Melanie no longer used the president’s exclusive elevator. Instead, she went to the office five ninutes
early every day and used the common elevator with the ordinary employees.

go of him, and looked at him mischievously. “Oh, no! Melanie saw us. What hould we do?”
ugene raised his eyebrows and glanced at Melanie. “Whatever.”

can’t handle it, I can teach you. I’m a little busy now.”

fter Melanie went to see Eugene, she realized why Viola looked so unhappy.
lelanie looked at the rabbit on the desk and quickly averted her gaze. She asked Eugene, ren’t you
afraid that Viola will be jealous if you take me back to Scott’s residence?”
agene’s father, Cedric, had an upcoming birthday party. Eugene’s mother, Stella,

But at that time, Eugene did not bother to prepare Melanie when he clearly knew that Melanie would

Melanie’s mouth twitched. “What if I refuse?”
“You can.” Eugene did not care much. He spun the pen in his hand and placed it firmly on the table.
Eugene said lightly, “As long as you think it through.”
Only they understood the meaning of these words. Melanie was silent for a moment before she
nodded. “Fine.”
On Cedric’s birthday, Melanie went to the parking lot to wait for Eugene after work because they
agreed to go there together.
However, Eugene never came.
Eugene did not respond to Melanie’s messages, so Melanie had no choice but to return to the
president’s office when it was almost time for the birthday dinner.
But no one was inside. Melanie’s face was glum as she asked another colleague who was still working
overtime, “Where is Eugene?”
The colleague was stunned for a moment. “Mr. Scott left with Ms. Shaw.”
