As he ran, a ahead bush suddenly stirred and a startled black rabbit jumped out from the bush. Ye Wuchen removed the cloth that covered his wound which was almost entirely soaked red with blood. He rubbed a hand slowly against the wound and in an instant, the bloodstains had completely disappeared, leaving no traces.
Although the rabbit was fast, it was still incomparable to Ye Wuchen’s speed. Before long, Ye Wuchen had easily overtaken the rabbit and quickly wrapped the blood soaked cloth around its neck. He let it go and the rabbit suddenly fled.
He put a foot forward, light as a feather, on a tree branch, then another foot. He then leapt up to a cluster of branches up high, with his eyes half shut he quickly made to regain some of his power. Under the cover of dense branches and leaves, any one beneath would not be able to discover a man hiding above it unless it was examined carefully.
After a few seconds, Tao BaiBai’s figure quickly swept past like wind. The direction he headed seemed to be the direction where the rabbit had escaped to.
Soon enough, a howl of anger echoed. Ye Wuchen’s mouth turned up in a smile. If he were to find himself risking his life chasing after a rabbit, he supposed he would also roar madly three times.
A whoosh sounded below and a white shadow swept past below him again, following the original direction he had been heading before. Ye Wuchen did not use the opportunity to leave and stayed with his eyes still shut, recuperating and restoring his powers. After a few breaths, Tao BaiBai snapped back, then went in a radius to make a few rounds. Afterwhich, he used his fastest speed to rush all the way back.
Ye Wuchen jumped from the tree then, coldly laughing at the direction where Tao BaiBai had left and unhurriedly headed deeper into the Black Forest.
Tao BaiBai quickly exited the Black Forest, and proceeded straight to Tian Long City. The feeling of being repeatedly tricked caused his rage to madly spark in his innermost being, giving hime the desire to dismember the body of his target a thousand times.
That Ye Wuchen must have used the rabbit to lead him to further into the forest, then hid himself in the dark, before he took the opportunity to return to Tian Long City to seek help. Based on his opinion, escaping to Tian Long City to seek help was Ye Wuchen’s only chance to live. When he slashed the man’s neck, it was to show Ye Wuchen how weak his power of protection was. It appeared that Ye Wuchen’s other powers did not match the calibre of his speed.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtAfter a minute of not seeing Ye Wuchen, he ran into the four women whose eyes were full of vitality; their entire bodies grand and heroic. When they saw Tao BaiBai, their hearts simultaneously stopped. Could it be that Ye Wuchen was already…
They made no signals yet with mutual understanding, they circled Tao BaiBai. Feng pulled out her sword and yelled, “Tao BaiBai, what have you done to Master Ye?”
When Tao BaiBai heard the words, his face became dark and he quickly turned to dash back to the direction of the Black Forest. His speed was so fast that the four women had no hope of catching up and they only clenched their teeth as they quickly gave chase.
When he was in Tian Long City he already become aware of being followed by four women, so they had obviously come from the direction of the Tian Long City. If they were asked that question, it meant that they did not see Ye Wuchen. Which in turn meant that… Ye Wuchen had not gone back to Tian Long City, and was still inside the Black Forest.
A belly full of anger made him nearly go mad with rage.
Furious and finally back in the Black Forest, he followed the path he had taken before and proceeded further. Almost indistinct, he smelled the fragrant flavor of meat.
After few turns, he was back at the spot where he caught the rabbit. What he saw there almost made him throw up blood as his footsteps suddenly stopped short.
That rabbit he had stabbed to death in anger had disappeared and only the pelt remained. Ye Wuchen was sitting on some tree, soundly eating delicious rabbit leg, uncaring of his presence. He could see rabbit bones littered everywhere around his feet.
Ye Wuchen bit into another large piece of meat and threw the bone away. Eyes seeping as if they only now noticed him. “Mister Tao BaiBai, running back and forth must have tired you out. Come! Come! This rabbit meat is nice, you want a piece? Look, I’ve especially reserved this hind piece for you.”
Swish!
A short blade launched from Tao BaiBai’s hand like a shooting star, its point lodged deeply into the spot on the tree where Ye Wuchen had been leaning on. Ye Wuchen had unhurriedly avoided the blade but was able to escape without a scratch. Tao BaiBai dashed towards him, taking out a short blade and charging without pause. This time, he would not let him escape again.
By now, Wuchen had almost fully regained his power so he lead Tao BaiBai circling around the Black Forest. He then switched directions towards the Devil’s Trap Pagoda, to which Tao BaiBai strictly followed out of anger and with no sign of giving up.
They continued on eastward for approximately five miles, and in another five miles, they would have reached the Devil’s Trap Pagoda; the very mention of this place caused people to flinch. The speed of these two men still did not slow, however. If it were not for Ye Wuchen’s tricks to circle around a bit in the forest to regain his powers, such a long chase might have already exhausted him and result in his capture at Tao BaiBai’s hands.
Ye Wuchen had already calculated the distance since he remembered every place that he had previously set foot on. A few trees he had marked appeared before his eyes, and the corners of Ye Wuchen’s mouth slightly rose. He proceeded farther ahead, he made a few wrong steps but they would not make much of a difference in the end.
The eyes of the dead shot endlessly hateful glances now that Tao BaiBai’s vision were dead set on Ye Wuchen. All of a sudden, the ground below his feet gave, and his body fell. Tao BaiBai faintly groaned, but easily leapt midair and escaped the trap with no difficulty from the hole Leng Ya had exhaustingly dug up. With his body maintaining the same speed, Tao Baibai made to continue forward.
Though, as soon as he had landed, his body violently fell once more. Tao BaiBai was shocked yet he was not confused. He braced his body and leapt up once more, this time he was more aware, and did not rush forward again, instead he angled his body to go right.
Using his power twice in succession, even if he pushed forward with all his strength he could not propel himself any more, and so his body, now in a free-fall state drop into the third pit. He fell to the bottom… and into the trap below where a sharp pain stabbed through the sole of his foot.
The bottom of the hole was covered in swords, their sharp ends pointed upwards. If not for his ability that automatically protected his body in times of imminent danger, his legs might have been skewered. But despite this, Tao BaiBai had been completely caught off guard and his right foot was pierced into around two centimeters deep.
“Oh, it looks like you have chose the right side. At that time, I was unable to guess whether you would choose to jump to the left side or to the right… so I might as well put traps on both sides. If you want to satisfy your curiosity, you can try stepping on the left side.”
When Ye Wuchen and Leng Ya dug the first hole, Ye Wuchen knew very well that one hole was not enough to trap Tao BaiBai. And so, along the same path, they dug a second hole. But the second certainly would not be able to trap Tao BaiBai too, so he and Leng Ya dug a hole on either side of the second. Based on the two prior holes, Tao BaiBai would surely jump to the side, and not ahead. The first two holes had been empty, but the holes on the sides were thoroughly filled. Of course, to be thorough, in case Tao BaiBai jumped forward, there was another hole, making a total of five holes. If Tao BaiBai jumped to the front then that was good, if he chose not to jump forward… then that was better.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThe holes were approximately two meters deep, so Tao BaiBai’s whole body was completely inside. Hearing sounds of rejoicing in his misfortune, his lungs almost exploded from anger. He shouted angrily, and tensing his feet, his body flew out like a sharp arrow, aiming to land where the voice came. Jumping at Ye Wuchen’s body, he stuck out his blade.
Ye Wuchen hurriedly avoided the attack. Out of anger, Tao BaiBai had concentrated all his strength into his hands, leaving no strength in his feet. Tao BaiBai was cursed to fall into a trap that happened to be in front of Ye Wuchen, only to receive another sharp stab of pain, from his left foot this time.
Ye Wuchen had been standing directly in front of the fifth hole. Out of five holes, Tao BaiBai had fallen into the four of them.
Ye Wuchen shrugged his shoulders, and pityingly said, “Mister Tao BaiBai, I dug up these holes with great difficulty and you have step into almost all of them. If you like them so much,, I’ll dig you a hundred eighty more of them, how about it?”
While he was speaking, his hands were holding onto some rope, where he then he exerted strength to pull. A half meter thick ash-gray log, that Leng Ya had partially sawed was slowly collapsing into the hole where Tao BaiBai was in. Ye Wuchen quickly broke into a run.
After falling for one trick after another, his rationality was almost burned off by the flames of his fury. Tao BaiBai concentrated all his strength and leapt upward. Only… to meet with a loud bang, as his head being smashed against the falling log. The sound was almost like thunder had stuck Tao BaiBai multiple times. His body fell like a deflected arrow, heavily landing into the sharp swords underneath and pierced through by five swords.
“Ahh!!”
Boom!!
A mournful roar was followed by an ear-splitting explosion as the floor violently vibrated that almost caused the fleeing Ye Wuchen to stumble. He turned, dumbstruck at the sight of black soil spattering violently from the enormous energy of the commotion. The huge trees in the surroundings collapsed while the log that Tao BaiBai smashed into was in pieces.
Ye Wuchen’s heart grew terrified. This was his second time encountering a Heaven-Level expert. The murderous spirit caused the air circulation to turn chaotic, bringing him the realization that Tao BaiBai was thoroughly angered. Consequently, between the of two of them, one was going to die!
If Tao BaiBai lived, even if he were able to preserve his life he would not be able to find peace.
