She pursed her lips. She did not sit by his side as he requested, but lowered her head and walked to the other side of Yaoyao.
Long Yin glanced at her when he saw this but was not offended.
Yaoyao did not notice anything wrong between the two of them. When she saw Hexin sitting next to her, she quickly took Hexin’s hand affectionately. Then, she exclaimed with slight surprise. “Xinxin, why are your hands so cold?”
Lu Liangwei walked in at that moment. She took a bowl from one of the servants and placed it in front of Hexin.
“Xinxin, here is some brown sugar water. Have it while it’s hot. You’ll feel better.”
“Alright.” Hexin drank the brown sugar water as instructed.
Yaoyao watched her drink while resting her chin on her hand. Once Hexin was done, Yaoyao asked, “Xinxin, did a relative of yours stop by for a visit?”

Lu Liangwei coughed gently and gave Yaoyao a coy glance. She scolded her with a laugh, “What nonsense are you talking about?”
Yaoyao chuckled. “I learned this from you, Mother.”
Hexin looked at both of them curiously. She had no idea which relative Yaoyao was talking about.
A smile twinkled in Long Yin’s eyes.
He did not expect this bright and adorable little girl to show such a puzzled expression.
Yaoyao coughed lightly. As her royal brother was present, she leaned in close to Hexin’s ear and explained it to her.
Hexin’s face turned bright red after hearing the explanation. Her pretty eyes widened slightly in surprise.
She must have blushed more times today than she had in the past ten years or so.
Her face was almost buried in the bowl as she ate.
“Don’t be shy, Xinxin. Have more food.” Lu Liangwei placed some food in Hexin’s bowl. She found Hexin quite adorable when she saw how flushed Hexin’s face was. She was as red as an apple.
Lu Liangwei still felt that it would be wonderful if Hexin could marry Yin’er.
After dinner, Long Yin returned to the imperial study to continue his administrative work.
Lu Liangwei remembered her son’s words to her before dinner and decided to spend some time in Yaoyao’s bedchamber.
Hexin was also staying at Yaoyao’s Pear Blossom Palace during her visit to Great Shang.
The three of them walked toward Pear Blossom Palace together.
When they arrived, Lu Liangwei followed Yaoyao into her bedchamber.
There was a birdcage hanging in the corridor when they arrived at the door. Two pigeons were inside the cage. One was white while the other was gray.

A look flashed in Yaoyao’s eyes as she said with an air of guilt, “I just suddenly wanted to keep them as pets, so I got them.”
This was her daughter, after all. It only took Lu Liangwei one look to know that Yaoyao was hiding something from her, but she did not point it out immediately.
Hexin, who was standing at the side, knew that Aunt Weiwei had suddenly visited tonight because she had something private to chat with Yaoyao about. She said tactfully, “Aunt Weiwei, I’m feeling rather unwell. I’ll head to bed first.”
“Alright.” Lu Liangwei rubbed her head and said gently, “Make sure not to catch a cold during these few days while you’re menstruating. Keep yourself warm and don’t eat anything cold.”
“I’ll keep that in mind,” Hexin replied obediently and returned to her room.
Lu Liangwei felt slightly wistful as she watched the young lady leave while being escorted by the servants. She pulled Yaoyao’s hand and went into her bedchamber.
“Why were you sighing, Mother?” Yaoyao was sharp enough to notice it and asked curiously.
“I just think that Xinxin is a really good girl,” Lu Liangwei said with a smile as she sat on the bed.
There was a twinkle in Yaoyao’s eyes as said teasingly, “It would be wonderful if she became your daughter-in-law, wouldn’t it?”
