"There is nothing much he could do now." Jin sighed and possibly alongside with the rest of the viewers who were watching the valiant Deng Long attempting to risk his life to destroy the Mobile Armour. The hopes of everyone thinking that it would be a turnaround for the Pandarens were dashed.

Both shots did not miss but Deng Long had the worst luck ever as both ricocheted because of the transformation phase that Gunndam Aegis was going through. It did make General Gnawbones break a sweat but other than that, Gunndam Aegis charged and attacked Deng Long straight on.

Both of the heavy duty anti tank rifles needed manual reloading and were therefore useless from defending against such a terrifying foe. As if charging to ram Deng Long was not enough, the Gnawbones even prepared to fire a blast of ion energy to ensure that he died.

"If I am going to die, then at least I will try to bring you down with me! My Beloved Aegis!! Forgive your incompetent master!" Deng Long said as he dropped his rifles and took out a few belts worth of explosive grenades. At the same time, he tried to imbue them with chi so that their blast would be more deadly. After all, if he was going to be suicidal, might as well make a good impression.

Both the Demon Rats and Pandarens stopped momentarily when both collided, each hoping that their side might triumph from this desperate fighting solution. However, it was pretty obvious who came out victorious and General Gnawbones was laughing as if he had hit the jackpot, controlling the Gunndam Aegis.

There was no doubt that it had taken some damage especially when the blast had broken a few of its parts that were previously exposed by the Pandarens. Yet, it was still hanging on despite it being on fire.

"Damn it, Boss, why did you make it so sturdy and yet so dumb that it could be controlled by the enemy!" Shi Zuo said as he knew that all the Pandarens around were panicking a little from the defeat of a Pandawan.

But there was a silver lining to this entire incident.

"The Base Camp instant construction is ready!" Royal Zodiac Sheep Captain Mian Ling shouted as she pressed the extra big red button that emerged right in front of her console. All the time that was used to distract and fend off the Demon Rats was not for nought.

The Pandarens instinctively tried to jump away or evade the Demon Rats who were in the allocated blueprint locations but the Demon Rats did not care and continued to stand in that position. Some of the Pandarens tried to push them away but it was too late, thinking that there would a hole in the base camp's defence if they did not do that.

However, they did not expect that things were suddenly flying out from a mysterious portal at such high speeds that it squashed the Demon Rats that were in those allocated positions. Imagine a wall came crashing down on the Demon Rats' head, what would one get?

Demon Rat 'Pancakes' with a bit of strawberry jam at the side.

That applied to the temporary shelters that were built for the base camps as well. Unlike the ones that were used by the Royal Zodiac Snakes and Monkeys, these shelters were built with defence in mind. The build of those shelters was literally like war bunkers and they flew right straight from the portal and directly to their assigned positions with a loud bang.

Any Demon Rats that were caught in those were killed almost immediately. And if that was not enough, machine gun emplacements and other kinds of projectile installations were erected at the top of the wall while a magic shield generator had begun to cover the entire base camp despite the continuous barrage by the enemies.

Seeing it as their bastion of hope, everyone worked even harder to kill or push out the Demon Rats that were within the compound. Most if not all the Pandarens who knew that they were too tired to carry on had dedicated every ounce of energy they could squeeze to make sure there were no other Demon Rats that could be within the base camp.

Those that were fresh from the pillar slide and recently reinforced the frontlines were immediately given the order by Sheep Captain Mian Ling to take on the machine gun emplacements and other defensive installations. However, they did not know those defensive installations would aid them until they tried it out.

The machine gun installations were the easiest to use but it was ineffective towards the Demon Rat Elites because of the crazy mechanical armour they wore unless the gunner was able to get a lucky shot at their necks. But against those normal trash mobs? They were useful deterrents to ensure that those rank and file soldiers would not come too close to the walls.

There was a missile launcher installation at each corner of the base camp and they were incredibly reliable against the Gunndam Aegis who came too close for comfort now that the walls are up but the reloading time was long since it had to be manually fitted.

The walls were also installed with a low levelled spear trap where the entire line of the wall could shoot out a volley of spears. If that was not enough to deter the Demon Rat frontlines, there was a Heat Vent trap installation where it could burn any Demon Rats if they attempted to climb the wall.

In the meantime, the magical energy barrier held strong against the Gunndam Aegis for now as the Pandarens regrouped to manage the wounded and regain their wits as the cultivators on the wall continued to man the defence.

"Well, at least they had managed to get the base camp running," Jin said as he was satisfied with the progress of the Pandarens since they had lost a lot because of one major manoeuvre by the Demon Rats in the span of two days.
