Chapter 1914
The business standoff had lasted a month when finally, someone buckled-not Bryson, but Brodie of the Moreno
Group.
Despite forming alliances with several major business enterprises, the Moreno Group found itself under
significant pressure as the Mitchell Group aggressively squeezed the market.
This relentless strategy left the Moreno Group floundering.
As losses mounted, continuing the financial bleed becuntenable.
Several key partners, witnessing the ongoing financial drain, withdrew from the alliance, exacerbating the
Moreno Group's challenges even further.
Brodie, seeking aid, visited the Garzas’ residence, hoping to speak with Mark but encountered only Merlin.
“Grandpa’s health has declined.
He’s entrusted most of the family affairs tonow.
If you need to discuss anything, Mr.
Moreno, I'm here to listen,” Merlin informed him.
He gracefully poured a cup of coffee and slid it across the table to Brodie.

Moreno, please enjoy scoffee.
As he sipped, Brodie inquired, “How's your grandpa’s health these days?”
“He’s getting old, which comes with its ailments.
But don’t be concerned, Mr.
Moreno,” Merlin reassured.
Observing Merlin in his wheelchair, Brodie asked, “Your legs, Mr.
Garza-there’s no chance of recovery?”
“It’s a childhood ailment, unlikely to improve,” Merlin responded, his tone accepting yet cheerful.
“I do envy you sometimes, Mr.
Moreno, for your ability to travel freely.
The pleasantries giving way, Brodie shifted gears.
“Mr.
Garza, you do realize why I'm here, don’t you?”
Merlin’s smile was nonchalant as he replied, “I must admit, | don’t.
Please, feel free to speak your mind.
“Okay.
” Brodie’s tone lightened suddenly, a smile hinting at deeper schemes.
“Both our families were shareholders in Enchantment Casino once, we know each other well.
I believe we can collaborate.
Merlin appeared puzzled by the proposition, his brow furrowing.
“Collaborate? What exactly are you suggesting?”
Brodie’s eyes narrowed, a glint of cunning briefly crossing his gaze.
“I'm proposing a partnership with the Garza Group to take down the Mitchell Group.
He was straightforward about his intentions.
“I assyou wouldn't object, given the recent troubles Bryson and Hannah have caused your family.
“So that’s why you're here,” Merlin murmured, glancing down at his coffee before meeting Brodie’s eyes again.
“Mr.
Moreno, you're looking in the wrong direction.
You should speak with my uncle.

Given his history with them, he'd likely be eager to collaborate.
Brodie knew, however, that Mathews, despite being the ideal candidate, had seen his influence wane after
recent events.
Now, aligning with Mathews might prove more of a hindrance than a help.
Brodie was not about to make such an error.
Raising an eyebrow, Brodie pressed, “Mr.
Garza, are you saying you don’t wish to work with me?”
Merlin offered Brodie a gentle smile.
“Trouble is what | fear most, yet | find myself without options.
My grandfather's health is deteriorating, and the responsibility of leading the Garza Group has fallen to me,
albeit reluctantly.
I've always aimed to be kind-hearted.
You're askingto stir conflict, something I’m not inclined to do.

| prefer to remain neutral in this situation-I’'m not interested in assisting or antagonizing anyone.
