If a martial artist was Davey’s disciple, that martial artist had to reach the Transcendent realm within a year, no matter how excruciating the process might be. There would be no easy path once someone bechis disciple. Davey, who slowly gathered his massive energy, was that kind of mentor.

"Ah! The sect leader has escaped!" Hyo-Yeong cried out in surprise.

The red-haired woman, along with the leader of the Ak Rim Sect, had disappeared.

"Let them go," Davey said with a chilling smile. “I’ve put a constraint on them, so they won't get far."

He then approached Ja-Seong and patted his back before turning his full attention to Cheon Geum. "Are you guys done now?"

"Yes," Cheon Geum replied.

"It would be wise not to mindlessly wander around since you are already dead. The ending won't be pleasant."

"..."

"If you understand, ascend to the cycle of reincarnation." Davey waved his hand. "Raising a disciple really is an affair that doesn't pay off. It’s so much work."

[9th Level Ultimate Holy Magic]

[Saint Sanctuary]

"Master... Master!! I have done wrong! Please do not go!"

"No, those who need to go must go. That’s the law of nature," Cheon Geum said with a small smile that left his lips all too soon. "Take good care of your sisters."

"..."

Cheon Geum quickly turned his head to face Davey.

He then quietly and respectfully bowed his head, saying, "I see everything so clearly now that I'm dead. I won't forget your great mercy to this foolish human soul, even after I ascend to the cycle of reincarnation."

"The longer you delay, the more irreparable your soul will be. So you must ascend now."

"..."

The soul of Cheon Geum gradually rose into the cycle of reincarnation, following the power of the Saint Sanctuary. Rather than summoning a hijacked version, Davey was recovering and summoning the tattered soul.

Ja-Seong, who was Davey's second disciple, had begun to fully harness his strength as he started wielding the Heavenly Destroyer Divine Art. He was also able to say his goodbyes to the master he had longed to see.

White feathers, which seemed to be vestiges of the light that was gradually fading, settled down. In the depths of the still silence, Ja-Seong, who had fallen to his knees with tears streaming down his face, looked up at Davey, who took a step closer to him.

"Sir."

"Take these people and leave," Davey said plainly, his face devoid of any emotion.

"Eh?"

"Get going," Davey ordered again before he erupted with an inscrutable power once again.

A sound that seemed like a jewel shattering echoed as the outside of the partially ruined chamber began to darken ominously.

"Yeah, you thought you could run, but you’re in the underground."

Spheres of fire then began to descend from the sky.

[9th Circle Great Area Magic]

[Great Meteor Shower]

The sky seemed ablaze, and it was such a staggering spectacle.

"What..."

"What is that..."

Even the strongest martial artist would wonder if they could cause giant meteors of flthat were meters in size to fall from the sky. The very idea was absurd. Yet, Davey was making it happen. The sky was warped with just a gesture of his hand, and meteors started to fall, turning vast kilometers of the surroundings into a veritable inferno.

"Aah!!!" Screaming, Ye Hyun-Hwa and Dang Yu-Rin hunched down with their eyes closed.

Despite their suprmartial skills, they were just powerless humans in the face of a natural calamity. Watching the massive fiery downpour that resembled divine wrath, indescribable terror flared in their chests, nearly consuming all the strength in their legs.

With every impact, the ground quaked terribly, creating enormous craters and flames in the impact zone. And Davey was the one causing this horrifying disaster. The white feathers scattered in all directions, and the holy power felt so alien. The flames seemed like a catastrophe that could engulf the entire world and ultimately end it.

But Davey was far from done. So he created an invisible, barrier-like protective shield around everyone present and then raised one hand.

"Ifrit, Lavatein."

Crimson flames began to gather in his hand as soon as the names left his lips. Then a flaming sword, shining so bright that it hurt to look at, settled completely in his grip, emitting a violently flickering current. What he had shown in the previous battle against the powerful martial artists was just a fraction of his power.

"That... That is the true face of Young Master Davey.."

"Indeed, it’s not that he did not have a substantial amount of qi..."

An immeasurable amount of mana was pressing down on the entire area. Kwak Do-Young realized that Davey was the master of all this energy and showed a look of bitterness.

"I was no more than a frog in a well."

"..."

Kwak Do-Young was humbled by the grand display of power. So how much more humbling was it for the others to see such strength and greatness? Even Princess Ye Hyun-Hwa, who had seen a fair share of Davey’s abilities, felt the same.

"Oh my god... Ever since he kicked a giant gorilla's butt and killed a tiger with his own teeth, I thought it was odd but..." She had never imagined that such a being could possibly exist in reality.

And there he stood, holding the colossal flaming sword. He was a sight that was reminiscent of a god of destruction.

In awe of the view that was equally picturesque and chilling, everyone was silent when Davey suddenly began talking to himself.

"If I use this, the area around us will becan inferno for years to come..." He murmured as if in contemplation. “It might sound like a joke at first, but...”

Chills ran down everybody’s spine, knowing how Davey’s words were not a joke nor a lie.

In reflex, Ye Hyun-Hwa and Dang Yu-Rin cried out in panic. "What are you saying?!"

"I don't know! Whatever! I’ll just torch it!"

After all, what was there to dread after a meteor shower had already been summoned by him?

Davey’s actions had evoked a sense of admiration from everyone, but as his actions had becdriven by impulse, it now left everyone in total shock.

* * *

The Ak Rim Sect leader, who had fled from Davey, gasped for breath as he looked at the red-haired woman guiding him. His body would not respond. It was as though a curse was repelling the movement of his body against his will.

"Sect Leader, we are almost there."

And as he and the red-haired woman rushed out of the underground chamber and into the forest that was dark despite the broad daylight, their faces were marred with undeniable fear.

"Huff... Huff..."

"Sect Leader!"

"Damn... My qi isn't responding."

"I'm sorry. I should have served you better."

"Shut up!"

All those who had followed him were wiped out. The Ak Rim Sect entities, who were nearby, must have been annihilated by that damned young man named Davey, since no one responded to any of his calls.

So now he had to escape. He had to get away and seek shelter in the Country of Hwan! Otherwise, he would face death.

Sounds of calamity in the distance reached his ears. Though the massive trees obstructed his view, there was the feel of the ground rumbling, and heat transmitted from whatever destruction was being wrought. Then, at that moment...

Breathing roughly, the sect leader allowed himself a brief moment of respite, resting his hands on his knees and bowing his head down. His eyes were glued on the ground as he tried to catch his breath. But when he looked up again a couple of seconds later, he then realized that the red-haired woman had disappeared.

"Where have you gone? Where are you!!"

She was the only one left, and now, she disappeared. Did she betray him?

It was proven to be not the case when the leader walked toward where she was mere moments ago. There, he found a weapon of hers dropped on the ground. It was as if she had just vanished into thin air.

So now he was all alone. On top of that, his qi was not working. He could not use his power as a martial artist, and he pinned it on Davey, although he was not certain what exactly Davey did to him. In this dire situation, he was injured as well, so twas his enemy as the situation would becmore dangerous.

A rattling sound echoed throughout the dark forest, and as soon as it reached his ears, he lifted his head and his posture stiffened in vigilance.

“Yoon-Hwa! Where’s Yoon-Hwa? Who are you?!”

Normally, the sect leader would not panic. But everything seemed terrifying after fleeing from someone too far beyond the realm of powerful beings. His face was ashen with fear as he shouted and frantically surveyed his surroundings.

Thump...

[Hide very, very well.]

Thump…

Once again, a wooden plaque cflying from somewhere.

[Don’t even let your hair show.]

Creak... Creeeeak...

There was a sinister sound, and goosebumps spread all over the sect leader’s body as he let out a loud scream of horror, his eyes widened in fear. It was as if he had been possessed by a ghost. With immense fright that caused him to tremble, the leader turned his head. And there, he saw it.

A woman, whose face was covered by long hair that reached the ground, was looking at him from afar with her long arms hanging down. The woman's skin was pale, and her ears were elongated and clearly not human-like. Then there was her hair that seemed to be alive as it fluttered in the air. In the silent tranquility, the sect leader stood silent and frozen. Then he felt a chilling gaze from between the strands of the hair-covered woman.

"Hide... Really well..." A little girl's singing voice echoed. "Don’t even let your hair show…"

The girl sounded so real, and her voice seemed to be drawing nearer and nearer to him. "Let's play together..."

What else was there to say? The frightening woman had made the sect leader shake so uncontrollably that he staggered backward. And that was when he felt an odd sensation in his hand. Instinctively, he looked down at what he was holding.

It was not his treasured sword. Instead, there was a doll made from silk and cotton in his hand. But it wasn’t just any other doll. It was a gruesfigure, stained with what appeared to be bright red blood. What made it worse for the sect leader was that the doll seemed almost alive as it looked up at him. It was so eerie that his eyes widened in absolute terror, his eyeballs could almost fall off. He also screamed at the top of his lungs as he flung the doll away.

"Uhh... uhh... Aaaahhhhhhhhhhh!!!" It was truly a terrible scream born from pure horror, and it resounded all over the dark forest.
