"Oh! It's you. You're that Earth Hermit guy we saw last time!"
Numerous top cultivators were present and they recognized Earth Hermit the second he made his appearance. He wasn't exactly
the sort of person one would forget easily.
"Yeah, it's me,"
the old man responded in a calm tone, the one as simple as the declaration he was making.
"Who is this brat to you, Earth Hermit? Why are you interfering in this matter directly?" the reclusive elder of the Ji Clan asked with
his gaze fixated at the old man.
His tone was also calm, but there was a dash of fear in his eyes.
He was clearly aware that Earth Hermit was far more powerful than him and he couldn't take on the guy alone.
"He is just a friend of mine. We have a lot in common and | enjoy his company every now and then.
That means, if you want to bully him, you'll need to get pastfirst,"
the Earth Hermit replied, rolling his eyes at him as if he had asked a very preposterous question.
"Earth Hermit! From what we recall, the last twe met, you teamed up with Austin and stole the Purple Immortal's coffin.
That was wrong of you and you didn't have a right to do that.
So now, hand over those treasures you got from inside the coffin and we'll call us even and square," the holy lord of the
Rudimentary Holy Land cut in abruptly.
He gazed at Earth Hermit with a menacing look in his eyes.
"He's right.
| bet you still carry those treasures around with you. They're not yours.
Hand them over!" Another reclusive elder of the holy land followed suite as he walked up to the Earth Hermit.
The prospect of getting back their lost treasures thrilled the rest of the top cultivators. They immediately drew closer to the Earth
Hermit in case he decided to flee.
To be honest, anyone would have lost all sense had the treasures of the Purple Immortal been offered to him. The collection which
had been hidden inside the Purple Immortal's coffin might even include everything he had acquired in his lifetime. It might even
contain the method to reach the Immortal Transforming Realm.
Every single cultivator who knew of that realm dreamt of becoming a master of it, and was ready to do whatever it took even if it
meant certain death.
It had been a long, long tin the East Mainland since anyone had reached the Immortal Transforming Realm. Whoever did reach
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtit today would be considered a legend.
Masters of the Immortal Transforming Realm simply did not exist in the East Mainland now.
It was a lifetpursuit of the cultivators over here to reach this realm somehow, anyhow.
The Earth Hermit, on the other hand, laughed out loud at the prospect.
"You know what? | was extremely lucky to have acquired the treasures of a great master. They are not your property either, even if
they are not mine. So even if | took them with me, why would | give them to you? Are you out of your mind?" he retorted.
"Earth Hermit, you talk like you have another choice," the reclusive elder of the Vasteras Holy Land chimed in.
His tone and sentence was extremely suggestive of the threat that loomed over the Earth Hermit's head if he didn't comply.
"Guys! Let's just attack him. There's no point arguing with him; the old man is stubborn as a nail," the holy lord of the Rudimentary
Holy Land cut in and took a step forward.
An overwhelming amount of vital energy emerged out from his body and began to roll violently around him.
Within seconds, the rushing energy tornado morphed itself into a huge dragon which began to glow with a bright light.
The dragon then flew towards the Earth Hermit. At the stime, an overbearing power cout of it, causing a powerful boom.
"lI am not afraid of you,"
the Earth Hermit remarked in a calm and determined manner.
The moment those words cout of his mouth, his attack begun.
Flames gushing out from his body rose into the air and reached at least a few hundred meters high, illuminating the entire sky
around them with a ghostly purple aura.
"Ha-ha. | know you all are curious about the martial arts skills | got from the Purple Immortal's coffin. Letshow them to you.
You'll really like them."
The Earth Hermit sneered.
He was now completely enveloped in the purple magic fire which was swaying dangerously in the wind.
In a split second, the purple magic fire rushed towards the dragon and instead of fire feeding energy, it completely destroyed the
dragon.
Somehow, the flames had managed to win over energy instead of merging with it.
"He is using the legendary Purple Fire Formula," the holy lord of the Rudimentary Holy Land exclaimed in a shocked tone. He had
been forced to take a step backwards by the thunderous explosion just now.
There was visible fear on his face.
'Huh! The old man really did manage to learn a lot of powerful martial arts skills that the Purple Immortal left behind!" Austin
thought to himself in an amused tone.
'So | wonder how it was! Was the Purple Immortals best martial skills hidden in the blood in that coffin?’
"He did get his hands on the Purple Immortal's personal martial skills and is using one of them now. He has becstronger after
doing that and | can't stop him on my own.
Let's attack him together,"
the holy lord of the Rudimentary Holy Land shouted towards the other top cultivators.
The remaining masters surrounded the Earth Hermit immediately. It was tto attack him head on altogether.
The prospect of gaining the Purple Immortal's lifetcollection was so attractive that they were ready to snatch it away from the
Earth Hermit at any cost.
Entranced by the treasures of the Purple Immortal, they willingly obeyed the holy lord without asking questions.
These were remarkable cultivators and were considered to be extremely powerful. In unison, they began making a move against
their common enemy.
The holy lord of the Arcane Holy Land was the first to attack in a rather comic way. He patted his waist, and a colorful, glazed
pagoda cout of his body like a jack-in-the-box.
It soared into the sky and grew bigger and bigger every second. Every single ounce of its power was directed towards the Earth
Hermit and Austin.
At the stime, the reclusive elder of the Clan waved his hand and darkness devoured the whole place. The space was pitch-
black and nothing could be seen anymore.
In that darkness, countless luminous skeletons appeared and began trying to hunt down the duo.
In fact, even the senior reclusive elder of the Vasteras Holy Land did not just stand by and watch. He began his own method of
attack.
As if by telepathy, golden colored light turned up out of thin air and filled the entire space behind him in a flash. In that light, an
even more intense golden statue of Buddha appeared out of thin air.
The cultivators were clearly using the best of their martial arts skills to attack the Earth Hermit. But it didn't seem to be enough.
The powers released by those masters shook the sky and earth, and the heavens rumbled and the earth cracked under its force as
if the world was going to collapse.
Despite that, the Earth Hermit didn't seem afraid.
In fact, one could imagine the power of this attack from this: the disciples of all the sects were still tens of thousands of miles away
from the mine.
Not a single one of them had the nerve to even remain on the battlefield where this incredibly powerful war was raging on.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm
They ran away, and they even took the miners with them.
The mine workers had been hired by the sects and their job was to mine, and nothing more. Trouble was, if they got killed, another
batch of workers would have to be hired. If that happened, it would cause wastage of tand money.
"You can't scarewith your little tricks, puny cultivators," the Earth Hermit bellowed at those outstanding cultivators over the
intense battle, showing no signs of panic.
Instead of scomplex trick, he simply pointed at his enemies, and a formidable power enveloped the whole of space around
him. This power morphed itself into hundreds of purples chains in a second.
Each chain was bound with slaw of nature and could utilize the power of that particular law. It allowed the Earth Hermit to stay
unharmed.
These chains burnt with a wild fire and wrapped the Earth Hermit and Austin to protect them from the attacks of the cultivators.
So even though they weren't attacking the cultivators just yet, they didn't get hurt either.
The purple chains moved around the two of them in a fixed, mysterious trajectory and seemed to always collide with the opposing
powers.
Even the most powerful cultivators were taken aback by this scene. This was beyond their imagination.
‘Earth Hermit is scary good. He can easily withstand our attacks, ' they remarked, startled by their enemy's strength.
"Surprising! You have mastered the laws of nature and have learned how to use their power.
You are much stronger than you were before.
| am sure that the treasures you stole from the Purple Immortal's coffin take the credit for your rapid progress. That's not a
problem. It's not going to help you.
You can't get away,"
the holy lord of the Rudimentary Holy Land declared with a livid face.
So many top cultivators had been working together to attack Earth Hermit, but they still were unable to get the upper hand. This
was, frankly, embarrassing.
To get his pride back, the holy lord of the Rudimentary Holy Land who didn't have a choice and in his desperation, resorted to his
secret weapon. He extended his hand in the air, and a jade bracelet materialized over his palm.
All of a sudden, a terrifying, and unbeatable power began to roar from the sky. The force was abstract and could not be seen. But
even feeling its effects was a truly fearsfeeling.
"That is the ultimate magical treasure!" the Earth Hermit exclaimed in an astonished tone.
The composed, calm look suddenly vanished from his face and deep fear took its place.
"Brat, we're done for. | honestly didn't expect the holy lord of the Rudimentary Holy Land to bring their ultimate magical treasure
here. There's no stopping that thing!"
the Earth Hermit desperately called out to Austin through his spiritual sense.
