Chapter 488 Do You Feel Better?
Jenny was oblivious to what was on Derrick's mind; she would probably be speechless if she did.
The two of them walked to the hospital entrance. When Jenny realized Derrick intended to continue
following her, she became annoyed and said," Is there anything else? I'm a bit tired and want to go
back and rest. You should go back to your work too."
She thought she’d made herself very clear.
"I don’t have anything much going on at the moment. Since we're fellow alumni, I should treat you to a
meal while you're in Bardoff City," Derrick said with a smile, not realizing how slimy he appeared.
Jenny felt repulsed by his behavior but restrained herself from losing her temper. "That's not necessary.
Thanks for the offer, Derrick."
"It's nothing, really,’ he said, seemingly oblivious to her irritation. He stood in her way, showing no

Jenny's fists clenched, but in the end, she didn't throw a punch at him." He's a fellow university alum,’
she chanted to herself inwardly. She had to hold back, or the dean would probably nag her for lashing
out.
"Let's talk about it another day," Jenny replied dismissively. "I'm leaving now.’
Without another word, she moved past Derrick, hailed a taxi on the side of the road, and left quickly.
Watching her leave, Derrick felt a bit upset. Let alone Parrington, plenty of women chased after him in
Bardoff Hospital, and no one would treat him with such disrespect. But then, since Jenny didn't reject
him outrightly, it was possible she was still interested in him.
With that thought, Derrick felt much better. He had always believed that he was excellent, so how could
anyone not like him?
Jenny, who had already left, had no idea what was going on in Derrick's head. If she'd known, she
would have wanted to crack it open and see what rubbish he stored inside.
At the hotel, Jenny took a bath and lay in bed, feeling much of the tiredness dissipate from her body.
She couldn't help but think about what she had to do next. The Cruzes' matter was resolved, so she
needed to consider whether she should visit the Walters to look for her biological father.
She wasn't really interested in going back to the Walters, but she was extremely curious about what
had happened in the past and whether her mother was still alive. If she didn't figure those things out,
she felt like she would be bothered by them for the rest of her life.
Just then, her phone rang-it was Alec.
"Hi. Was the surgery successful?" Alec asked on the other end of the line.
"It went well. The surgery was a success, but whether Larry Cruz will wake up or not depends on him,"
Jenny replied.
Alec wasn't surprised by that. In his eyes, Jenny was always the most capable.

to hang up the call so soon. He wanted to hear Jenny's voice for a little longer.
"It's okay, but the food here still doesn't compare to Parrington," Jenny replied.
"Then come back soon, and I'll take you to eat some good food."
Jenny agreed, and the two fell into silence. After a moment, she asked,"
Have you been seeing a psychiatrist lately?"
"Yes, I have." Alec nodded. "Why are you suddenly asking?"
"Do you think it's effective? I mean, do you feel any better?"
Jenny couldn't sense any improvement in Alec. Although he was very kind and gentle toward her and
missed her all the time, she felt that it was abnormal. After all, Alec was a busy man and shouldn't have
so much time to spare for her.
