Chapter 9241 Shouldn't Have Assumed
Not seeing the need to worry further now that Vincent knew his boss had a plan in mind,
he changed the topic. "Well, sir. This is the info on the shares you wanted me to look up.
Unfortunately, most of them are reluctant to sell, n
Faust Group was still churning out dividends annually, so the shareholders wouldn't sell
their rights off that easily, even if Alec were to offer a great price.
"As expected." He didn't mind. Those shareholders would be scrambling to sell their
shares once something happened to Faust Group later. "What about those projects?’
Faust Group was a large company handled by an equally large family. Alec doubted all
their projects were acquired by clean hands. All he needed to do was do some digging for
dirt to come up.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtVincent nodded and handed Alec another sheaf of documents. "Many issues turned up for
two projects in particular. I've listed them out for you here, sir."
"Thank you. You can leave it here."
"Do you plan to use these to take down the other Fausts, sir? Wasn't your plan to take over
as heir instead?" Would there be a need to inherit the family if his boss planned to defeat
them now?
Alec huffed a quiet laugh, eyeing his assistant. "Do you think I'd be that careless?"
Vincent blinked in surprise, then shook his head. "No, sir. Apologies, I shouldn't have
assumed."
He should've trusted Alec's judgment from the start. After all, it's not like he hadn't borne
witness to how intelligent the man was when it came to these decisions.
"Go on then." Alec waved him off. He knew Vincent only worried because of how big a
threat the Fausts were.
But to Alec, they were nothing more than empty shells, long rotten within. Best to burn out
all the maggots inside before taking over as head of the family.
After Vincent left, Alec went back to work, but not before texting Jenny that he wouldn't be
back tonight. He asked her to eat dinner and get to bed early, but he never received a
response after.
Unbeknownst to him, Jenny hadn’t eaten the dinner he had sent due to the large portion
of food Evan had already made for her.
The man was currently washing the dishes in the sink while Jenny awkwardly scratched
her nose. "Now I really don't want to have you over anymore. What kind of guest cooks for
their host and even washes the dishes after?"
Evan didn't mind. "No need to be so polite. We're friends, no?"
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmJenny fidgeted at the side, wanting to help but finding no means to. "You'd make a good
husband and father, Evan."
Evan paused slightly. He smiled. "Really? That's the first time someone's said that to me."
"Really." Jenny nodded surely.
Based on her observation, it wasn't Evan's first time doing it. He likely cooked and cleaned
by himself too. To Jenny, it was a sure sign of a man who'd never let his wife and children
get the brunt of life.
"Why don't you consider being with a man like me, hm?" Evan teased all of a sudden.
Jenny's face instantly fell. "Evan-"
"Alright, I’m done with the dishes. I'll visit you another time. You won't shut me out then,
right?" Evan cut her off, not wanting to hear what might come out of her mouth next.
Jenny swallowed what she'd wanted to say. 'Of course not. We're family."
Upon hearing that, an upset expression flared across Evan's face before it quickly
disappeared.
