B2 bunker in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, Namju (Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Armed Forces Joint Command Control Center)
The commanders and staff of the Joint Staff Headquarters, who had stayed up all night and held an operational meeting on the countermeasure plan all morning, were resting except for a few officials.
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Shin Sung-yong, took a shower in his room in the B2 bunker after finishing the meeting to relieve his tired body. He then had some coffee to keep him awake.
Even though like any normal person, he wanted to sleep and forget everything, he couldn’t because of his sense of responsibility and the burden that weighed down on him as the Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Therefore, he sat at his desk, holding the coffee cup in his left hand and the documents of the emergency countermeasure plan in his right hand, slowly reading them.
While reading the documents, he occasionally stretched to relax the muscles in his shoulders and neck, which were feeling stiff. When he reached the last chapter of a 10-page document, darkness passed across his face. He didn’t like the contents of the operational plan.
The contents of the countermeasure were as such. Firstly, to confront the Russian forces that were continuously deployed around the northwest front, they decided to urgently deploy four divisions. The 82nd Armored Division (Balhae) and the 29th Mechanized Infantry Division (Leading), which had been deployed on the eastern front, were ordered to redeploy to the 11th and 12th zones of the northwest front. While the 80th Mountain Division (Hammer) and 62nd Mountain Division (Chungryong) were deployed to the 13th and 14th regions, which were the borders of the rugged mountainous regions in the north.
Furthermore, the 7th Mobile Corps was directed to move quickly and defend against Russian counterattacks. The 20th Armored Division, in particular, which served as the leader, had been ordered to move at full speed and attack the 2nd Guards army by that night.
Secondly, the contents related to New China were as follow:
In Area One, the 3rd Armored Division (Baekol) was to take the place of the 6th Mechanized Infantry Division (Cheongseong), which had suffered significant losses as a result of the sudden plasma bombs. The 1st Armored Division (Advanced), which was in charge of the 2nd Area, was to quickly move to the northern end on behalf of the 25th Gyeonggap Infantry Division (Biryong), which had suffered severe damage and was on the verge of being destroyed. Finally, the area defended by the 1st Armored Division (Advanced) previously was to be taken over by the 8th Mechanized Infantry Division (Ottogi).
Furthermore, the 11th Armored Division (Hwarang), a unit directly under the command of the 1st Army, was deployed in front of Jinzhou to block the G1 Expressway and G102 Road, two of New China’s most important routes.
Even though it was not perfect, it was considered a good countermeasure plan under the current circumstances. However, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Shin Sung-yong, had the feeling that something was missing from the plan of the Russian side.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt“Well, Russia’s countermeasure plan seems to be lacking by 2 percent,” he said as he put down the documents of the operation plan at his desk and quickly drank the coffee that had already cooled down.
Before the eruption of aerial warfare, they followed the existing operation plan and therefore, they began to intervene in the Ukrainian civil war to prevent additional Russian reinforcement troops from being deployed to the northwest front. The 5th Marine Infantry Division was deployed in the entire Donetsk state within four days of its initial dispatch, but contrary to expectations, the 49th Army of the Southern Military District, which was involved in the Ukrainian civil war, kept moving to Ulan-Ude, 625 kilometers away, instead of recovering the area.
The Russian General Chief of Staff determined that the power of one division of the Korean Marine Corps would not affect the civil war in Ukraine, so he ordered the 49th Army to continue its movement. Furthermore, some units of the 58th Army, which were in charge of the borders of Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan, were ordered to relocate to areas under the command of the 49th Army to prepare for any contingency.
If the 3rd Mobile Marine Division (Hwaryong), which was the second unit dispatched in Ukraine, had been dispatched as early as the 5th Marine Division, the Russian General Staff would have felt a sense of crisis and returned the 49th Army of the Southern Military District. This was the most regrettable part of the existing operation plan.
During the countermeasure operational meeting at 10 a.m., the Overseas Reconnaissance Bureau reported that there were movements from all subordinate units of the 51st Guards Army and 20th Guards Army in the Western Military District in charge of the south and east of Moscow.
Even though they weren’t sure if these movements were just simply eagerness or preparation for actual movement at the time, it was inconceivable that all units would display such movements by just being eager. However, deploying even two units from the western county to the northwest front could have been extremely troubling for them.
As a result, at the countermeasures plan meeting, several staff members proposed subduing the Russian army in the Northwestern Front by simultaneously attacking it with strategic-level attack weapons such as plasma amplified missiles, but the problem was that the number they had wasn’t enough.
In the case of the Zeus Strategic Interception Satellite, except for unit four, which is currently in charge of the Middle East, the remaining seven units had a total of 19 C-SH Zinog missiles, which account for 34 percent of the total, and 41 C-SE Epirus missiles, which account for only 37 percent. In addition, the various strategic weapons possessed by the Air Force were not enough as well.
Although the Olympus base and various military factories were working 24 hours a day to print various weapons, the weapon suppliers were unable to keep up with the high demand because South Korea was now dealing with two countries at the same time.
In other words, the available weapons were insufficient to be used in Multi large-scale operations such as the “Flattening operation” that was established earlier for New China.
Therefore, under these circumstances, they needed a clever strategy to halt the Russian army’s continuous reinforcement troops. As previously reported, if the two military units of the Western Military District join the Northwestern Front, the total number of troops is expected to exceed 800,000, and 1.2 million if New China troops are included. It was a massive force that couldn’t be ignored.
With all of these thoughts racing through his mind, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Shin Sung-yong, was finally able to clear his mind and quickly picked up the intercom receiver”
“Yes, chairman!”
“Please connect me to the Minister of National Defense right now.”
“Yes, I see. Please wait a moment.”

B2 bunker in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, Namju (committee of the Special Forces Command of the Armed Forces Joint Command Control Center)
At the B2 bunker, there was a commander who was reviewing tomorrow’s rescue plan without resting, just like Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Shin Sung-yong. action
He was General Kang Jung-hyun, the commander of the special warfare who had previously received orders from the president to conduct a VIP class rescue.
He was conducting the final inspection of the rescue operation after receiving various information from the Foreign Intelligence Service and watching footage from the Overseas Reconnaissance Bureau of the 15th industrial complex in Beichen District.
“Have you completed the selection of the personnel who will be participating in the rescue operation?”
Brigadier General Kim Myung-won, the operational adviser who created the detailed plan for the rescue operation, replied to General Kang Jung-hyun’s question. “Currently, 180 soldiers from the first battalion of the 707 Special Brigade, 80 soldiers from the first squadron belonging to the Capital Heavy Armor Assault Brigade, and 60 engineers belonging to the 111th Field Engineering Corps under the Capital Defense Command have all been confirmed to be recruited.”
In addition to the Special Warfare Command, the engineering units and heavy armored assault units belonging to the Capital Defense Command participated in this rescue operation.
As Brigadier General Kim Myung-won said, up to 320 troops were mobilized for the rescue of only two people. This was because the location to be rescued was in the middle of the enemy camp, and there was more than one regiment of New China troops stationed on the border. Furthermore, because they were trapped in the basement of a collapsed building, it was not a simple rescue operation that could be carried out with only one or two special forces teams, as is commonly depicted in movies.
General Kang Jung-hyun, who nodded at Brigadier General Kim Myung-won’s answer, asked again, “Will it be possible to get it done within two hours?”
“I believe it will be enough if we steal and use New China’s heavy equipment,” responded Brigadier General Kim Myung-won confidently because he knew exactly how deep and where they were buried.
“In any case, it could be more dangerous if we took longer than two hours! Tianjin currently has three regular divisions and four mobilization divisions. We must rescue them and flee before reinforcements arrive.”
Brigadier General Kim Myung-won once again replied confidently to the concerned words of General Kang Jung-hyun. “That won’t happen. Commander!”
“Okay! I’ll trust you.”
General Kang Jung-hyun packed the tablet PC that contained the rescue operation information in a small bag, patted Brigadier General Kim Myung-won on the shoulder, and walked to the command room’s entrance.
“Check the rescue plan once again and confirm it with each participated unit.”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm“Yes, Sir. Salute!”
He then opened the door and headed out to the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

B2 bunker in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, Namju (Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Armed Forces Joint Command Control Center)
Shin Sung-yong, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, returned to his office after dinner and smiled brightly when he received the call from Defense Minister Kang Ui-sik.
“Are you sure, Minister?”
“Minister Kang Kyung-hee made every effort to move. After hearing your request yesterday, it appears that the entire Ministry of Foreign Affairs moved quickly.”
“Oh! I’d like to thank Minister Kang Kyung Hee.”
“All right. Call him when you have time.”
“Haha. Yes, I should.”
The previous afternoon, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Shin Sung-yong, contacted Minister Kang Ui-sik after conceiving of one of the most feasible and expedient ways to prevent Russian troop reinforcement on the northwest front.
It was with the use of the 7th Mechanized Infantry Brigade, the 35th Mechanized Infantry Brigade, and the 11th Marine Cavalry Brigade (Gwangryong) that were currently stationed in the Republic of Kurdistan.
If the above three brigades start sweeping through Azerbaijan to Dagestan and the Czech Republic in southern Russia, it would no longer be possible for the Russians to send reinforcements troops to the northwest front of Ukraine, the Crimean Peninsula.
Although the three brigades were not capable of destroying the 58th Army in charge of the southern part and advancing northward, it was clear that they could at least put a halt to the additional reinforcements of the Northwestern Front, and the 3rd Marine Mobile Division (Hwaryong) would only have to win some time until the dispatch of Ukrainian troops.
Simply put, it was a strategy for dealing with multiple problems at once. It was difficult to deploy those brigades at first because they were performing security missions in the Republic of Kurdistan. However, this problem was resolved today thanks to the quick action of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Shin Sung-yong, recalled that several allies confirmed last year that they would send troops to the Republic of Kurdistan at any time if Korea requested it. As a result, he requested that Minister Kang Ui-sik contact them through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to see if they would be able to immediately dispatch combat units capable of carrying out the mission of maintaining the Republic of Kurdistan’s security.
Within a day, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received a response from its African allies, Ethiopia, Sudan, and other countries, stating that they would immediately dispatch troops to the Republic of Kurdistan’s security mission at the request of the South Korean government.
Ethiopia, in particular, stated that if transportation was provided, it could dispatch 30,000 regular troops within a day.
A few years ago, Ethiopia, which was the first to receive support from the ‘June 25th Veterans Support Group’ from the Republic of Korea, had grown into an emerging economy representing Africa thanks to various science and technology transfers and large-scale economic support. it was leading the African Union..
