Chapter 990 Feigning Ignorance
Jenny started working at the hospital as usual. Although her condition was better, and she
wasn't as uncomfortable as the night before, she hadn’t fully recovered yet and still felt a
little dizzy. However, it didn't affect her much, and she still insisted on going to work and
consulting patients in the outpatient clinic.
"Next," she called out to the waiting area.
Shortly after, someone pushed the door open and entered. Jenny, who was typing on her
computer, didn't immediately look up to see who it was.
When she finished and looked up at the patient across from her, she was a little surprised.
"Miss York?" Jenny was puzzled when she saw that the patient was Alexandra.
Alexandra was evidently displeased, and there was a hostile look in her eyes as she stared
at Jenny. 'Hello, Dr. Walter," she greeted.
Jenny sensed Alexandra's unfriendliness and stared back at her for a few seconds. Then,
she asked, "What's wrong?"

Jenny frowned and leaned back in her chair. She pointed to the door and said, "Walk out
and turn left. The cardiology department is over there."
"Really? But only you can treat my illness, Dr. Walter," Alexandra replied. She didn't seem
to have any intention of leaving and continued to sit there, looking at Jenny with the same
unfriendly expression.
Jenny didn't understand what was up with her. She hadn't contacted Christopher at all, so
even if Alexandra wanted to hold someone accountable for her unhappy relationship with
her boyfriend, she shouldn't be looking for Jenny.
Thinking of the other patients waiting to see her outside, Jenny didn't want to waste any
time with Alexandra. "If you have something to say, please get to the point. Don't keep
the other patients waiting."
"Fine!" Alexandra spat with a nod. Then, she asked, "What did you say to Christopher?"
"What do you mean?" Jenny furrowed her brow, looking puzzled and not quite
understanding the meaning behind Alexandra's words.
"Are you feigning ignorance? After you left that day, Christopher broke up with me. Are
you sure it had nothing to do with you?" Alexandra accused.
She'd been cracking her head over the past few days about why Christopher would
suddenly break up with her. Why didn't he break up with her earlier if he didn't like her?
Why did he suddenly do it after meeting Jenny? She believed it must have something to do
with the woman.
"Christopher broke up with her?’ Jenny questioned internally. She was also puzzled about
the turn of events, but she quickly calmed down and said," You're overthinking it. On the
day of Harvey's funeral, I didn't say a word to Christopher at all, even when I left."
It was all thanks to Alexandra that Jenny couldn't offer her condolences to Christopher
properly. She, of all people, should remember that.
"Don't try to deceive me. You might have left at that time, but who knows? Maybe you've
been in contact with him after that." Alexandra was adamant Jenny had something to do

you met him on the day Mr. Spade passed away in the hospital. You must have said
something to him before I showed up!"
"Do you insist on blaming me?" Jenny countered with an icy expression. She wasn't a
pushover who would let others trample all over her.
"Everyone in Bardoff City knows he used to be smitten by you! The moment you give him
a hint and make him think he still has a chance with you, he'll break up with me."
Alexandra firmly believed that her speculation was reasonable.
Jenny nearly gave a mocking laugh out of annoyance upon hearing her words. She asked
somewhat exasperatedly, "Why would you think I was hinting at him? I'm not interested in
him at all. Why would I do that?"
"Who knows? Some women are like that. Even if they don't like the man, they won't let
him be with other women," Alexandra sneered disdainfully. She believed Jenny to be that
kind of woman. After all, there were always quite a few men around Jenny, constantly
waiting for her to spare them a glance.
Jenny didn't want to waste her time talking to Alexandra, nor did she want to explain
herself to the unreasonable woman. She pointed at the door and said, "Think whatever
you want. I don't feel like talking to you. I'm very busy, so please leave, or I'll call for
security."
