Chapter 96. Wants to talk
“D... Dominic...! Dominic... Dominic? Dominic!” Athena’s voice trembled as she barged into the room where Dominic was and
found him lying on the hospital bed lifelessly.
She felt all her energy left her body at the sight of him. Different kinds of machine and wires were attached to his body. Two big
bandages were wrapped around his stomach and his chest. He looked so defenceless at that moment. The man who never let
anyone look at him in the eyes and talk was laying on the hospital bed with his eyes closed for goddess know how long. Could
things be worse than this?
She cried out as she felt her heart breaking at the sight of him but the moment she took a step toward him, to run to his arms and
ask him to wake up for her and hold her in his arms, someone stopped her by holding her arm. She immediately stopped and
looked at the obstacle with dark and dangerous eyes. A growl erupted inside her chest, making the man flinch. He looked like
another doctor.
“Luna, please calm down.” He said in a professional tone while trying to hide the fact that he was intimidated by her
She tried to pull her hands away from him as she didn’t want to have the same conversation with him as Lisa. She just didn’t
have the energy. But when the man tightened his hold around her arm, not letting her go near Dominic, she lost her calm.
“Let me go! I said let me go. I want to go to my mate. I want to go to him. Leave me!” She shouted in fury and frustration while
struggling against his hold. No matter what, she was still weak from yesterday’s events. Also the news about Dominic weakened
her a lot as well. She couldn’t put up a strong fight with the doctor.
“Luna, you can’t meet him until you are calmed down. It’s not good for him.’ The young doctor said in a strict tone. Athena was
too busy to notice how he looked. She frowned at him deeply, finding his words utterly ridiculous and irritating.
“Who are you to stop me from meeting my mate? Dominic? Dominic, see they are not letting me come to you.” She couldn’t
handle the burst of emotions and complained like a child with a defeated shoulder. The doctor looked at her in pity but that
seemed to oil her anger.
“Luna, please calm down. Alpha is not in a great condition. If you create ruckus here, that’s not going to be helpful for him. You
have to understand that.” His word of advice made her lose her complete calm as she glared at him.
“Don’t fucking tell me what I have to do or not! Dominic would have ripped your hands off for touching me, do you realise that?!”
She snapped in a cold tone while looking at his hand which was on her arms, making him immediately take his hand away.
No matter what she said until then scared him as much as her last line did. He was truly scared thinking what Dominic would do t
o him if Dominic found out that he touched his mate. He gulped out loud while taking a step back from him while looking at her
apologetically
“I am sorry, Luna. Please forgive me. I was just trying to look after the alpha ” He said in a guilty tone which didn’t do anything to
calm her anger.
‘You think you can help him by stopping me from going near him?! I am his mate, do you think you have more power than me in

healing me?!” She snapped, finding him really stupid. She had enough of these stupid doctors.
“I am sorry, Luna. I was just....” The man tried to say something when a voice from the door stopped him.
“You can meet him, Luna.” A senior doctor in his mid thirties said while entering the room.
Athena immediately recognised the doctor from her yesterday. He is the same doctor whom she attacked and threatened
yesterday. The memory made her embarrassed. She was embarrassed for acting like a brat.
God knows what happens to her sometimes!
“Doctor Ron” The previous doctor nodded at doctor Ron respectfully. Athena understood that Ron might be the one in charge of

the pack hospital Ron nodded back at him before looking at Athena with a soft and calm look. Athena was ready with a frown
once again, ready to hear the same thing from him.
“You can’t meet alpha.’
“Hello, Luna. I am sorry on his behalf. He is a new intern and he was worried for Alpha. But I am telling you, you can go and
meet him You are right, only you have the power to heal him at this moment. We did what we could do.” Ron said with an
encouraging smile while moving away from Athena’s away. He even pulled the intern away with him, making way for Athena to
go to Dominic Athena looked at him in shock and confusion
“What do you mean?” She asked with a small frown. She was confused after hearing different things for the first time.
“His wolf needs healing and no one else but you can help him. Please help our alpha in healing. We will give you privacy Call us
if
something happens. Thank you.” Ron said in a very mature and smart tone with a small smile. His posture was very controlled
as well. She was feeling more guilty for her behaviour now.
“I am sorry, Luna.” The previous doctor said in an apologetic tone and with a small nod. She couldn’t say anything to them but
just when they were going to leave the room, Athena stopped doctor Ron.
“Wait, doctor Ron...” She called in an unstable tone while looking really guilty.
“Yes, Luna?” Ron responded with a small smile. She let out a sigh before looking at him.
“I am sorry for the way I behaved with you last night. I was scared and was not in the right state of my mind.” She apologised in a
very sincere tone. She looked at him in the eyes to show she meant her words.
“It’s okay, Luna. I understand. I am glad you brought him here at the right time otherwise things could have gone more wrong.
And thank you for threatening me with my life. My love for my life made me work harder to do my work properly.” He joked to
make the environment a little lighter. Athena smiled a little after hearing the joke before looking at him with a grateful smile.
“Thank you, Ron.” She thanked him and he returned the smile back to her.
“I will be around if you need me. Please stay strong.” He said with a small smile before walking out of the room, not prolonging
the conversation any more and giving her time to share the moment with Dominic.
After they both left while closing the door behind them, it was only both of them now. There was no sound other than their

heartbeats and the sound made by the machine. Unlike every time, their heartbeats weren’t synced this time. His heart was
beating slower than her. That showed how weak his heart was... That made her feel sadder as she took slow steps toward him.
Her leg was wobbling but she caught a hold of herself at the right time and kneeled down in front of his bed.
She looked at him in the face. His face didn’t have his usual frown on his face nor the cold look. It was just calm. As calm as his
favourite lake. Just like the calm lake, his calm face was saddening as well. It was breaking his heart.
“How c... could you?” She asked in a broken tone. The tears she was trying hard to block blurred her vision. She couldn’t see
properly. But she still didn’t let those tears fall.
“How could you be so cruel? How could you do this to me?” She asked but this time she couldn’t hold the tears anymore. They
rolled down her cheeks as he cried out while holding his cold hand. His lifeless hand.
“Didn’t you say that you are going to work hard to win my heart? Didn’t you say that you are going to fight for me, fight for Ace,
fight for us? Then how could you not fight for yourself? Why didn’t you fight the silver? How could you fail in this?” She asked
while shaking his hand hard. The tears were unstoppable after that. Her thoughts were making her too crazy as she struggled in
voicing them in front of him.
What’s the point? Was he going to understand her? Or hear her, reply to her? No, but she was going to feel a lot better.
“Answer me! Why are you quiet?! I need answers, goddamn it, Dominic! I want you to talk to me. The last time we were fighting! I
don’t want that as a memory when you are in a coma! Get up and talk to me properly so that I can hang on. Wake up!” She

shouted while crying. She dropped her head on his chest and continued to cry. She cried her heart out with the rhythm of his
slowly beating heart. She raised her head after a few seconds and looked up at him again. She wiped her tears away which was
fruitless a s more tears kept coming down.
“I... I have so much to tell you. I have so much to share with you. Please don’t make me regret my decision of not sharing those
things with you before. I can’t go on one day with regret. Any small regret makes my day a living hell. Wake up, listen to what I
have to say and free me from this guilt. Please.” She begged. She had a lot to say but didn’t know where to start. She also didn’t
want to say all these precious things when he was in a coma. But she couldn’t keep them inside her as well. So, she badly
needed him to get up.
“I want to tell you so much. I want to tell you that I am ready to give us a chance for real. I want to tell you that I am ready to tell
Ace about you. I want to tell you that Ace couldn’t get a better father than you. I want to tell you that I... trust you, Dominic. I want
t o tell you so much.” She whispered near his ear while dropping a kiss on his forehead. She wiped away the tears which fell on
his face before chuckling through tears. The chuckle was filled with emptiness and was void of any emotions or humour.
“Isn’t that funny? Before we couldn’t pass a day without fighting and hardly talked properly, and now I am blabbering non stop
When I was in front of you, ready to give my everything to you, you rejected me. When you were ready to give the world to me, I
pushed you away. Moon goddess must be punishing us.” She said in an empty tone while looking at the blank space in front of
her blankly .

She didn’t know what else to think of this. She wanted to blame someone to feel better and at that moment, the moon goddess
was the easy target She knew she was wrong but she didn’t know what else to do. Her back was touching the wall.
“Don’t say this, Athena.” A broken voice from the door pulled her away from her thoughts and she looked at the door. The tears
she stopped from flowing a few seconds ago, starting rolling down her cheeks again, without her permission as she stood up and
ran
toward the person standing at the door with open arms.
“Suzanne... Suzanne!” She exclaimed in relief and the next moment in pain as she hugged her. Suzanne hugged her back and
they both stayed in each other’s embrace
“Oh my, Athena!” Suzanne exclaimed as she cried softly along with her as well.
“Suzanne, see, he is not waking up. They are saying he went into a coma.” Athena cried like a baby. Suzanne was the only one
on whom she could rely on and she was grateful to the moon goddess for sending Suzanne in her life.
“Shh... Calm down, Athena. Yes, I have heard it. Please don’t cry. We need to stay strong in such moments. You need to stay
strong for him, for Ace, for us, for the pack.” Suzanne said while slowly pulling her away from the hug and cupping her face. She
looked at her in the eyes as she said those words. She wanted Athena to hear her words and understand what she was saying.
“I can’t... I can’t, Suzanne.” Athena cried, almost breaking down once again.
“No, Athena. You can. Trust me. You can. You have to do this. You have to make him proud. You can do this, Athena. Tell me
you can do it.” Suzanne made her look in the eyes and said in a hard tone. But Athena still wasn’t ready for this as she shook her
head negatively, not ready to hear anything.
“I... I can do it...” She mumbled out while looking down.
“We are with you in this, Athena.” Nathan’s voice from the door made them look at the door as Nathan and Justin walked inside
the room with confidence and determination on their face.
“You are not alone in this, Athena.” Justin said in a serious tone. Their words and confidence were slowly getting on her and she
started to calm down slowly.
“But...” She still had the major thing on her shoulder which she didn’t know how to face.
“But, what?” Suzanne asked with a small frown. Athena’s face fell at the question.
“How am I going to tell Ace that his superhero-...” She had just started to share her problem with them when she was stopped
“Mommy?”
