Chapter 1001 Who’s to Blame
Jenny lowered her head and took a while before she finally said, "I'm sorry." "Sorry?" Alec
sneered and wiped the corner of his eye as he said coldly," No need for that. You and I
have nothing to do with each other. Now, you can take care of whomever you want. I have
no right to interfere."
"He saved me..."
"Yes! He saved you! I damn well wish it was me who saved you at that time! H
Even if he had to spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair, Alec wished he was the one
who saved her. He rarely got angry, especially not in front of Jenny, but he couldn't hold
back that day.
Jenny had promised to take care of Evan, which basically meant she wouldn't be able to be
with him. He was already preparing to confess his feelings to her, but he didn't foresee
things would turn out that way.
After a long time, Jenny regained her composure and raised her head. "You need to calm
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtdown first. It might not stay this way forever."
They'd already contacted the best doctors. Perhaps, there was another way.
"I can't calm down!’ After he said that, Alec turned and left the ward.
Jenny didn't know that he'd contacted doctors and asked about Evan's condition. He knew
that it was almost impossible to cure him. Even if they found the best doctor, the chances
of curing him were very slim. Taking care of Evan for the rest of his life was almost a
foregone conclusion.
He hated it, but he didn't know who to blame. No one was at fault; the only one Alec could
blame was himself. If he had saved Jenny himself at that time.Jf he hadn't let her go to
work that morning...
Alec had never been as sad as he was now. Even when he watched his mother die in front
of him, he didn't shed a tear. But now, he was really downhearted.
When Vincent got a call from Jenny, he was stunned and froze right where he was.
"Miss Walter, are you saying you want me to check on Mr. Faust? Did something happen?"
Vincent didn't understand why she needed him to go and watch over Alec since they were
almost always together.
Jenny didn't know how to explain the situation to him. ’We had a disagreement, and he
left. Please go and check on him."
After Jenny ended the call, she got up to handle her discharge procedures.
Vincent looked at the phone in his hand, feeling utterly confused.
"Could Mr. Faust really have a disagreement with Miss Walter?" he wondered.
He then answered his question internally, thinking it wasn't likely. From what he knew,
Alec would do anything for Jenny. So how could they have a disagreement?
Although puzzled, Vincent put away his phone and prepared to go and find Alec.
At the bar, Paul watched as Alec lifted his glass and drank one glass after another as if he
were drinking his sorrows and life away. Paul felt a headache coming on as he watched
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmAlec drink. After he came to Bardoff City for so long, this was the first time Alec had
invited him to drink. He didn't expect the situation to be so serious.
"Come on, man. What happened?’ Paul grabbed Alec's glass, not letting him drink
anymore. If he kept drinking like that, his body wouldn't be able to withstand it.
Alec leaned back on the sofa and laughed lethargically. "What could happen? I just wanted
to drink with you for a bit. Why? Even you don't want to keep me company now?"
Paul was speechless. In no way could he agree with Alec that he was just" drinking for a
bit."
"Does this have something to do with Jenny?" Other than Jenny, he couldn't think of
anything else to make Alec drink so much.
Alec didn't say anything, but a hint of pain flashed in his eyes when he heard Paul mention
Jenny's name.
"Sure enough, he's like this because of Jenny,’ Paul thought.
He then sighed. "Did you fight with her?"
Alec didn't speak and lifted his glass to down another drink.
