Mao Tianyun and Mu Chenfeng had fallen under mind control. Led by Mao Tianyun, Dahong’s group of fifty boldly entered the independent space.
The people in the surrounding palace halls felt curious, but Mao Tianyun paid them no mind, leading the group directly to a grand hall.
The hall doors slammed shut behind them.
After a brief period, the doors reopened. Mao Tianyun emerged with the fifty white-robed individuals, followed by a large number of guards, who now acted extremely respectful.
The guards spread out, each accompanied by a robed individual, dispersing in all directions. Before long, everyone within the small space had succumbed to mind control.
Once everyone was under control, Dahong led the white-robed individuals to the hall where Houqing was.
Mao Tianyun pushed open the hall doors.
“What is this?” Houqing demanded, angered by the intrusion.
“Houqing, I have a question for you!” Mao Tianyun replied coldly.
”Couldn’t you have knocked? Mao Tianyun? Who are these people?” Houqing asked, his eyes flickering between Mao Tianyun and the group of white-robed individuals.
“Look into their eyes, and you’ll know!” Mao Tianyun shouted.
Before he could react, Houqing had instinctively locked gazes with Dahong, whose eyes glowed red. In a flash, Houqing felt dazed.
“Oh no! Mind control? Impossible, this line of inheritance was lost long ago. Could it be from Jiang Lianshan’s Divine Dao Shaman Canon?” Houqing struggled in surprise.
Mao Tianyun immediately drove the fire-attributed laws, trapping Houqing. Normally, Houqing would be able to break free, but with his mind bound, he could not resist and fell into a predicament.
“All together!” Dahong commanded.
“Yes!” The fifty white-robed individuals simultaneously gave off red light from their eyes as they stared at Houqing’s eyes.
“You… You…!” Houqing was shocked and angry.
“You live up to being the wind-attributed zombie ancestor. To think you can resist my mind control. However, you won’t last long!” Dahong said coldly.
“Elder Sister, Elder Sister, cout quickly!” Houqing shouted in a daze.
“It’s no use. We set up a ritual array outside this hall. Your voice can’t get out!” Dahong said coldly.
With Mao Tianyun’s assistance, Houqing’s pupils dilated after a while. Soon after, they abruptly focused again.
“Salutations, Master!” Houqing said respectfully.
“Good!” Dahong nodded.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThe entire independent space was now under Dahong’s control. The next target was Heaven Cang Palace.
“Are Houtu and Long Wanyu inside?” Dahong asked Houqing and Mao Tianyun.
“Yes!” The two nodded.
“What is inside?” Dahong asked.
“We don’t know; Houtu has never let us in!” Mao Tianyun shook its head.
Everyone else shook their heads.
“Milord, all the power of faith here is flowing into Heaven Cang Palace. The Immortal Origin must be inside!” a white-robed subordinate declared.
Dahong nodded. The group slowly surrounded Heaven Cang Palace.
Facing the grand hall, Dahong gave Houqing a look. Houqing nodded and stepped forward.
Houqing pushed the door open.
”Who’s there? Didn’t I say not to enter without my permission?” A cold female voice cfrom within the hall.
“Elder Sister, there’s an emergency, we…!” Houqing exclaimed.
“Halt! Don’t cin!” Lady Houtu commanded coldly.
Dahong looked inside the hall.
Inside was a smaller independent space surrounded by floating islands. At the center of this space was a platform.
Above the platform, a small orb emitted white light, surrounded by a hazy mist that would sway the mind of anyone who looked at it.
“The Immortal Origin?” Dahong was immediately certain what the white orb was. Joy flashed across his face.
The surging power of faith flowed around the Immortal Origin, drawn towards a colossal object below. It was a golden dragon exuding an aura of immeasurable nobility. It lay as if dead in the space, absorbing the endless power of faith.
This was not a golden blessings dragon but a real golden dragon. However, sparts of the dragon were immaterial, as if absorbing the power of faith to mend its body.
“His Holy Eminence once mentioned that the previous Heaven, Cang, was a golden dragon. Is this…Heaven Cang’s corpse? No, Heaven Cang was shattered by Six Paths. Is the power of faith being used to resurrect Heaven Cang? Houtu used to be a subordinate of Heaven Cang, so has she been collecting the power of faith for the past eight hundred thousand years to resurrect Heaven Cang and rebuild Heaven Cang’s body?” Dahong’s pupils constricted in sudden understanding.
Seated above the dragon’s head was a woman, none other than Long Wanyu. She sat cross-legged, as if in meditation.
Long Wanyu did not concern Dahong; his attention was on the woman in a magnificent black robe on the platform. It was Lady Houtu.
As Dahong saw Lady Houtu, she observed the scene outside the hall. Her eyes narrowed at the appearance of Dahong and his group.
“Houqing, Mao Tianyun, what are you doing? Who are these people? Are you planning to rebel?” Lady Houtu asked, her face turning cold.
“Rebel? Hahahaha! Lady Houtu, it seems you’re the one planning to rebel. The world belongs to the Six Paths Immortal now. Are you not planning to rebel by resurrecting Heaven Cang here?” Dahong retorted with a cold laugh.
As he spoke, Dahong led his group of white-robed individuals toward the grand hall, with Houqing and Mao Tianyun following respectfully.
“Have you gone mad? Why are you listening to him? No, you’re being controlled—mind control?” Lady Houtu’s face changed.
“Lady Houtu is quite knowledgeable. Why don’t you take a good look at who I am?” Dahong said, chuckling.
As Dahong laughed, his eyes turned a bright red. If Lady Houtu made the mistake of meeting his gaze, he would immediately ensnare her mind, leaving her at his mercy.
Being aware of mind control, Lady Houtu naturally did not fall for the trick. She waved her hand.
Instantly, countless small floating islands began spinning rapidly around the independent space, and a dense fog arose; Lady Houtu had set up a ritual array.
“Humph! How elaborate can a ritual array be in such a small place? Mao Tianyun, break it!” Dahong ordered coldly.
“Meow!”
Suddenly, a rolling fire surged toward the grand hall, shaking space. The boundless fog trembled.
“Clear the fog and letsee Houtu. Humph! Let’s see how she can escape our gaze!” Dahong said coldly.
“Yes!” Mao Tianyun replied.
Just then, a sudden loud noise resounded, and the space outside Heaven Cang Palace shuddered.
“What’s happening?” Dahong exclaimed in surprise.
“It’s coming from outside. I’ll go and check!” Houqing immediately flew out of the small space and soon returned.
“Master, it’s not good. The loud noise was Gu Hai’s saber strike cutting the Silken Web Heavenly Demon in half. Furthermore, Long Wanqing has suppressed the Heavenly Demon Holy Land’s eighth-ranked peak master, and Kong Xuan and the others have delayed the ninth-ranked peak master!” Houqing reported urgently.
“Gu Hai? Humph! He’s such a nuisance!” Dahong’s face darkened.
“Long Wanqing has gone to receive them, so Gu Hai should be here soon!” Mao Tianyun added.
Dahong’s eyes darkened with uncertainty.
“You all stay outside; do not let anyone approach!” Dahong ordered.
“Yes!” Mao Tianyun responded.
Dahong and the fifty white-robed individuals entered the grand hall.
The doors to the grand hall closed, with Mao Tianyun, Houqing, and others guarding the outside.
Mind control was not as simple as controlling mindless puppets. They retained their intelligence and quickly handled all arrangements outside as they waited for Gu Hai.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmIndeed, it did not take long before Gu Hai and his group arrived. Mao Tianyun greeted them.
To avoid arousing suspicion, Mao Tianyun merely stopped Gu Hai’s group from approaching the Heaven Cang Palace before it walked away.
Now, the only Elite Hall disciple left was Mu Chenfeng.
Because of their excessive trust in Houqing and Mao Tianyun, no one was overly suspicious.
Only Gu Hai was in a state of doubt ever since he entered. It was only when Mu Chenfeng addressed him as “Your Reverence” that Gu Hai beccertain that something was wrong.
The best method to uncover the truth would be imprisoning Mu Chenfeng in the Gu’s Immortal Firmament and thoroughly interrogating him. As Gu Hai’s subordinate, no one could say anything about it.
However, Gu Hai did not do that. He merely nodded without revealing his suspicions and alerting his enemies because many eyes were watching Mu Chenfeng.
Everything unusual carried risks. Gu Hai looked around, trying to understand what exactly had happened.
Simultaneously, he gave Kong Xuan a meaningful look. Having fought alongside Gu Hai countless times, Kong Xuan understood his signal. Although calm on the surface, Kong Xuan immediately went on alert.
------
At the stime, outside, by the sea:
Gu Hai’s skeleton clone thrust the Life Killer Saber into the remaining spider half.
Numerous malicious spirits and small skulls devoured the spider’s body amid the blood mist and black mist.
After several attacks, the Silken Web Heavenly Demon had nowhere to escape. It could only repeatedly release poison.
Gu Hai’s true body was not afraid of its poison, what more his skeleton clone?
“Argh! My legs! Your skulls have bitten off all my legs already. Letgo! Please letgo!” the remaining half of the Silken Web Heavenly Demon pleaded.
“You pursued us to death. Isn’t this what you wanted? If the tables were turned, would you spare us?” the skeleton Gu Hai asked coldly.
“It’s not our fault; it’s the Huang Heavenly Dynasty! Ji Dihong sent people to disclose your location. It’s all the Huang Heavenly Dynasty’s doing! They are the real culprits!” the Silken Web Heavenly Demon yelled in desperation.
“What? The Huang Heavenly Dynasty?” The skeleton Gu Hai stopped abruptly at the revelation.
------
At the stime, back at the pavilion shelter in the independent space:
“Act now! Wanyu is in danger! Quickly!” Gu Hai immediately dashed towards Heaven Cang Palace.
Kong Xuan instantly made his move.
A six-colored divine light shot towards Heaven Cang Palace.
“Stop!” The faces of Houqing and Mao Tianyun changed, and they rushed to intervene.
Long Wanqing, Ensnaring Performance, Longevity, and Purple Subtlety were somewhat confused.
