After hanging up the phone, he didn't revisit the idea of checking on Carol. Instead, he made his way to the entrance. As he arrived the house next door, where Listina lived, he found Listina slumped on the couch, tears streaming down her face, her palms smeared with blood.
"Felix." At the sight of him, Listina's sobs grew more intense. Frowning, Felix called for the family doctor and asked, "What happened?" "I was slicing apples and I cut myself by accident. I'm in so much pain. And when I think about you marrying Carol, I feel like I just can't go on. I don't know what you're thinking, Felix. I can't read you, and it's unbearable." But Listina harbored malice in her heart. She was determined to ruin the wedding. If there was even a sliver of concern in Felix's heart for her, she believed she could succeed.

Once the doctor left, Listina clutched at Felix's sleeve, "Felix, please stay withtonight. My head is spinning. I think I'm going to faint." Felix touched her forehead and found she was indeed feverish, "I'll get you sfever reducer." But Listina leaned into him and murmured, "I don't need medicine. Just helpto bed. My eyes hurt so badly." Without a word, Felix helped her up and they went to the bedroom upstairs.
He had bought the villa for Listina, right next to the Miller family mansion, though he couldn't quite figure out why. By the the realized it, the deed was done.
As they went upstairs and Listina lay in bed, she grabbed his sleeve, "Felix, I'm sweating. Can you helptake off my clothes? It's really hot in here." Her mind was growing foggy, consumed with the thought that she couldn't let Felix leave tonight. She had to keep him here and even snap a photo to send to Carol.
Carol, the high and mighty debutante - surely she wouldn't stand for her man straying. Listina's thoughts were venomous; especially when thinking of Carol's face, she felt even more uncomfortable. She wanted to ruin it, to destroy the pretty face that lured men. Felix glanced at the medicine on the bedside table and realized Listina wasn't feverish from illness, but from the drugs she had taken herself. He remained silent, watching her.
Mistaking his silence for consent, Listina made her move.

Believe me, if you go through with it, I might just hang myself in this villa." "I'll have someone ckeep you company." "No! I want you!" Her voice bechoarse, her grip on his sleeve tightening.
"Felix, remember what your mother said on her deathbed, to take care of me. Is this how you do it? If I die, I'lk tell her everything, and my parents too. They died because of your father he was the driver. He could have avoided the crash, but he was old and slow to react. Felix, you oweso much; you can never repay it all." The room turned cold as Listina realized she might have said too much. She slowly released his sleeve and began to cry.
It was a stifled sob that reminded Felix of the accident. Back then, Listina had cried helplessly, asking when their lives would get better.
He didn't know. All he could think about was survival. To survive, he'd done many things. He had grown up fighting through the mud, but he had always taken good care of Listina.
Adjusting the collar of his suit, he dragged a chair over and sat down, "I'll stay right here. Get ssleep." Listina's heart finally eased a bit, and the corners of her mouth curled, "I knew you'd be good to me." mmMwWLlilOfiflO&1 mmMwWLlilOfiflO&1 mmMwWLliI0fiflO&1 mmMwWLlilofiflo&1 mmMwWLliI0fifl0&1 mmMwWLlilofiflo&1 mmMwWLlilOfiflo&1 mmMwWLlilOfiflO&1 mmMwWLliI0fiflO&1 mmMwWLlilOfiflO&1 mmMwWLliI0fifl0&1 mmMwWLlilOfiflo&1
