Chapter 970 You Better Not Repeat Those Words
Julian sighed and muttered, "Actually, I don't think handing the company over to Alec is a
bad idea. He's more capable than all of us, and with him managing Faust Group, we can
make more money each year. Isn't it good to earn money like that without working hard?"
He couldn’t understand why it was so hard for his father and the late Xavier to accept Alec
taking over the Faust family.
Before Yakov could even rebuke him, Isabelle, standing beside them, couldn't take it
anymore. "Shut up! Do you really think Alec is a good person? If we hand the family over
to him, are you sure we can survive?"
"Isabelle..."
"We won't force you to fight for the position of becoming the heir, but you better not
repeat those words again," Isabelle interrupted Julian and didn't want to hear him say
another word.
Julian murmured a perfunctory "Okay." It was unclear whether he’d really taken his sister’s

Yakov glanced at him and didn't say anything further.' Alright, let's go home."
Three days later, it was Harvey Spade's funeral. Jenny promised to come and pay her
respects to Harvey, and she
showed up at the cemetery as promised, holding some white roses. She followed the
crowd and placed the flowers by Harvey's coffin, then walked toward Christopher to offer
her condolences.
"I'm sorry for your loss. How are you holding up?"
"Thank you. I'm fine," Christopher replied. Over the past few days, while handling his
grandfather's funeral, he'd seen the true colors of everyone in the Spade family. He
wouldn't show any weakness in front of outsiders.
Jenny nodded and said nothing else as she moved over to the side.
Alexandra also came to pay her respects to Harvey, and she was now standing next to
Christopher. Although Christopher and Jenny hadn't said much to each other, and
everything seemed normal, she felt very uncomfortable. Perhaps it was because
Christopher had previously been very fond of Jenny, so when Alexandra saw her appear,
she felt a sense of danger.
Christopher wasn't in the mood to concern himself over his girlfriend's apprehension. After
everyone had finished paying their respects, he signaled for the burial to be carried out
and didn't show much emotion on his face.
By noon, most of the guests had already left. Jenny walked up to offer some words of
comfort before leaving herself. However, before she could even get close to Christopher,
she was intercepted by Alexandra.
"Miss Walter, Christopher isn't in a good mood today and may not have time to entertain
you. It's best if you just leave. If
Jenny raised an eyebrow, looking slightly amused. "Can you make decisions on behalf of
Christopher now? If I remember correctly, you haven't gotten married to him and become
one of the Spades yet."

that, Christopher might even think she was being rude.
"I'm just suggesting. After all, I don't want Christopher to be too tired," Alexandra
countered.
"I understand your concern for him. But as a guest, it's necessary for me to say goodbye
before leaving. Otherwise, wouldn't it make me seem rude?" Jenny asked.
Seeing Jenny's persistence, Alexandra couldn't help but ask, "Do you really just want to
say goodbye to Christopher, or is there something else on your mind?"
Jenny felt a bit frustrated. Were all women like this? As soon as other women talked to
their boyfriends, they would assume those women were interested in their boyfriends.
"Since you're Christopher's girlfriend, you should be familiar with his past, right?"
Alexandra's expression changed slightly, her displeasure becoming more evident. "I know
Christopher once pursued you, but that's in the past. Right now, I'm his girlfriend."
Jenny thought Christopher wouldn't be able to stand someone like Alexandra for long.
Of course, she would never say that out loud. Otherwise, Alexandra would probably pick a
fight with her on the spot.
