Wen Rou stood behind Qin Yue and mumbled, “When I asked Sister Qingqing, she said that you were already aware of it, so I…”
Lu Lixing immediately said, “Hand over the room card.”
Wen Rou passed him the room card.
Lu Lixing walked briskly toward the 19th floor.
After swiping the card, he entered the room. The bed was a pile of messy sheets bundled together into a single mound. It was not possible to see where it started or ended. To the side of the bed, there was some medicine and a glass of water that had long cooled.
Lu Lixing stood at the bedside, he pulled open the tightly wrapped sheets to reveal Jin Qingqing’s head.
“Ji Qingqing, wake up.”
Ji Qingqing breathed heavily, not showing any sign of waking.
Lu Lixing looked at her flushed face. Droplets of sweat had formed on her forehead. Placing his hand on her forehead, his brow knitted when he felt the burning temperature coming from it.
Then, Qin Yue and Wen Rou entered the room.
Lu Lixing glanced at them. “Is there a hospital nearby?”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt“Yes, there’s one”
“Go start the car.”
Qin Yue nodded and headed downstairs to prepare the car.
Lu Lixing pulled Ji Qingqing out from the sheets that she had bundled herself in, her pyjamas were practically soaked, but the temperature of her body was burning hot.
He instructed Wen Rou to get Ji Qingqing’s coat from upstairs. After helping her put it on, he lifted her up by the waist and headed outside.
Even after such a big commotion, Ji Qingqing did not wake. Her head rested against his chest and her arms drooped listlessly to the side. No matter how much one called out, she remained asleep.
Wen Rou followed behind Lu Lixing. She was almost in tears and she asked worriedly, “Is Sister Qingqing okay? It’s all my fault, I should have dissuaded her more.”
Lu Lixing assured her, “Don’t worry, we’ll know the results after getting a check-up at the hospital.”
The two of them took the lift downstairs. And there they met with the filming crew who were heading back after packing up. Seeing Lu Lixing carrying Ji Qingqing who was still asleep, out of concern, they couldn’t help but to ask what happened.
However Lu Lixing didn’t have any time to answer them. Without uttering a single word, he made his way past the group with a cold expression on his face.
Qin Yue’s car waited outside as Lu Lixing carried her into the backseat. They drove towards a nearby hospital.
On the way there, Ji Qingqing managed to wake up once, probably due to the bumpy road. Opening her eyes confusedly, she swept a glance over the car’s interior before closing them again. “What’s going on?” She mumbled.
Lu Lixing replied, “We’re sending you to the hospital.”
Ji Qingqing’s eyebrows furrowed. “No need for that, I’ll be fine after sleeping.”
Saying that, she went back to sleep.
20 minutes later, they reached the hospital.
Lu Lixing carried her out of the car and headed to the hospital’s emergency department.
Fortunately, the area was quite remote and there were no patients in the emergency room. Upon seeing Lu Lixing carrying an unconscious woman inside, the doctor there assumed that it was a serious injury and immediately called over the supervising doctor that was on-duty.
Lu Lixing left inside her inside the emergency room and waited outside with Qin Yue and Wen Rou.
“Brother Qin, Sister Qingqing will be okay, right?”
“Brother Qin, nothing will happen to Sister Qingqing, right?”
Qin Yue did not answer her.
“I heard that a high fever can cause brain damage…”
Qin Yue chided, “Don’t overthink, it’s not serious.”

It’s just a normal cold. Lu Lixing thought to himself.
10 minutes later, the door opened.
The doctor stepped out of the emergency room and removed his mask.
“Doctor, how did it go?”
“It’s not serious, she just has a fever at 39℃. The suggested treatment here would be an injection and the fever will most likely subside later. After sleeping, it will probably be gone tomorrow, so there’s no need for you all to worry.”
“She doesn’t need an infusion?”
“She doesn’t.”
“Thank you doctor.”
The three of them heaved a sigh of relief.
Lu Lixing wordlessly entered the emergency room. He stroked her forehead. It was still burning hot.
Then, they waited outside the emergency room for a while. Half an hour later, a nurse came and took her temperature. “Her fever has started to subside. Since her condition is stable, you all can bring her back.”
Lu Lixing lifted her, “Head back to the hotel.”
