Chapter 156: ????? Caden was at home, absorbed in work when Jerald's call came.
Alicia was lying on the couch next to him, preparing for her lessons. When she heard Jerald's voice, she discreetly moved to the balcony to give Caden sprivacy.
The balcony door was soundproof, ensuring that they would not disturb each other.
Alice settled back, hoping to concentrate on her preparations.
However, it wasn't long before his notes becdisorganized and chaotic.
His thoughts kept returning to the room.
Unable to resist the temptation, he took a look inside.
Although she couldn't hear the conversation, Alicia could see Caden's expression quite clearly.
His lips moved occasionally, indicating that he was responding with swords.
For the most part, his expression remained unchanged. However, after spending so much twith him, I could sense his displeasure.
It was clear that Jerald's words were especially harsh. Alicia was well acquainted with Jerald's temperament. No matter how successful Caden became, he always remained the unappreciated son in Jerald's eyes. True to form, Jerald was not content with scolding Caden, but resorted to physical violence. He hit Caden so hard that it seemed like he didn't care if he caused serious harm.
Alicia absentmindedly flipped through her book, but her attention returned to the room when she noticed that Caden had hung up the phone.
He seemed as calm as ever and quickly returned to his work.
Alice touched her nose, opened the door and entered the room.

I fiddled with a vase for a moment.
Then he looked at the bookshelf and glanced at its contents.
Then I filled a glass with water.
Caden remained deeply focused on his work, not even looking up.
Alice watched him in silence. She supposed it was nothing serious; if it was, he would have lost his temper by now.
One moment.
Why were you worried about his mood? You shouldn't care.
Feeling like an intruder, she began cutting fruit.
After taking a bite, he walked out and leaned against the wall to take a look at the desk, only to find that Caden had disappeared.
Alice felt puzzled. Where could he have gone? Just then, she felt a presence behind her.
"What are you looking for?" Caden's deep voice echoed.
She turned around, clearly displeased. "Can't you make snoise when you walk?" "Am I walking too quietly, or are you just too distracted to notice?" Caden asked nonchalantly as he picked up a piece of fruit and popped it into his mouth. "Why are you sneaking around?" "I'm not lurking," Alice replied.
Caden savored the sweet taste of mango as he picked Alicia up and placed her on his lap at his desk, inviting her to feed him.
Alice had grown accustomed to his ways, so she offered him piece after piece.
When Caden joined an auconference, his mouth quickly filled with fruit.
Before he could chew, Alice shoved another piece into her mouth, treating it like it was a factory assembly line.
Keeping his demeanor deadpan, Caden commented, "Aren't you just going to shove the whole plate in my mouth?" Alice was speechless.
When she noticed that her chin was stained with mango juice from her hasty feeding, she realized that she was feeding him too fast and decided to grab a piece for herself.
Caden had his hands full, so Alicia grabbed a tissue and wiped the juice off his chin.
Caden cocked his head.
Alice blinked and reminded him, "There's juice on the corner of your mouth." Caden turned off the microphone and looked at her. “You don't need a tissue. Just use your mouth." Alice felt a blush creep into her cheeks.
Although she initially refused, Caden put his arm around her waist, pulling her closer.
"Why not? Are you worried that your tongue might accidentally get in my mouth?" "Of course not! Do you think I lack self-control?" Alice replied immediately.
"Not exactly," Caden replied.
"It's good you should know that," Alice replied.
"You really have no self-control. Sometimes I don't even have to lift a finger. Just one look at you and you get nervous," Caden mocked.
Alice felt her cheeks heat up.
I whispered, "What are you talking about?" Caden gave her a smile.
Determined to prove that she was not that kind of person, Alice acted quickly.

Caden stopped mocking and turned up the volof the meeting.
Alice was puzzled when she heard someone speaking.
"When did the meeting start?" Caden looked at her and replied, "It started when I brought you here." Alice instinctively covered her mouth.
"Have you heard everything we said before?" she asked, looking him m hereve straight in her eyes. Caden chuckled, hiding the fact that he had muted his microphone. "Yeah." Feeling mortified, Alice tried to escape.
Caden didn't let her go, though. I have placed her between the desk and his chest. "Keep feeding me. There's still fruit on the plate." Unable to resist, Alice playfully punched him and whispered, "Letgo!" Caden replied, "If you don't feed me, I'll have you right here." Alice was speechless.
I couldn't believe he would make such a bold statement in front of his employees. Still, I knew he was capable of doing such extravagant things.
Reluctantly, she agreed.
As Caden ate, she turned the microphone back on in front of her.
Alice was once again speechless.
With a determined expression, she shoved a large piece of fruit into her mouth.
Caden growled, pausing momentarily to stop himself from choking.
Hearing the noise, someone asked worriedly, "Mr. Ward, are you okay?"
