Chapter 415 Encounter Quinn and Chloe began their evening with a meal.
"Where's Jessica?" "She had classes today, so she's not joining us." Chloe nodded, and a soft "Oh" escaped her lips.
As they perused the menu, Quinn handed it to Chloe and leaned in to inform the waiter, specifying, "No mushrooms in the dish I just chose." Flipping through the pages, Chloe paused. "It's fine. You can have them." Though she wasn't fond of mushrooms, her aversion wasn't so severe that she couldn't bear the sight of another enjoying them.
"It's alright. The mushrooms are just a garnish here." Quinn proceeded to order the rest of the dishes according to Chloe's preferences.
Chloe watched in silent appreciation.
He even directed the waiter to replace the soda water with water.

It was a small thing, but no one had ever taken such care of her preferences before.
Quinn merely smiled, but his eyes were twinkling with warmth and depth.
"I remember you promised to makelobster." Chloe's eyes lit up with recollection.
"Oh, I'm sorry! I've been so caught up in work that I forgot it!" It was nearly August, and the best season for lobster was waning.
"We can always enjoy them next year. You'll still be in Urban Lane, right?" Quinn's tone was casual yet probing, seeking to understand if the divorce would prompt Chloe to leave the city. "That's my home. Where else would I go?" Chloe responded with a touch of amusement. Her plans for another house were still unformed.
"You could stay at my place," he murmured so softly that Chloe barely caught it. "What did you say?" "It's nothing. I think Urban Lane is quite lovely." Quinn masked his true intentions, afraid to startle her with the depth of his feelings.
After dinner, they exited the restaurant together. As they walked, a passerby approached, and Quinn instinctively reached out to guide Chloe by the waist, ensuring she wasn't jostled. Chloe, walking ahead, was entirely oblivious to his protective gesture.
They made their way to the poetry gathering, where a stall at the entrance sold collections by Borges.
"Do you have any favorites?" Chloe shook her head. "I have all his works." At this point, she recalled that the poetry collection was still in Michael's study.
It was a cumberstask to take them all away given their abundance.
Observing her pensive expression, Quinn queried, "What's the matter?" "It's nothing. I just remembered I need to retrieve the poetry collection later," she explained.
It was a limited edition hardcover with a sign of Borges, which she didn't wish to leave neglected on Michael's shelf.
Hearing she was headed back to Lotus Manor, Quinn offered softly, "Then I'll accompany you, and I can help with the books." Chloe nodded, indicating there was no rush.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmTo Chloe's surprise, the poetry gathering unfolded in a multimedia format.
Borges' poems were projected in 3D on the walls, transforming the theater's exhibition hall into an immersive art experience.
The event space resembled an art gallery, drawing in both social media influencers and casual visitors om seeking a unique photo opportunity. "During my college years, my favorite book was Rabindranath Tagore's 'Stray Birds.' If not for you, I wouldn't have discovered Borges." Quinn trailed behind Chloe as they revisited their shared past. Because she was obsessed with the poems of Borges, he read Borges every day in college.
Chloe's major wasn't literature, but her passion for it was profound,m leading her to devour literary works during her college years. "Tagore is remarkable, but I find 'Gitanjali' even more captivating than 'Stray Birds." Quinn was adept at engaging with her.
Whether the topic was Borges or Tagore, their conversation flowed smoothly and was filled with mutual appreciation and understanding. As they strolled through the exhibit, they delved into various philosophical discussions. Chloe felt a sense of joy she hadn't experienced in a long while.
Her laughter, gentle yet resilient, filled the air, and her long hair swayed with each step. "I'm going to the restroom." Chloe nodded slightly towards Quinn before making her way to the restroom.
Little did she know that a familiar figure awaited her just beyond the restroom door.
