“Come on, I want to see her!” Cas is taking a stu pid amount of time cleaning himself up in the shower,

he woke up complaining about wet pillows.

“I’m coming, calm down. It’s not like Selena is going to vanish.” I jump from the bed as soon as Cas

comes walking through the bathroom door, at least he’s dressed so I’m just waiting on him drying his

hair.

“You need a shave.” I tell him as I run my hand across his stubble covered chin, I laugh when he goes

to turn back to the bathroom, “not right now, please!” He just smirks at me before dropping the towel on

the chair and leaning down to place a kiss on my nose.

“Come on then.” He’s acting all cool but I know he’s excited to see the baby too, Ghost has told me

how excited Storm is about seeing the baby. Cas leads us through the basement and up the stairs, the

lounge is filled with Pack who are eating food which is really nice to see.

“Hey everyone.” I call as Cas pulls me through the lounge, some wave, while others just smile at me.

It’s nice to be able to speak to the Pack and not feel like an outsider, I’m not sure when it changed but

it’s like a switch flicked inside of me and I finally see the Pack for who they

are.

“See we aren’t late, she’s not even here yet.” I actually scowl at Cas as he leads me over to one of the

beds and lins me onto it.

“Where is she? I really want to see her.” Cas smiles at me as he places

a hand on my little pooch, it’s not super noticeable yet but it’s definitely

there.

“It could be a boy you know.” I shrug my shoulders, truth is, I couldn’t care less if it’s a boy or a girl. As

long as they are healthy and loved, I just have this feeling it’s a little girl.

“I know but I really do think it’s a girl.” It’s hard to explain, I’ve never known anyone who is pregnant so I

don’t know how hard I can rely on these feelings inside of me.

“Cas, you got a minute?” I look past Cas to see Rowan coming into the office with Selena walking

behind him. Both of them have changed since I last saw them. Selena is in her blue scrubs, her hair is

tied back, she looks fresh faced but still has this aura of sadness about her.

“I told you, it can wait. I want to measure the pup and check on Eva.” Rowan is shaking his head as he

gives Cas a strange look.

“Does Cas need to be here? Maybe I can talk to him while you and Eva do the pup thing.” Cas actually

looks back at Rowan as if he has grown three new heads.

“I’m not leaving, what’s going on?” Rowan just shakes his head and crosses his arms over his chest.

“It’s fine, just hurry up babe.” Keeping my eyes on Rowan I lay back on the bed and lift my top to show

my stomach. I’m not sure what’s going on but it must be important if Rowan wants Cas to miss the

second scan of our pup.

“Alright, according to Doctor Lee we should be able to see the sex today. Ready?” I nod my head at

Selena as she squirts the cold liquid on my stomach, I grab Cas’s hand as he steps closer to the bed.

Selena starts to move the little white wand thing across my stomach as me and Cas both look at the

screen on the monitor. Selena presses some

buttons and then I see my baby for the first time, it’s a black and white. bundle but I see it. Curled up

and facing away from us, there on the screen is our baby.

“Oh my Goddess.” I whisper as I feel tears start to form. “Cas she’s really in there.” I look up at Cas to

see him smiling and constantly swallowing. I clutch his hand tighter as he lifts my hand up to his mouth

and places a kiss on my knuckles.

“There he is. Goddess, he’s so big already.” Cas is whispering as I watch Rowan move closer, he

seems to be looking at the screen too. It guess even stressed Beta’s are not immune to new babies.

“Alright, pup has their back to us so I don’t think I’m going to be able to get the sex today but we can try

again another day.” I’m not going to lie I’m a little disappointed, I really wanted to prove Cas wrong

which is probably a little juvenile of me.

“Is that normal?” Cas leans forward as Selena presses more buttons, “he smells alright.” Selena

shakes her head as Cas starts to sniff over my stomach.

“The pup is fine, sometimes they like to curl up so it’s not unusual for them to be in this position. They

are measuring at the right size from what Doctor Lee told me.” Selena suddenly goes quiet as she

starts clicking buttons and pressing the wand harder into my stomach. Tension fills the room as we all

watch Selena, her back is too me so I can’t see her face but I can tell something isn’t right.

“Selena?” Cas looks down at me and pats my hand as Selena ignores me. “Selena, you’re worrying

me.” I bring my other hand over to the one she has on the wand and squeeze it.

“It’s nothing to worry about,” Selena turns back to me and takes the wand off my stomach. “Have you

had any bleeding or cramping?” I

shake my head no as Cas’s hand tightens in mine.

“What’s wrong Selena?” Cas sounds as worried as I suddenly feel, Selena quickly wipes my stomach

and then pulls down my top.

“It’s nothing major, there are some dark spots on your uterus which could be signs of blood. Now some

bleeding is perfectly normal during pregnancy but if you get anything more than a few spots you need

to tell me as soon as possible.” I nod my head as Cas helps me sit up, “I want to air on the side of

caution as well, no more shifting until I give you the all clear. There is no point in putting more stress on

your body than needed.” I nod my head again like I’m in a trance, placing my hand on my stomach I

lean forward and rest my forehead on Cas’s chest.

“Eva and the pup, they are alright though?” Cas’s voice vibrates. through his chest as he wraps his

arms around my back.

“Pup is measuring well, his heart rate is strong and Eva is doing well. I’ m not worried, I just want to

keep an eye on it. I took some measurements so when I do next week’s scan I can see if it changed.”

Selena places a hand on my back and rubs it up and down, “please don’t worry Eva, this could be

nothing. I just wouldn’t be doing my job if I didn’t keep an eye on it.” Swallowing I look up and smile at

her, I understand what she’s saying but I can’t stop the worry from flowing through me.

“Alpha Cas?” Francis’s voice has me looking up to see him and a warrior I haven’t seen before

standing at the doorway of the office.

“Not now.” Cas growls before rubbing my back as Selena starts putting her stuff away behind me.

“Beta. She’s here.” I look up to see the warrior I haven’t met before speaking to Rowan. Rowan shakes

his head before looking at me with

“Cas, Elder Iris just pulled up” Cas’s hands tighten around me as he sighs before placing a kiss on my

head

“Can’t even get a minute can we?” I look up at Cas to see the anger on his face, he can’t go out

meeting the Elder like this, it will put the old woman’s back up instantly

“It’s fine, we knew they were coming. Just don’t piss her off and we can get through this.” I look back at

Selena. “Selena will tell us when it’s time to worry right?” Selena quickly nods her head as I push on

Cas’s chest and slide from the bed. “Now shall we go greet this guest?” I put on a brave face. I’m

hoping it doesn’t look like I want to curl up in bed and ery because right now I want to run from the

room, not walk outside and greet an Elder.
