Cole frowned. "Isn't this inappropriate? Reese is sick, and we're still going shopping?"
Chloe was a little angry. "When we were in Switzerland, | was afraid that Victoria would targetbecause | was
close to you. Now, in Menkerios, you can't even accompanyshopping. Didn't you say we're good friends?"
Chloe knew full well that she and Cole were in a somewhat ambiguous situation. Under the guise of friendship,
she could make sdemands akin to those of a girlfriend.
She was patient, waiting for the moment when Cole couldn't hold back and would confess. Then, they would
naturally progress toward a more intimate relationship.
They were just a step away from clarity. Cole was already quite indulgent with her, and she was almost
considering herself his girlfriend.
Chloe had idyllic thoughts, but Cole hesitated for a moment and declined, saying, "No, at least when Reese is ill,
| don't want to go shopping with you."
Chloe's expression immediately soured, and she started getting upset. "Cole, what do you mean?"
Cole remained silent.
Ava could no longer tolerate this and stepped forward as "Senior Smith."
Cole snapped back to attention and immediately turned to her, saying, "Ava, when did you get off the plane?
Why didn't you call me?"
Ava was blunt and straightforward: "I just got off the plane."

Then, she turned directly to Chloe and said, "Miss Preston, Reese is sick, and Senior Hopkins is concerned. | hope
you won't create unnecessary trouble."
Chloe was taken aback, her eyebrows furrowing so much they could crush a fly. "Miss Smith, what does this have
to do with you?"
Ava pursed her lips, her voice cold and stern. "Reese is my friend. She's sick, and Senior Hopkins is worried about
her. Don't make things difficult for him."
Chloe sarcastically smiled, "Oh, | understand now. So, you two are bosom buddies, ganging up onbecause
there's strength in numbers, right?"
Cole couldn't tolerate this any longer and said, "Chloe, that's enough. Ava didn't mean that."
Chloe persisted with a touch of irrationality: "She didn't mean that? Then what did she mean, Cole? Could it be
that you like her, and that's why you're siding with her?"
Cole's expression shifted slightly. "What nonsense are you spouting?"
Chloe sniffed, "I'm just speaking the truth. What, are you saying it's not true?" Cole's expression remained stern.
"Ava is a younger sister to me."
Chloe sarcastically sneered, "Ah, then how many 'good' sisters do you have?"
Ava's eyes reddened once again, and she raised her voice, saying, "That's enough."
As she said this, Chloe and Cole fell silent, and even the people passing by in the airport turned their attention
toward them.
Ava had never felt so embarrassed before when the person she liked treated her like a sister while her romantic
rival taunted and provoked her arrogantly.
She suppressed her discomfort and said, "I'm going to see Reese. You guys can do whatever you want."
After finishing her words, Ava swiftly turned around and walked towards the airport exit.
Cole was about to chase after her, but Chloe grabbed his arm and said, Cole, if you go after her, we'll never be
good friends again."
Cole cast a deep glance at her. His so-called friendship with Chloe was primarily driven by a mutual desire to
explore their romantic feelings. However, he hadn't anticipated this unreasonable and provocative side of Chloe.
Ava had obviously been hurt by her words and had left in anger.
Compared to anything else, Cole was more concerned about Ava's well-being.
He said in a low voice, "Then let's not be good friends."
Having said that, he pulled Chloe's hand off his arm and went after Ava. Chloe stomped her foot in frustration.
Hospital room.
Reese placed her phone aside and glanced at Lukas, who was reading documents on the sofa. "Mr. Strakovski,
you can leave. | can manage on my own."
Lukas raised his gaze, his voice chillingly penetrating: "You're so capable. When you fainted today, why didn't
you say you could handle it on your own?"

Reese was immediately left speechless by his retort.
However, having Lukas here wasn't convenient for his work, and he had to take care of her.
She truly felt that their relationship hadn't reached this stage.
She pursed her lips and asked, "Mr. Strakovski, can | be discharged now?"
Lukas's face grew even sterner. "Reese, what exactly are you trying to do?"
Reese spoke honestly: "I want to leave the hospital. Most of the red marks on my body have faded, allergic
reactions have subsided, and | feel like my body has recovered. | think I can be discharged."
Lukas gave her a sarcastic glance and said, "So, you're a doctor now, capable of treating yourself."
Reese's mouth twitched twice. "I know my own body."
Lukas coldly snorted, not taking her words seriously: "If you really knew, you wouldn't have ended up with a
severe allergic shock."
Upon hearing this, Reese felt a bit guilty. "Wasn't that just an accident?"
Lukas's tone turned dark, his voice eerie. "If you have another ‘accident, you might as well go report it to the
King of Hell."
Reese's face darkened at his words. Why did this guy have to be so venomous with his words?
At that moment, there was a knock on the hospital room door.
