tiresome is trying to get mail back and forth to our families."
"Mail? Hmmm… I will work on that." Kana had never thought about mail, but now this was a good chance to look into it and see if she could come up with a fast and efficient way of doing it. "Get the flag ready," Kana said as they got close to the barrier wall.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThis flag was gray and not white. Gray flags were for messengers who would try to speak to the generals of the opposing side. It was a means to call a ceasefire since communication was not very easy on the battlefield and while some messengers died it was normal procedure to allow a messenger in since they would be unarmed and would look badly on your kingdom for killing them.
With the flag lazily laid over her shoulder, Kana walked through the barrier followed by the general who took up position behind her. The soldiers on the other side all went on guard, but none dared to attack. Kana looked around before yelling: "Who is your commander?"
"I am!" A man suddenly jumped up into the sky and over to where Kana was. He looked at the general and then at Kana unsure what to make of this situation as the lizard girl in front of him had the empire's dragon robes on. Which meant that this person was part of the empire's royal family. "What can I do for you?"
"I want to know if you plan to attack my empire or not. If not, then I will not do anything. But once I raise this barrier and you begin your attack I promise you will instantly lose. No one is able to harm my people. They are all protected by me, after all. But I will say this if you do not intend to attack, we will not do anything. And do not think you can attack under the pretense that my men attacked you all first because that will not be possible because they are all under a death contract making it impossible for them to do such things. Now then. What is your answer? Peace, or will you be forced to give up the entire Fuaz Kingdom due to some stupid move on your part?" As Kana spoke the smile on her face did not disappear at all which unsettled many of the Fuaz Kingdom's soldiers.
Mainly because this woman was in a mass of soldiers making crazy demands but smiling the entire time, either she was an idiot or very powerful. Even the Fuaz Kingdom's general was unsure how to take Kana's calmness in this situation.
But since he was a military man and a general, he could only sigh and say: "It is not up to me on whether or not we attack. If the higher ups want me to attack, they will order me to, which means I will be forced to no matter what. I have family back in the capital and so do my men. So if I were to suddenly go against orders, they would kill my entire family."
"I see…. So, in the end, I will still need to take over your kingdom and merge it into my Devan Empire. Well, I guess having another treasury will work out well. I'll tell you what, if you pretend to do what you are told when the time comes, you can save your family, and we will not kill any of your men. And once I get notice that you have attacked my empire, I will just take out your royal family. Simple, right?" Kana's words made everyone there shiver. She was talking about overthrowing a kingdom as if she was drinking a cup of water.
The Fuaz Kingdom general narrowed his eyes. "Girl, I think you are forgetting one thing you are now surrounded. And as a young woman and a beautiful one at that, my men are pretty hungry for some companionship."
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"Oh? So you wish to use me for your own amusement? I am sorry to tell you that I am already taken, but such threats will also not be overlooked. I mean, how would I, the Empress of the Devan Empire, look if I let some general of an enemy army look down on me in such a way, so I will have you all sit now like good boys." As Kana's words fell, every man in the Fuaz Kingdom army that was in the area fell to the ground under a heavy pressure.
"You see, I only need to raise a finger to make you all kneel. What do you think would happen if I spread my spiritual pressure across your kingdom? Do you think your kingdom could even move an inch if I decided to do so?" Kana let the pressure up, allowing people to stand up once more. The Fuaz Kingdom general stared at Kana with pure fear in his eyes.
"See… we now have a clearer picture of what is to come, so tell me, what will you do?" Kana asked. Her lips still curled up into a smile.
The Fuaz Kingdom general moved and knelt down in front of Kana and pushed his head into the ground. "We will do as you command. If we are ordered to attack, we will fake it and report to your men that we were ordered to do so."
Kana smiled and patted the general on the shoulder. "Then here is looking to a good future for those of the Devan Empire. Don't worry. I treat my people fairly and will never let harm come to them. The barrier will drop in a few days. Remember to be polite and do not do anything stupid. Girls have feelings too, you know."
With that, Kana turned around and walked back towards the barrier, followed by her general. "Your Highness….. You just settled a one hundred year war in a matter of a few seconds. This is….."
The general now held Kana on an even higher pedestal. He never thought with just a few actions, she could make an entire enemy army submit to her. It was no wonder no war broke out after she usurped the throne.
