Chapter 1844
Drover looked up at me, then stood up and greetedwith a smile. "I didn't expect the documents to be
personally delivered by you." He sounded surprised, and his handsface was filled with astonishment as well.
1 did not know why he had such a big reaction, but I did not ask any more questions. | merely wanted to
complete the task quickly. | handed the document Theo gaveto Drover. "These are the documents. Please
have a look at them."
"Alright. You've worked hard, Mrs. Grant."
Every the referred toas Mrs. Grant, it madeeven more uncomfortable. | pursed my lips and said
slowly, "Mr.
Drover, | was hoping that you'd refer toas Miss Lane at work. It's more appropriate."
Hearing this, Drover was stunned for a moment before smiling brightly. "Will do, Miss Lane."
He was grinning from ear to ear. "Please sit, Miss Lane. I'll have to have a close look at these."

I sat down across from him and looked around Drover's office while he looked at the files.
As | turned to the side, | noticed something that looked like a display screen, which also looked a lot like a
surveillance system.
| understood in an instant that the scanner at the door of his office was probably connected to this display
screen. Drover could clearly see what the person who
cin was carrying, just like when one went through the security check at the airport. He could keep people
with bad intentions out of the door. This stuwas a whole new world for me, and it surely opened up my eyes.
"Miss Lane."
Drover's voice sounded in my ears, and | quickly regained my senses and looked at him. "Do you have a
question, Mr. Drover?"
"I've read the contents in detail, and many of the ideas are quite new. I'm rather interested in them, but some
things aren't very clear here, so can | ask you more about them?" Drover was asking in such a gentlemanly
manner that | felt somewhat embarrassed.
| smiled awkwardly and nodded. "Of course, but | just participated in this
project, so | probably can't give you a proper explanation. If | were to get anything wrong, | hope you'll correct
me.’
"You're too polite, Miss Lane. | think you're very talented in this field."
His compliment madeeven more embarrassed. “What did you want to ask, Mr. Drover?"
In the next two hours. Drover asked
couple of times. there were any shortcomings on my part, he would correct them in due course. Hence, | still
found our
conversation quite pleasant.
It seemed that Drover had the sthought as well, and | had a feeling that the way he looked athad
changed.
"Although you're not deeply involved in this industry, Miss Lane, you have the guts to express your own opinions
and ideas. | admire that very much."

"Please stop complimentingnow, Mr. Drover. I'm quite clear about how mediocre my knowledge is when
compared to yours. Do you have any more questions?"
Seeing that it was getting late, | thought about leaving soon.
Drover seemed to have seen
through my thoughts and did not try to makestay any longer. He
smiled and said, "I have no furtheret
questions. Thank you for specially making the trip out here, Miss Lane. Please do head back and let President
Grant know that the plan is approved."
"Alright, thank you." | stood up. "Then, I'll get going now, Mr. Drover."
"I hope I'll see you again next time, Miss Lane."
| constantly felt like something was off when | was staring into his eyes. It was just an ordinary sentence, but it
madefeel a little scared. | nodded tightly and walked to the door. Just then, | saw Drover flicking the switch
under his desk with his hand. The door opened up.
As | nodded at him again, | finally started to walk out of this place. It was just that the eyes behindseemed to
be stuck on my back the entire time...
