Flustered from the previous phone call, Emmett didn’t have the time to distinguish who was calling him.
He slammed the pen stand against the door and yelled in frustration, “Fuck off!”
He was already pissed off by his sister and didn’t have the time to take care of anyone right now.
Alyssa had been standing outside all the time. When she heard the angry roar, she was stunned for a
moment. Then without wasting a second, she turned around and left.
Although she didn’t know why he was so pissed off today, she knew she had no position to interfere
with it.
After a while, Emmett calmed down himself. He raised his head and stared at the ceiling. There were
still so many questions left unanswered when it came to the kidnapping years ago. After what
happened to his mother, he promised himself to avenge her no matter what.
Frank knocked on the door and came with a stack of document. His expression was calm as if he
hadn’t heard the roar from the study a few minutes ago.
Emmett thought of something and raised his head, “Is Alyssa back?”
Frank placed the files on the table, cleared his throat, and said, “Madame had been back for a while
and she was looking for you. See came here…”
Emmett remembered that indeed there was a woman who knocked on the door.
And the only woman who stayed in this villa was Alyssa.
He had chased her away at that time. May be he was too consumed in his thoughts that, he forgot that
he was already married.
Did she look for him on her own initiative?
Was it because she couldn’t resolve the rumors on social media and wanted his help?
Emmett’s black eyes sparkled with interest, and he leaned back into his seat. All the irritation and
frustration from before had vanished and only things left was the contemplation for what the woman
would say.
“Where is she? Get her over here.”
Frank heard his order and went out of the study. After something he knocked on the door. This time
Alyssa was right beside him.
Alyssa pushed the door and entered. Emmett was seated behind the table with the tall executive chair
turned, back towards her.
Under the dim light, all she could see that his pale hands which were on the armrests and the back of
his head. Just like before.
He still didn’t want to show his face to her.
“What do you want?” Emmett’s cold voice echoed through the entire room.
Wasn’t she supposed to ask him this question? But he was asking her instead?
When she came to look for him half an hour ago, he clearly said her to scram. And now he just asked
her to come over just to ask what was going on?
It seemed she was dealing with a man with mood swings. Was this a part of his disability as well?
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtShe tried not to be annoyed. After all, he had treated her quite decently all this time. Perhaps he was
just having a bad day.
Not wanting to beat around the bush, Alyssa directly came to the point, “I want to move out from the
villa.”
Noticing that there was not much reaction of the man, she quickly explained, “I’ll be starting work soon
and it is inconvenient for me to continue living here.”
Her wonderful explanation received only an “Oh.”
Oh?
Should she take it as approval?
What she didn’t notice that Emmett’s face behind the chair darkened intensely. The grip on the armrest
tightened. If he hadn’t enough self-control, he would always have turned around to look at her face.
Yesterday this ugly woman said that she didn’t mind that he couldn’t ‘perform’ and didn’t mind to be
with him. Today, she wanted to move out of the villa?
Dream on!
Alyssa saw that he wasn’t speaking for a long time, and asked, “So are you…”
Emmett sneered and coldly interrupted her, “Do you think it is a hotel? That you can come and go as
you please?”
There was viciousness tied around his voice. It held a warning that could make her blood turn cold.
Alyssa could hear his fury.
Alyssa didn’t under how she had provoked him.
Forget it! If he didn’t want, then she would just stay here. She didn’t want to offend him.
If she considered it from another perspective, someone like Emmett who had some ‘inabilities’ would
be particularly sensitive and easily offended. Maybe he thought that she was leaving him because she
thought that he was ugly?
When Alyssa thought of it in that aspect, her tone softened. “Okay, I understand. I’ll leave if there is
nothing.”
It was Emmett’s first time hearing her speak so gently.
He waved his hand and his face remained unmoved.
“Get out!”
Alyssa sighed. It’s seemed that her softness didn’t work at all. His temper was really awful.
Knowing that she would piss him up, she didn’t bother to ask any more questions and headed out of
the study. It was useless to bicker with him, otherwise, she might be signing her own death wish if she
provoked him any further.
Once the door was closed, Emmett turned around and threw the documents onto the table. Green
veins propped out of his forehead.
Frank looked at his reaction and was wondering why his boss had been losing him temper recently.
Usually, he was a collected man.
After sometimes Emmett calmed himself down and thought of something. He looked up at Frank. “I
remembered that on Alyssa’s profile it was writted that she had graduated from the Film Academy?”
Frank nodded. “Yes Sir. Madame studied Cinematic Literature.”
Emmett smiled in an instant, and looked like a predator looking at prey, “Does that mean that her work
is script writing?”
“Ah… Yes.” Frank was surprised and nodded.
People thought that Emmett was nothing but a cripple and impotent brat that enjoying his father’s
fortune but no one knew that he was actually the boss of the country’s largest entertainment agency,
D’Front entertainment group.
In fact, Emmett had never borrowed his father a dime from his father to pave a way for himself as one
of the most successful entrepreneurs of his time. It was a shame that no one knew about his real
abilities.
Within a short eight years, D’Front entertainment became the global leader in movie industry. It had
created international award winning movie stars. It was the best choice for all budding actors.
If Alyssa really wanted to become a successful screen writer, she would definitely send the resume to
D’Front entertainment.
Frank could predict what Emmett wanted to say the next and nodded, “I’ll do it immediately.”
…
Alyssa submitted her resume to all the film production companies in the city.
However, on the contrary to Emmett’s thoughts, she intentionally left out D’Front Entertainment.
Although, others might think her crazy, she had her own reasons.
Because D’Front Entertainment and the company which Hazel signed with were direct competitors.
Furthermore, it was not like she would get a job if she applied.
The negotiation would take a few days, so she wanted to settle the news released by Skylar before the
interviews began.
Thinking for a while, she called Skylar.
“What’s the matter? Speak!” Skylar spoke with arrogance as usual.
Alyssa pinched her nose such that it sounded like she had cried for a long time, “Sister, I wasn’t
thinking straight when I called you last time. I’m sorry. Please don’t be angry with me. Please don’t
harm my mom. Can we meet outside? Just two of us, I really don’t want to end our fight like this.”
Skylar snorted. “Who do you think you are? Why do you think that I will meet you?”
Alyssa knew very well that Skylar wanted her to plead. She lowered her voice and begged, “I beg you.”
“Louder. I can’t hear you.”
“I am begging you.”
“Okay…” Skylar snorted, “You’re still as docile as before.”
“Thank you so much.”
Alyssa put down the phone and her eyes were blank.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmSkylar, you must be very proud of yourself, right?
Just wait. Soon your name would be ruined.
Alyssa took out her phone and glanced at the numbered that were sent by Hazel. These were the
numbers of sales agents as well as several paparazzi’s.
She chose some random numbers and sent them a message. “Will you be interested in ‘A Ugly Wench
Mad After Money’ drama?”
The news of her ‘stealing’ Skylar’s fiancée was still very popular and it was obvious that everyone were
willing to take some good pictures.
Seeing the hurried replies, Alyssa smiled. She sent him the time and address of the meeting place.
“Just you wait Skylar. I’ll give you a big gift.” She thought and picked up the bag, leaving Emmett’s villa.
As soon as Alyssa stepped out, Frank went to the study and informed Emmett. “Madame has left the
house.”
Emmett lifted his head and looked at him. ‘What’s does it have to do with me’ was written on his face.
Though he has already been used to the chilling look of Emmett, Frank still swallowed his saliva
uncomfortably.
“I think Madame is going to deal with Skylar.” After everything had happened in a few hours, even
Frank was curious how Alyssa was going to deal with Skylar. And he felt Emmett also must be
interested in this matter.
Unexpectedly, Emmett only replied, “Ok.”
Frank was surprised. Did he guess wrongly?
However, in the next second, Emmett stood up and grabbed his coat. “I haven’t seen big cousin for a
while. I should go and have a meal with him.”
After that he headed out without looking back.
Frank, “…”
If memory served him right, Big Cousin was still overseas and not back yet.
The boss should at least find a reasonable excuse…
Although Emmett’s excuse was clumsy, Frank didn’t dare to expose him.
…
Emmett followed Alyssa and drove to the small restaurant. He looked around, there weren’t many
people here. So it could be considered as a good place for this meeting.
He leaned against the driver seat and looked, as the woman walked into the restaurant. After about half
an hour later, Skylar finally arrived.
She was dressed as usual and twisted her nose in disgust as if she was going to enter in some
garbage dump. Emmett couldn’t help but sneer. She was the so called eldest daughter of the Moore
Family.
Following that another man with casually dressed but looked suspicious entered the restaurant.
Being the boss of D’Fronts for so many years, he could tell at a glance that this man was paparazzi.
Emmett smirked. Looked like, his waiting didn’t go in vain. The show was about to begin.
