Chapter 344

Leoric was stunned speechless, and so were his men. The room was so quiet that one could hear a pin

drop.

While Jeanne was one of the Seven Legends, her forces were nowhere close to being on Xanxus' level

before his fall from grace; Sunshine Casino alone was worth three Jeanne D'Arcs. Then again, such

power was what made Xanxus so full of himself, and why he had so unabashedly sent forth his men to

Cleapolis to infiltrate and seize Victoria's territory.

Presently, Leoric gulped loudly as he asked, "M-Mr. Nicholson, are you actually handing Sunshine

Casino over to us? It's a huge business, and even Jarett would drool over it!"

"Yeah, I don't think Jarett's going to come swooping in with a protest," Kingsley said calmly. "Jeanne

will officially be the new owner of this casino from now on." He clapped a hand on Leoric's shoulder,

then added, "Besides, with the northern side of Cleapolis so close by, you'd be the best person to

oversee operations here. Go back and tell Jeanne you'll be in charge of running the casino, got it?"

"I-I'll be in charge?" Leoric could hardly believe his own ears. He was going to be in charge of Sunshine

Casino, a place where he previously had neither right nor rank to step foot in! He must be dreaming, he

believed, but the pain that shot through his knees as he fell in front of Kingsley in overwhelming

gratitude and reverence assured him that this was real life.

"Thank you, Mr. Nicholson!" he said earnestly. "Thank you!"

"On your feet," Kingsley said. "There's no need to thank me. If you really want to show your gratitude,

then take care of the casino for Jeanne."

He was only being so generous to Leoric because he had helped Yvonne and Joshua in their time of

need. It was no small feat for a thug to reach out and help the less fortunate, which was a noble deed

and warranted praise. Kingsley was relieved that Victoria had Leoric as her right-hand man.

Leoric, on the other hand, did not think much of this and went on to bow his head. "Don't you worry, Mr.

Nicholson. I'll do anything Jeanne asks of me and I won't let her down!"

Exasperated by the man's extreme show of gratitude, Kingsley gave him a soft nudge with his foot and

said, "Okay, that's enough. Pack up and go back to Cleapolis. You're going to need reinforcements if

you want to take over the reins in Sunshine Casino, and a dozen of you here simply will not do."

"Yes, you're right, Mr. Nicholson. I'll go back to Cleapolis right away!" Leoric got to his feet, and his face

was so flushed that he looked like he was drunk. "Come on, boys, we've got to get back and tell

Jeanne the good news!"

Kingsley added before Leoric left, "If Jeanne asks, just tell her that I go by Nicholson, and that's all she

needs to know."

"Roger that!" Leoric grinned. "I've got you covered, Mr. Nicholson."

With that, he left his men here in the secret room to go through the loot and happily drove back to

Cleapolis, then made his way to Jeanne D'Arc as soon as he got to the city.

Jeanne D'Arc was a three-story building that featured Regency elements. From the outside, it looked

like a Georgian terrace house.

This was the Jeanne Gang's headquarters, the base from which Victoria ran her operations and

managed the affairs of the gang.

Granted, she neither was as powerful as Xanxus had been nor had an impressive casino as the main

headquarters. In fact, most of the gang was scattered throughout the bars and karaoke lounges in

Cleapolis, but at the center of all these joints was none other than Jeanne D'Arc.

While Leoric was pulling into the basement car park of the building, Victoria was lounging on the couch

in her office with her phone pressed to her ear.

She was twenty-five this year, just a couple of months younger than Serena, but the two girls could not

be more different.

Where Serena's alluring looks hid a cold and ruthless demeanor, Victoria had a decidedly more intrepid

nature, and her bold beauty matched it perfectly.

She lay on the couch wearing nothing more than an oversized white blouse, and her long legs were

clad in flesh-colored stockings. Thankfully for her, the blouse was long enough to cover the tops of her

thighs, preventing what would have otherwise been an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction, but at the

same time playing up an inevitably provocative appeal.
