Millstone-sized bats burst one after another, filling the air with bloody mist.
Lin Xun had turned into a sharp sword that killed his way through the white bone ropeway. These creatures prevented him from charging at the highest speed, but he wasn’t slow either.
The Spiteful Blood Bats were nothing but ordinary, and their combat power was even on par with that of Niu Tuntian and Meng Lianqing.
But Lin Xun was able to kill his way out of their siege all by himself. If the experts of the Ziyao Camp saw this, they would be dumbfounded and in disbelief.
Lin Xun had not expected that as he rushed forth on the ropeway, hundreds and even thousands of Spiteful Blood Bats would emerge from the gray mist surrounding the area.
There was no end to them!
It was like an outbreak of monstrous beasts who filled the whole region with tragic and ear-piercing screams.
These creatures were already good at sonic attacks, so in a huge pack, their shrieks produced a deep impact that would have taken down any other cultivator.
But Lin Xun did not retreat a step.
With a series of rustling sounds, dense and brilliant Taixuan sword qi swept out from him and formed the Great Confinement Killer Sword Array.
The second the array operated, dozens of Spiteful Blood Bats were slaughtered!
What ensued was a shocking scene of blood and gore pouring down like a waterfall while Lin Xun calmly moved forth.
The shiny Broken Blade danced around under the control of his spirit sense and executed the Heavenly Yuan Six Slashes with shocking sharpness and murderous intent.
Meanwhile, the Nine Pure Abyss around Lin Xun was both an impressive means of defense and a crushing weapon.
In front of him was the array formed of Taixuan sword qi. They criss-crossed all the way forward with an unstoppable momentum!
At this moment, Lin Xun’s qi, spirit, and physical cultivation all operated together and erupted with a might that could startle even Saints.
This also showed how powerful the attacks of these Spiteful Blood Bats were because otherwise, Lin Xun wouldn’t have been forced to fight with all his power.
A while later, Lin Xun had killed his way to the end of the bone ropeway, which was the cliff wall of a majestic mountain. On the cliff wall, there was a crack big enough for people to walk through.
Seeing the crack, Lin Xun didn’t hesitate to rush over.
Although he wasn’t afraid of these red bats, their numbers were just as infinite no matter how many he had killed, and it was annoying.
But before Lin Xun could step on the other end of the ropeway, a bone mace suddenly flew out from the crack in the cliff wall and went straight toward him.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtIt was mercilessly fast, as if this was a long-planned strike that had been waiting for him to appear.
On top of that, the mace emitted a divine, boundless, and powerful aura.
At the critical moment, the misty black God Burning Wings appeared behind Lin Xun. His figure flashed, barely avoiding the mace without danger.
Meanwhile, Lin Xun finally got a good look at the attacker–The Dark Blood Magi Saint!
His withered figure was like a shadow as he stood on the path in the crack with an icy expression.
“You old scum again!” Lin Xun’s face sank.
He had been chased and hunted by the Dark Blood Magi Saint not long ago at Dao Observation Mountain, so how could he not recognize the old bastard?
“Hand over that pair of wings behind you, and I’ll allow you to pass.” The Dark Blood Magi Saint’s expression was stern and ruthless, and his eyes flashed with an intimidating gleam.
Lin Xun remembered that there had been sharp hissing sounds before he had cto this place.
Apparently, the Dark Blood Magi Saint had also triggered the Spiteful Blood Bats when he had crossed this bone ropeway.
“Old scum, you’ve clearly suffered sheavy injuries and had to flee here, but still have the guts to covet my treasure. How carefree of you,” laughed Lin Xun coldly.
A group of Spiteful Blood Bats swooped out, not allowing Lin Xun to be distracted by anything else. He had no choice but to fight them.
Seeing this, the Dark Blood Magi Saint sneered, “So this is what it means to die for riches. Brat, are you really refusing to exchange a treasure for your life when it’s already cto this point?”
The Dark Blood Magi Saint was fearless because he had already explored this place and figured that Lin Xun would be subjected to a steady stream of bat attacks as long as he remained on the bone ropeway.
And the only way out was under his control!
Behind the Dark Blood Magi Saint stood a man and a woman. The man looked handsome, but his complexion was pale, and he seemed to be shrouded in a shadow.
Meanwhile, the woman exuded an aura of pure light. With an absolutely stunning face and dignified and majestic bearing, she resembled a goddess.
They were the geniuses of the Magi Brute known as the Light and Dark Twins.
“He is the one who defeated Niu Tuntian, and killed Meng Lianqing and the others?” The man, named An Lingzhen, opened his mouth as he looked at Lin Xun with disgust.
“It naturally is him. He is not yet a Saint, but is able to cross the White Bone Ropeway by himself. His battle prowess is indeed terrifying,” commented the woman whose nwas Guang Fuqing, her eyes flickering coldly.
“Lord Magi Saint, quickly kill him. You must not let him live!” An Lingzhen’s face darkened as he sensed an unprecedented threat from Lin Xun that made his heart palpitate.
“Very well!” The Dark Blood Magi Saint nodded.
With a buzz, the bone mace once again hurled toward Lin Xun while booming with a terrifying power. Its speed was beyond what one could imagine, and its aura so destructive that the Spiteful Blood Bats in its way all burst into ashes.
Lin Xun took a deep breath, and his power erupted like never before as he slashed the Broken Blade horizontally.
In the sound of the collision, Lin Xun staggered backward over ten feet from the impact. He trembled all over and felt so uncomfortable that he wanted to cough up blood.
However, a light flashed in his eyes.
This was his first true fight after stepping into the ninth longevity stage, and his opponent was a True Saint. While the strike had been incredibly difficult, he had still managed to block it!
In the past, this was something that Lin Xun would never dare to imagine.
After all a True Saint and a False Saint were completely different existences. It was not as simple as saying that all people under the Saint stage were ants.
But he had really blocked an attack from a True Saint!
“What…?” An Lingzhen and Guang Fuqing were shocked to utter disbelief, finding what they had just seen to be unimaginable.
In the eyes of Saints, even longevity Kings were like ants. Yet, the strike of a True Saint had just been blocked head-on by an ant!
Who would dare to believe this?
The Dark Blood Magi Saint’s face sank. He felt humiliated and was infuriated. “Hmph! If I hadn’t been heavily wounded by that woman Zhao Xingye, do you think you would still be alive under my strike?”
As he spoke, he did not delay a second to attack again. The white bone mace shot across the sky, aiming for Lin Xun with a divine power.
Right at this moment, the God Burning Wings on Lin Xun’s back flashed. He vanished into thin air.
The next moment, he appeared before the Dark Blood Magi Saint.
In his palm, the Dao Immeasurable Bottle that looked like it was made of polished white jade appeared.
Although only a few inches in height, the mere sight of the bottle struck the Dark Blood Magi Saint with a sense of deadly threat and made his heart quiver.
Just as he wanted to dodge, a dazzling war spear shot out from the bottle.
This was something that Zhao Xingye had left for Lin Xun – a strike containing the full power of a Saint. After being boosted by the Dao Immeasurable Bottle, the power of this strike had doubled!
In this second that determined life or death, the Dark Blood Magi Saint roared, “Little scum, you too shall die!”
The terrifying impact stirred the clouds. As the shockwaves swept out, the whole region seemed to wail.
Strangely enough, however, neither the bone ropeway nor the nearby stone cliffs were damaged under this horrifying power!
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThe Dark Blood Magi Saint wasn’t so lucky as his withered shell was pierced through by the war spear and sent flying. A bitter, pained scream escaped from his lips.
Lin Xun was also sent flying from the collision like a kite with a broken string. He fell off the ropeway into the abyss below.
His figure quickly disappeared in the dense gray mist.
An Lingzhen and Guang Fuqing, who had been lucky enough to escape the disaster, froze on the spot in shock. Their blood ran cold as the scene just now nearly scared off their little souls.
Even more so, they couldn’t believe that the Dark Blood Magi Saint had actually been impaled and sent flying!
“This is bad! Quick, go check Lord Magi Saint!” An Lingzhen shuddered and rushed out.
If the Dark Blood Magi Saint was dead, then he and Guang Fuqing might not be able to move an inch in this menacing Mulberry Woodland.
Guang Fuqing stiffened as she also thought of this. She hurriedly chased after him.
The two spotted the mangled pieces of the Dark Blood Magi Saint. Only a wisp of his primordial spirit was left swaying in the air, looking miserable.
“Lord Magi Saint!”
The twins grieved. Even until this moment, they still couldn’t understand how Lin Xun was able to injure the Dark Blood Magi Saint. It was simply beyond everything they could ever imagine.
“That brat’s treasure is extraordinary. If not for this…I wouldn’t have suffered this level of injury.” The Dark Blood Magi Saint panted, his voice hoarse. The only thing left of him was this wisp of primordial spirit. His body had turned into pieces of blood and flesh all over the ground.
This filled him with unprecedented resentment. It was an utter humiliation that a mighty True Saint like him had been driven to this state by an ant.
“However, he was hit by my palm strike and fell into that abyss. He’ll definitely die!” said the Dark Blood Magi Saint through gritted teeth.
“It’s all good that he’s dead… Well deserved…” murmured An Lingzhen. He didn’t dare to imagine the nightmare that would occur if Lin Xun was allowed to live and grow.
The human youth could heavily wound a True Saint even though he himself wasn’t yet a Saint. Just thinking about it made one’s heart tremble.
“Lord Magi Saint, how is your injury?” asked Guang Fuqing worriedly.
“I won’t die.” The Dark Blood Magi Saint gnashed his teeth. “However, I need to meditate here for a period of time. You two helpkeep guard.”
“Yes.” An Lingzhen and Guang Fuqing nodded.
At the stime, Lin Xun continued to fall uncontrollably into the misty abyss. His mouth and nose were spewing blood while his consciousness blurred away.
The Dark Blood Magi Saint's desperate counter strike had severely injured him as well. Had it not been for his amazing physical strength, he wouldn’t have been able to survive it.
Out of instinct, Lin Xun tried to fly up, but a chill ran through his heart when he felt an invisible restrictive power in the huge abyss putting pressure all over him. This not only prevented him from struggling in any way but also forced him to keep sinking.
After an unknown time, a loud bang resounded along with the splashing of fetid mud as Lin Xun viciously fell into it.
The intense pain from the impact caused his vision to go black, and he almost fainted.
