"I guess the world on the other side of the crystal is being reflected here…" Jake thought.
Regardless, the boss was taking its time recovering and attacking again. Jake didn't want to believe that the monster was waiting for another wing to grow, but he couldn't discard the possibility, so he decided to make his move…
Jake began to run toward the direction the boss disappeared, and he found some signs of blood, but those eventually disappeared. With a high recovery factor, it wasn't weird that the wound would close that fast… Still, Jake didn't expect that he would soon find a wall rather than the enemy.
Eventually, he began to run around the area while he slowly decreasing the range of the circle that he made. Thanks to that, he ultimately found the crystal on the opposite side of the room's entrance. By knowing where that was, Jake didn't have to worry about causing a dungeon break.
Jake summoned a wall of dark flames and then fired Mana Blades through it and toward all directions of the room. He was using a lot of mana, but at least he was also checking a few things about the place… while the dark flames couldn't offer much when it comes to luminosity, Mana Blade could shine a bit, and then Jake found some feet marks on the walls and on the ceiling.
"Even though that fucking beast can't fly, it can climb the walls like that…" Jake thought.
Despite the massive rain of attacks, Jake didn't feel even once that he had hit the enemy. However, he still smirked in the end. All those attacks helped him determine where the enemy could be.
All of a sudden, Jake jumped while using Explosives Touch and then enhanced his sword with the dark flames. The enemy that was standing right above the crystal suddenly flinched due to the surprise. Thanks to that, the beast was unable to move away when Jake swung his sword.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtAt that point in time, even Jake was surprised when his attack managed to cut off one of the monster's legs. Flames of Wrath had leveled up a lot in the last battle, but Jake didn't think that its attack would have increased that much as well… regardless, Jake learned his lesson and moved his sword to block most of the enemy's scream when it happened…
Since the attack had been infused with mana, his sword, added with the power of dark flames, was perfect to deal with it. Jake began to fall, and the beast could no longer stay on the ceiling using only one leg. Moreover, even if it could, moving around would be impossible.
The boss began to bombard Jake with Electric Spears, but the attacks were too direct, and Jake blocked them with his sword. Still, they worked to prevent Jake from moving when he landed. Even in that situation, the boss had enough mana to keep firing the electric spears like a machine gun and keep Jake stun locked on the same spot.
"Is this for real?" Jake thought while he was unable to move. "This isn't a broken game, damn it…"
The electric current was starting to damage Jake's body… it was only natural given the magic power of the beast in front of him and its mana pool. In the end, Jake was forced to use Flash and then point his sword at the enemy's head. Even with a single leg, the monster managed to jump to the side and dodge the attack. Electric Aura still could make the beast fairly fast… Still, Jake chased the monster while using Flash.
Eventually, Jake managed to predict where the enemy would go, and he changed the direction of his Flash when he moved. Jake's sword began to pierce the left chest of the monster, and while the creature screamed in pain, it moved its head toward his neck and then bit it.
Jake felt a shiver run down his spine alongside the pain, and then his health began to be drained… if real Vampirims worked like that, then Jake would be fine with the Lesser Vampirism. Regardless, it wasn't time to think about that… his sword stopped piercing the enemy's body since it was healing faster than it could be damaged… his dark flames were supposed to prevent that, but all rules have exceptions.
While in that stance, Jake activated Steel Tornado, and while the sword barely moved when the tip was inside the enemy's body, it made a lot of blood gush from the wound. At the same time, it made the enemy stop sucking his blood. In the end, Jake spammed that skill over and over again until he left a wide cut on the giant's bat body. The grip of the bite on his neck grew weaker, and then Jake used Steel Tornado time and time again to open the wound even more… with each hit, the monster became more and more unable to react…

Jake sighed, and then he noticed the darkness of the dungeon disappearing… in the end, the creature was what caused all that… Nevertheless, Jake won and was a lot faster than expected. The enemies had gotten a lot stronger in the last challenges, but he wasn't falling behind.
"Now that the darkness inside the dungeon disappeared, those guys will probably show up, so I should get going… the boss didn't drop anything either, so I guess my luck isn't being as effective as before," Jake said while scratching the back of his head. "It would be better if I take my time and rest a bit since I have no idea what to expect on the next mission after all this shit…"

"Wait, what?" Jake frowned when he checked the mission list.
First of all, Jake couldn't repeat the new missions, while he still could access those words… second of all, the new missions were a lot different than usual. Exterminate and steal things… that sounded like something the criminals would do… why would the system change stuff like that all of a sudden?
"Now that I think about it, we have been doing these missions without caring if they are good or bad for the world…" Jake rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "While it crystals, it seems that we can invade other worlds. We know nothing of the dungeon masters' goals."
That would explain why Care was like that, and all the bosses that could talk seemed so antagonistic. Well, it was only natural that people have been getting in their way just because something that they didn't understand was offering them rewards.
Jake didn't know if those missions were good or bad. He would see once he found the targets… but he would have to keep his guard up. Because unless he completes them, he will be unable to get more fame and thus more missions… which will stagnate his progress.
Regardless, Jake proceeded to the next mission, and he frowned when he saw himself appearing in typical grasslands. Considering the type of enemies and the mission, he assumed that he would be sent to another world like the previous one. More cyberpunk like…
"The enemies are golems so that they won't smell… so you guys won't be of much use to track them," Jake thought while looking at the crystal wolves. "you won't be able to eat them either, so your power won't grow here… I should have considered that before coming here."
There were no signs of battles around, so Jake decided to do the usual to check the area: jump. This time, Jake didn't find any cities, towns, villages, or dungeons, for that matter in all directions. That being said, he found a massive line… when he focused his eyes in that direction, he realized that something heavy had passed there… possibly, an army of iron golems.
When Jake approached the area, he confirmed that it was the case, and they were heading to his right side. It was hard to tell their numbers, but it was at least one thousand… they probably came from the direction of the dungeon, but Jake was more interested in knowing why they left in such a large group. Iron golems weren't supposed to be that smart… then again, when it comes to monsters, Jake was only good at hunting them, not understanding them.
"Well, whatever they might be doing in other regions away from the dungeon, it isn't my problem… probably," Jake thought. "Let's head to their base and slowly decrease their numbers while I get used to them."
Although that world seemed full of life, Jake didn't find any signs of civilization or animals. Only the golems left their traces behind... it was really weird… would all the worlds become like that once the invasion in some worlds are succeeded? All animal life would be destroyed?
