Betrayal At The Altar By Dolores Delia Chapter 37
“Are you expecting me to stay here and watch you and Olivia feel disgusted with me?” Rachel sneered
as she looked at Louis, who had a mocking glint in his eyes. “Not immediately throwing up in your face
is already the greatest respect I can give you.”
“Louis.” Olivia’s voice sounded from outside.
“Look, Mr. Smith, your sweetheart has arrived,” Rachel said as she looked at Louis with a half–smile.
“Are you sure you don’t want to let go?”
As expected, Louis quickly let go of her hand.
A sarcastic smile appeared on Rachel’s face. She turned around and left without hesitation.
From the moment Louis abandoned her at the wedding ceremony, Rachel realized that no matter how
hard she tried, she could never match the position Olivia held in Louis’s heart.
At that time, she felt agonized. Even that was not enough to express her feelings.
Rachel reckoned that some things were better to be grieved for once. One should then move on. There

Besides, there were plenty of men in this world. Without Louis, she could still live her life.
As she pushed the door and stepped out, Olivia happened to push the door and come in.
Olivia’s gaze met Rachel’s across the room. She raised her eyebrows slightly with a hint of challenge in
her eyes.
Rachel remained calm and indifferent. It was as if she had not even noticed Olivia’s presence. She
walked straight past Olivia.
Completely ignored by Rachel, Olivia felt a sense of powerlessness. The sense of humiliation that she
felt caused her exquisitely made–up face to reveal a hint of resentment and jealousy.
She could not stand Rachel’s high and mighty attitude. It was as if she towered over everyone else.
In Olivia’s eyes, Rachel was nothing more than a country bumpkin with a haughty demeanor, which
was truly annoying. On second thought, the only thing Rachel could boast about was Louis. However,
Louis, unfortunately, abandoned Rachel and chose her instead.
“What’s the point of spending three years with Louis?” Olivia thought. “What’s the use of making
significant contributions to the Smith Group? “She is still no match for the place I hold in Louis’s heart.
“This woman is destined to be trampled under my feet and defeated by me!”
“Why did you suddenly come out when you should be resting at home?” Louis lowered his gaze and
looked at Olivia with a hint of concern and tenderness in his expression.
Olivia came back to her senses after being lost in thought. A gentle smile crept up on her lips. “I know
you’ve been worried about the Green family withdrawing their investment,” she said. “I don’t
understand much about business matters, but I did what I could to help you. I went and asked my dad
for help. This is the investment proposal he drafted. He’s willing to invest in the Shallow Bay project. If
everything looks good, please sign it.”
“Really?” A hint of joy finally appeared on Louis’s melancholic face. He tightly held Olivia’s hand and
kissed it. “Olivia, you’re my lucky star.”
A glimmer of light flashed in Olivia’s eyes. She calmly shifted the conversation to Rachel. “Louis,

should be more considerate of her.”
Mentioning Rachel caused Louis’s smile to fade slightly. He looked up at the back of Rachel as she left,
feeling a sense of loss and regret.
Rachel left without any hesitation or reluctance, completely cutting off the relationship between them
and not leaving him any chance to save it.
Louis briefly mentioned Rachel’s resignation. His gaze gradually became cold. There seemed to be a
layer of ice between his eyebrows. “Since she wants to leave, I won’t force her to stay,” he said. “I just
hope she won’t regret it in the future.”
Even though he had abandoned Rachel at their wedding ceremony, he never thought about driving her
out of the company. While he did have any personal feelings for her, he had to admit that she was
effective and efficient worker.
Rachel’s sudden resignation had caught him off guard, but he did not feel particularly reluctant to let
her go.
However, since her attitude was resolute, he did not have to forcefully persuade her to stay.
He wanted to see how Rachel would survive in Seaxas without any relatives or connections after
leaving the Smith Group and him.
