Within moments, the monk had already killed a few hundreds corpse king birds.
When the rest of the corpse king birds saw what happened, they were all terrified. They flew away in an instant.
The place becquiet again.
"Let's go," said the monk to Austin and Brady.
The two immediately followed.
When they were about to go, a series of creepy laughter resounded the whole space all of a sudden. It was coming from the
mountain nearby.
The laughter sounded very challenging.
"Get out!" shouted the monk.
He was wearing a stern face as he looked at the direction of the mountain.
Suddenly, he turned into a black wind and pounced on that mountain without any warnings. He didn't even say anything to Austin
and Brady.
The two men were shocked by the scene that unfolded before their eyes.
Then they saw a humanoid creature with long black hair spreading all over its body on the top of the mountain. It flashed and
vanished in an instant.
A few moments later, the monk cback to where Austin and Brady were.
"What happened, sir?" asked Austin to the monk.
His voice was full of respect.
"Someone is hiding in the dark. He used the corpse king birds to attack us," replied the monk.
"| tried to catch him but unfortunately, he was able to escape," he added.
He then urged Austin and Brady to keep going.
Austin was in great shock upon hearing what the monk had said.
‘Someone controlled the corpse king birds to attack us? The corpse king birds are as powerful as cultivators at the Heavenly Grotto
Realm. | didn't know that there is someone more powerful than them. Since he was able to control the corpse king birds, he must
really be strong, ' thought Austin inwardly.
He was deeply absorbed in his thoughts.
He was trying to imagine that creature who was able to control the powerful corpse king birds. He couldn't imagine how powerful
he would be.
"I think exploring this place is a huge mistake. This seems to be a suicidal task," said Austin to Brady.
He communicated with Brady through his spiritual sense.
"I think so too."
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtBrady nodded in agreement.
The two of them were walking behind the monk. As they looked at him, his golden robe was fluttering against the wind and his long
sleeves were floating in the air. He looked like he was just having a sightseeing leisurely. However, his speed was astonishingly
fast.
Based on their observation, the monk seemed to be performing senchantments. Austin and Brady were mesmerized as they
watched him taking a small step at a time. Before they could know it, he was already thousands of meters away from them.
Austin and Brady moved as fast as they could to keep up with him. To their relief, it only took them a few seconds to get close to
the monk every the took a step.
But Austin was the slowest among the three of them.
If Brady hadn't helped him from tto time, he would have already lost them.
Finally, the three of them flew over a big black mountain and reached a mysterious place which was being shrouded by a black
mist.
Among the black mountains in front of them, they had spotted a valley. There was a very calm lake on the surface of the valley.
At this point, the sunset tinted the sky red. It added a layer of golden color to the surface of the lake.
"Wow, there are so many intelligent semi-omnipotent herbs!" exclaimed Austin. He pointed at the turtles in the lake.
There were dozens of turtles slowly moving and playing with each other. Each turtle was emitting a spiritual energy. The ray of the
sun that was gradually setting down shone on the back of the turtles making their shells glow.
An intoxicating fragrance of herbs floated from the lake and filled their noses.
"Oh my god! Dozens of intelligent semi-omnipotent herbs are here!"
Austin's eyes lit up. He seemed to be drooling in excitement.
"Sir, is it safe to get these semi-omnipotent herbs?"
Austin asked the monk.
At that moment, the monk also stopped moving and stared at the lake. It was as if he was thinking of something.
All of a sudden, the calm lake becupset. Out of the blue, a loud sound resounded and waves soared into the sky.
The water split and a figure showed up at the middle.
It was a humanoid creature with white hair and pale skin. It looked like a bloodless zombie.
The humanoid creature immediately attacked Austin, Brady, and the monk.
Its claws kept enlarging and covered the sky and the sun in an instant.
The monk reacted fast enough. With a wave of his sleeve, he retreated quickly together with Austin and Brady.
"What is that?" asked Austin in astonishment.
He couldn't take his eyes away from the humanoid creature while they were moving backward.
"That's an intelligent corpse. It is extremely terrifying," replied the monk in a low voice. "That intelligent corpse seems to be
guarding this place," he added.
Austin was more awed.
Whoosh!
The pale intelligent corpse gushed out of the water and flew towards them in a rather fast speed.
The monk immediately waved his sleeve again to send Austin and Brady far away and keep them in a safe place.
After making sure that Austin and Brady were in a safe place, he dashed back towards the white corpse.
In an instant, a fierce battle broke out between the monk and the intelligent corpse.
After a while, the monk pointed at the corpse.
A blue light shot out of his fingertips and hit the space between the eyebrows of the corpse.
The corpse immediately froze and couldn't move even a bit.
"That's great!" both Austin and Brady exclaimed.
They were both relieved after seeing what the monk had done.
However, the lake started to tremble violently again. Then the sound of moving chains was suddenly heard.
There were screepy creatures in the lake.
Austin, Brady and the monk held their breaths as they stared at the lake. Another three intelligent corpses rushed out of the water.
They were also white just like the first one.
At the bottom of the lake, a huge shadow appeared. The three of them took a closer look and they found out that it was an iron
carriage with iron chains. The sight sent chills down their spines.
'I think the four intelligent corpses are the ones carrying that iron carriage. Whatever inside that carriage, how powerful can it be?"
Austin and Brady had the sthought. They were absolutely scared to the core.
Splash!
The water of the lake churned violently. The dozens of turtles suddenly disappeared.
They all saw that the iron carriage was moving towards the surface of the lake slowly.
Whoosh!
However, the monk was not only powerful but also brave. So instead of stepping back, he rushed above the lake.
In an instant, the monk had already started to fight with the three intelligent corpses.
A dozen rounds of fierce battle took place.
Afterwards, the monk pointed at the corpses again. Three streaks of blue light instantly appeared and froze the three intelligent
corpses.
After making sure that the four intelligent corpses were all immobilized, he stared at the depths of the lake and recited some
chant.
A tremendous power followed and calmed down the lake. The black iron carriage shook several times and eventually froze in the

Austin and Brady were terrified by the scene. Now they had fully realized that the Land of Life-and-death was full of dangerous
creatures.
They were just fortunate enough to have run into the monk and he agreed to help them find the Reincarnate Lotus. If it hadn't
been for the monk, the two of them would have already been dead.
A blood-curdling sneer was heard from the inside of the iron carriage.
Then it slowly sank into the water.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
A burst of black fog rushed up from the bottom of the lake and surrounded the four frozen intelligent corpses. They then
disappeared with the black fog.
"Let's go. We are close to where the Reincarnate Lotus is," said the monk.
He stared at the lake for a little while before he led Austin and Brady to move forward.
Upon hearing the monk, Austin and Brady immediately pulled themselves together.
Then they quietly followed the monk to where the Reincarnate Lotus was.
'We are finally getting closer to the Reincarnate Lotus, ' thought Austin and Brady in excitement.
