A thousand tiny needles manifested out of the wind, emerged around Dilan.
He released them with a shocking acceleration while exerting the Zephyr Step movement technique with wind-attributed mana to shoot forward himself.
Almost two weeks had passed since his battle with Nial had begun, and Dilan was able to tell a few things about his opponents.
Nial's dark energy supply was almost infinite, but the same could not be said about Tyrant and Kaeldur. They had to pay more attention to the use of their powers, otherwise, they were bound to lose more than just a few limbs.
The Demons' natural regeneration was strong, and they could enhance it with the use of dark energy. However, it would force them to use lots of dark energy. Through this, their combat prowess would decrease for a short time because their dark energy would have to fully focus on the regeneration of their wounds.
That was also how Kaeldur had healed his arm, by using a tremendous amount of dark energy, mana and time. Yet, in exchange for being able to heal his arm, it looked like the Demon had entered a weakened state.
Instead of being able to keep up with Dilan like before, Kaeldur had now become slower, and weaker than his opponent.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThis was to Dilan's advantage and he made use of this, cutting off Kaeldur's other arm in the process. Kaeldur attempted to turn his arm into darkness currents just before Dilan's slash impacted on him, but the Demon was a quarter of a second too late. Dilan had forcefully dispelled Nial's darkness domain in a range of two meters while attacking the Demon.
Dilan had summoned his own domain, the domain of Destruction, preventing Kaeldur from changing his shape for a short moment. That moment was everything Dilan had required to use the 72 Slashes of Destruction Sword Style and an Immortality Aura to cut off Kaeldur's other arm.
In exchange for the arm he cut off of his opponents, Dilan was killed, and his head burst open as a huge darkness mace smashed against the back of his head with a terrifying speed.
But that was fine because Dilan had activated his Astral Projection as often as possible. He was killed so often, either by being beheaded or getting his head smashed like a watermelon, that his mastery of Astral Projection was near perfect.
This was a great boon even if the reason for his gains was rather depressive; his constant death.
Nonetheless, his body could survive without a head for a while after the repeated deaths by now. He could move headlessly, which was exactly what he had done after finishing his attack.
Tyrant's attacks were burdensome because the Giant Demon was fast, and physically strong, and he could use his dark energy to reinforce his attacks.
It was also possible for the Demons to access Nial's domain of darkness. Dilan had often been overwhelmed because of the darkness domain, but he was able to adjust to it, by now.
That took him a while, but it was not as if he couldn't fail and improve. Whenever he failed, he might die, but he would heal just a moment later.
He could always rinse and repeat until his attacks would finally hit the intended target.
That was how he ended up attacking Nial with a thousand wind needles at the same time. His mana control was terrifying after 10,000 years of practice, to the extent that not even Nial paled in comparison.
The Eternal Darkness was certainly more talented than Dilan, but the Undying was not someone who had to bother about that.
In the end, the only thing that mattered was who emerged victorious in the battle.
He wanted to make sure to receive the best possible True Destruction trait so that he could finally make up for his lacking talent in that regard. Thus, it was time for him to counterattack rather than hold back and slowly wearing out his opponent.
Wearing out Nial seemed to be quite difficult, either way. Nial Orin could control the mana in a range of hundreds of kilometers. Thus, the mana that resided in the entire City of Trials was congregating above the Colosseum's Arena after a few days had passed.
By now, Dilan was also able to access the massive amount of mana above the arena, which was why he could use his Mana a little bit more recklessly.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmHowever, even if he was able to use his mana more recklessly, it was still incomparable to the sheer infinite amount of mana and dark energy that Nial could use at any time.
Dilan had yet to grasp how Nial was able to do this because it didn't make any sense that the Eternal darkness had infinite mana. Someone at the Deux rank was not able to horde more mana than a True God, that was impossible, literally!
He was still trying to unravel Nial's secret, and so far his efforts had proved to be utterly futile.
His thousand wind needles were deflected by the sudden emergence of a huge wall of darkness that divided the entire Colosseum's arena in two sections.
Dilan and Tyrant were left alone, which made a smile appear on the face of both parties.
"Finally alone, right?" Dilan asked, just for Tyrant to roar out loud while he bashed his huge darkness mace into the ground.
Tyrant burst forward while summoning two walls of darkness a few meters to Dilan's right and left. Large blades shot out of the walls of darkness, preventing Dilan from going anywhere except straight ahead. However, that was exactly what he wanted to do, to begin with.
There was no need to be afraid of Tyrant, no matter how huge, or physically strong the Giant Demon was. In the end, the Tyrant was just a subordinate of Nial, with a different set of skills, and weaknesses!
Slashing his sword to the side, Dilan conjured the Immortality Aura. Yet, instead of weaving the Destruction Domain, or shrouding his blade with a layer of destruction, Dilan had planned something entirely different for the Tyrant.
"How about we bring some light into the darkness?"
