Chapter 109
Chapter 109. Captive Warrior (1)
In the ruins of an abandoned temple located west of the Dwarf village, the statue erected in front of the entrance lay in ruins, leaving no clue as to which deity the temple once worshipped.
— Or so it seemed.
Among the pedestals near the temple’s entrance, there was one with a small, movable stone statue placed on it.
The statue depicted a petite girl with long hair flowing down her back.
She held a die symbolizing games in her right hand, she grasped a wine bottle symbolizing pleasure in her left hand.
This world’s inhabitants would recognize this stone statue as a likeness of the evil god, Lathima, who presides over games and pleasure.
Thus, the temple ruins were adorned with these makeshift idols of the wicked god.
In a chamber deep within, a woman was currently held captive.
She was a Dwarf woman.
Her appearance could also be mistaken for that of a chubby young Human girl, which many Dwarf men would find attractive.
The Dwarf woman’s arms were raised above her head as if in a cheer, suspended from the ceiling by chains.
Her chainmail, a symbol of her defeat, had been removed and cast aside on the ground.
“Ugh…”
Berga, the Dwarf warrior, who had lost consciousness, slowly began to open her eyelids.
Berga found herself in a cold stone room.
It was a place unfamiliar to her.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtSomeone must’ve brought her here while she was unconscious.
In front of her stood a Dwarf man.
Sitting in a chair, he rested his cheek on his hand and smirked, while Berga quietly glared at him.
“…Gordon. What the hell is going on?”
“Hehehe, so you’re awake, Berga. As you can see, you’ve been captured. You’ve fallen into my clutches.”
The one before the captive Berga was Gordon, one of the dwarfs residing in the same village as her.
In Berga’s impression, Gordon was an unremarkable man.
He neither worked diligently as a craftsman nor contributed much to the community, constantly complaining about his poor treatment within the village.
One could hardly praise him for having a decent character.
Occasionally, though, Berga caught glimpses of him trying his best to be more serious and committed.
Perhaps it was because Berga had constantly urged him to work seriously.
Therefore, while Berga did not respond to his numerous proposals, she didn’t hold a definitive dislike for him either.
Accepting his offer of drinks and consuming them without suspicion was also due to that reason.
For a Dwarf warrior, it wasn’t uncommon to have a drink while on guard duty.
There were no Dwarf whose work would get hindered by a moderate amount of alcohol.
Yes, under normal circumstances, Berga would never lose consciousness from just a little alcohol.
Unless she had been drugged with something special–
“…Gordon. I don’t know what your intentions. But stop this right now. We can still settle this as a mere mistake.”
“Hah! You’re still acting high and mighty even in this situation, Berga. I’ve always wanted to mess you up real good. I couldn’t help it.”
Gordon stood up and slowly approached the captive Berga.
Berga tried to wriggle free from this situation, but all she heard was the jingling of the chains suspending her in the air.
“Ku…! Cut it out, Gordon! This is no time for jokes! It won’t be settled lightly from here!”
“I know, Berga. This is no joke. I’m dead serious.”
Gordon’s eyes harbored a hint of madness.
His hand reached out towards Berga’s body.
He tore Berga’s clothes without hesitation.
— Some time passed.
Gordon unleashed his twisted desires upon the captive prey, and Berga had no choice but to endure.
Then, from somewhere, two figures arrived at the scene.
They approached Gordon and Berga, where the distorted desires collided with the one who had to endure.
Berga vaguely saw the two newcomers.
They weren’t the rescuers who had come to save her.
Both wore pitch-black robes, their hoods pulled low.
Their faces were not visible, but judging by their height and physique, they were not Dwarf.
Most likely Human.
“Have you had your fill, Gordon-dono?”

Berga somehow sensed what was happening.
Ah, these two must be the masterminds.
She couldn’t believe a small-minded person like Gordon could conceive and execute such a grand plan.
But if that was the case, what was their objective?
She didn’t know.
She didn’t know, but–
“…Gordon, you’re being used by these people.”
Berga muttered those words to the man who had humiliated her.
Upon hearing that, Gordon’s eyes widened.
Meanwhile, the two figures in black robes exchanged glances and burst into deranged laughter.
“Kuhahaha! This Dwarf woman is quite sharp!”
“She’s completely different from Gordon-dono, who didn’t suspect anything until now!”
“What…!? Wh-What’s going on!?:Gwaaaaah!”
“This is what’s happening, Gordon-dono.:We’ve given you the pleasure you desired. You should be grateful as you die.”
One of the figures in the black robe pierced Gordon’s left chest with a “sword” they held in their hand.
After writhing in agony, Gordon breathed his last.
The figure in the black robe casually discarded the foolish Dwarf’s corpse like trash with the sword in hand.
Then, they turned towards the captive Berga and offered a respectful gesture.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Berga-dono. We are followers of the god Lathima, who presides over games and pleasure.”
