Chapter 181 But I’m Not Like You
Lewis froze in his movements. He lifted his eyes and looked toward the door.
Josephine bit her lip and bravely walked over to Lewis. He looked somewhat out of place as he held
the baby in his arms. Dressed impeccably in a suit, he exuded a cold and distant aura that kept people
at arm’s length, yet he delicately cradled such a fragile little baby in his arms.
His attire and the expression on his face didn’t quite fit with that of a person who was taking care of a
child. The nanny tried to take the child from his arms, saying, “Master Lewis, please let me take Young
Master Baron.”
This time, Lewis didn’t refuse and let the nanny take the child away. His deep eyes stared intently at
Josephine, making her scalp tingle.
She approached Lewis, raised her hand, and gestured, “Why did you block me?”
Facing Josephine’s questioning, Lewis remained composed. He leaned back against the sofa. Then,
he took out a cigarette, lit it, and casually replied, “If I want to block you, I’ll block you. Do I need your
permission?”
Josephine was speechless. She walked over and sat across from Lewis, gesturing again, “So, have
you prepared the divorce agreement?”
Lewis remained silent while staring at her.
Josephine gestured once more, “Since you dislike me so much, then you should sign it as soon as you
can. That way, both of us can be free.”
“Both of us?” he asked in return.
Josephine furrowed her brows, not understanding his meaning, but she still nodded.
Lewis smirked with a hint of indifference. “Have you found your next partner already? Is it Quintin or
Seth?”
Josephine’s brows furrowed even tighter. She gestured, “If we divorce, it shouldn’t matter who I find,
right?”
“But are you divorced yet?”
Josephine froze.
Lewis continued, “You aren’t divorced yet. First, there was Quintin, then followed by Seth. It has been

His seemingly casual remark stabbed Josephine mercilessly, causing a pang of pain in her heart. She
was that kind of a person in his eyes, after all.
Josephine no longer wanted to argue with him about these matters. She

get a divorce.”
Lewis squinted his eyes, and his voice dripped with even more coldness as he questioned, “You want a
divorce, and I should just go along with it?”
Josephine was getting angry as she continued to gesture, “Aren’t I doing you and Sierra a favor by
divorcing? You didn’t even dare to announce your relationship with her at the press conference. Have
you thought about how wronged she must have felt?”
Suddenly, Lewis stood up and walked over to her, bending down to hold her chin while asking
sarcastically, “So, should I thank you for being considerate of my feelings?”
His forceful way of holding Josephine’s chin hurt, but she gritted her teeth and didn’t yelp in pain or
make a sound.
After a while, she gestured, “Weren’t you the one who wanted a divorce?”
“So what if I said I did?”
His words left Josephine speechless. She looked at Lewis in disbelief. Was he planning to go
back on his word?
“I’m asking you. So what if I said it? Who said I had to follow through after mentioning it? Didn’t you
promise me something and fail to fulfill it as well?”
As Josephine looked at Lewis’ distinct features, the only word that came to her was shameless.” She’d
never seen this side of him before. Her eyelid twitched in response to her annoyance with him at that
moment.
Lewis let go of her chin and smirked coldly. “But I’m not like you. I do as I say.”
Following that, he took out his phone from his pocket and dialed Conrad’s number. “Bring the divorce
agreement over,” he ordered.
On the other end of the phone, Conrad was taken aback. “Is this for real?” he wondered in disbelief.
Nevertheless, Lewis’ tone was firm, so he didn’t dare to question his boss’ command. Conrad quickly
replied that he would immediately rush over with the documents.
Lewis glanced at Josephine as he finished the call. Seeing her dazed expression, he smiled lopsidedly
and challenged in a sinister tone, “What? Don’t tell me you thought that I blocked you these past few
days because I couldn’t bear to let you go?”
Josephine pressed her lips tightly, her expression unnatural. She’d indeed thought of it that
way.
Lewis bent down and got close to her. They were mere inches away from each other and seemed to be
in an intimate position. However, his gaze was icy as he spoke in a low voice, You think too highly of
yourself.”
Josephine’s pupils constricted in shock. She turned her head away to avoid his condescending stare.
He was right-she’d thought too highly of herself, and he was proving it to her once

more.
Suppressing the bitter feeling in her heart, Josephine resisted the urge to cry. Lewis
straightened his back, walked to the side, and started smoking while waiting for Conrad’s arrival.
During that hour of waiting for Conrad to arrive, Josephine observed him smoke seven or eight
cigarettes. Neither of them uttered a word to each other.
Upstairs, Nancy’s eyes lit up after hearing her maid’s report. “Are they really getting a divorce?
The maid nodded. “Yes, they are. Conrad is on his way to deliver the divorce agreement.”
Nancy was overjoyed upon hearing that. She clapped her hands and exclaimed, “That’s wonderful! The
mute is finally going to leave the Alvarez family. Bring me the list of unmarried girls of the distinguished
families in Elysium, and let me go through the names.”
“Mrs. Alvarez, isn’t this a bit too hasty?”
Nancy glared at her. “Why not? Since they’re divorcing, we must completely sever any possibility of
them getting back together. He should get married to a proper lady as soon as possible to prevent this
mute from sticking around.”
The maid nodded, seemingly understanding. “I’ll go and get the list.”
“Hurry up.”
Now that she heard they were getting a divorce, Nancy’s headache disappeared, and she no longer felt

so. It was better not to get involved to avoid any further trouble.
An hour later, Conrad arrived with the divorce agreement. He hesitantly held the documents. and
glanced at Lewis. Lewis gave him a glance and ordered, “Hand them over!”
Conrad trembled all over and quickly handed over the documents. Lewis opened the file, and without
the slightest hesitation, he took out the divorce agreement. Without even looking at it, he retrieved a
pen from his pocket and inscribed his name on the section designated for the husband, executing each
stroke with grand gestures.
After he was done with the two copies, he threw the divorce agreement at Josephine. “Sign It!”
The divorce agreement landed on Josephine’s body. It didn’t hurt physically, but Lewis’ rude act of
throwing the document at her was full of contempt and dealt the worst possible humiliation to
Josephine. She bit her lip, picked up the divorce agreement, and took out her own pen from her bag.
She stared at the name he’d signed on the other side, written so hastily that she could hardly make out
his signature. “Is this really his name?” she wondered. But her hesitation lasted only a moment.
Memories of her painful moments with Lewis kept resurfacing in her mind, urging her to sign the
divorce agreement.

She leaned against the table and inscribed her name stroke by stroke. There were two copies of the
divorce agreement. She finished signing one and then continued with the other.
Right then, she suddenly heard Lewis say, “Since we’re getting divorced, Conrad, do you think I still
need to do charity?”
Josephine paused in her actions. Conrad also hesitated, not really understanding what Lewis meant by
that. However, he was good at reading between the lines. It didn’t stop him from following Lewis’ lead
and answering, “Well, there’s no need for that anymore.”
“Then ask the hospital to stop the medication.”
“The hospital?” Conrad was puzzled. After thinking about it for a moment, he suddenly realized what
Lewis meant. “President Alvarez, are you referring to Mary Jinkins’ medication?
Lewis, inscrutable as ever, lit another cigarette without saying a word.
Conrad was also shrewd and immediately chimed in, “Oh, but President Alvarez, the doctor said that
she couldn’t stop taking the medication. If she stops, she won’t survive beyond more than half a
month.”
Josephine’s hand jolted at that, causing her to sign her name incorrectly.
