Chapter 655

Watching the two figures walk hand in hand, he lost himself for a moment. He didn’t immediately drive away but

waited until those two figures disappeared from his sight. Then, he slowly closed his eyes, leaning against the back

of his seat.

“What’s wrong with me? When I saw the scene of Amelia and Aiden together, I unexpectedly felt warmth and

thought that Amelia is a good person, and I even hesitated for a moment about whether to fight for custody for a

moment,” he thought.

Although Amelia was a good mother to Aiden, Warren was adamant that his son should not be raised by her family.

If he had to point a finger, it was at Amelia’s father. He was the one who nearly brought the York family to their

knees, destroying them.

After a long time, Warren noticed Amelia riding her food cart out of the residential area. Her body looked thin and

frail, and it seemed as if she would fall at any moment as she rode that rudimentary

electric tricycle.

Just then, the electric tricycle came to a stop. Amelia lowered her head, clutching the upper right side of her

abdomen, and her body seemed to tremble slightly.

Warren frowned, opened the car door, and dashed over to the tricycle. It was only then that he noticed that

Amelia’s face was filled with pain. She was biting her lower lip tightly as if she were desperately trying to suppress

the pain.

“What’s wrong? Are you all right?” Warren asked, his tone filled with an unexpected concern.

“I-It’s nothing,” Amelia struggled to reply. She had not expected to feel the pain for the second time that day, and it

seemed even worse than the first.

When Warren heard that, he pursed his lips. The way she looked, it was clear she was not fine at all. “I’ll take you to

the hospital,” he said, preparing to lift her off the tricycle.

Amelia resisted, saying, “No need! Mr. York, I appreciate your concern. Besides, I do not have any spare cash for

medical treatment…”

Warren was on the verge of saying that he would cover the expenses, but the words stuck in his throat. “What am I

thinking? Was I about to offer to pay for her medical treatment just now?” he wondered.

He reasoned that the more miserable she appeared, the more satisfied he should be. After all, her father nearly

destroyed the York family, and now she had to bear the consequences.

“Don’t get ahead of yourself. There is no way I would be concerned about you. It makes no difference to me

whether or not you are alive. But the custody lawsuit hasn’t started yet, so don’t do anything foolish!” Warren

stated coldly. He was speaking to Amelia, but it was also a reminder to himself.

Warren was reminding himself not to care about Amelia.

Even though Amelia was still in pain, she could not help but laugh. Indeed, in Warren’s opinion, her very existence

was a sin.

After the pain had eased slightly, she took a deep breath and then looked at Warren. “Mr. York, rest assured that

even if I die one day, I will not die in front of you to bring you inconvenience. I just hope that, while the lawsuit is

ongoing, please don’t hurt Aiden.”

After saying that, Amelia started the electric tricycle again and drove past Warren.

Warren stared at the slowly disappearing electric tricycle and the figure riding on it with a grim expression.

His heart had inexplicably ached for a moment.

When she said the word “die,” it was as if an invisible whip lashed out at him mercilessly.

In the evening, Rosalie’s fork suddenly fell to the ground, and her complexion changed slightly.

“What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?” Jonathan became nervous instantly.

“It’s nothing. It’s just that my finger joints suddenly hurt a little,” Rosalie replied before asking a housekeeper for a

new fork.

The weather had recently turned colder. Her sensitive finger joints appeared to be affected by the frequent rain

and damp climate.

Jonathan kept his eyes on Rosalie’s fingers. “Is it really just a slight pain?”

“Of course.” Rosalie gave a light smile. “You know, whenever the weather turns cold and humid, my finger joints

start to ache. I will visit Mr. Sabatini tomorrow to have my hand examined.”

In actuality, Levi had recommended that she receive treatment for her hand once a week, but with everything that

had happened, combined with her pregnancy, she had stopped going for treatment. Rosalie wondered if Levi would

be upset with her when she visited him the next day.

“I’ll accompany you tomorrow,” Jonathan said.

“No need. You still have work to do. I can go by myself,” she replied.

“I’ll go with you,” he insisted.

Hearing that, Rosalie didn’t refuse anymore and continued to eat. The next moment, he suggested, “Let me feed

you.”

“Huh?” She was surprised.

“Your hand is hurting, right? I am pretty sure feeding yourself right now is inconvenient for you, so let me feed

you,” he said.

Even though she was in pain, it was not so severe that she could not hold a fork to pick up food. Ultimately, Rosalie

could not help but open her mouth slightly and accept Jonathan’s feeding after Jonathan took the fork away from

her hand.

In the dining room, Jonathan carefully fed Rosalie, even peeling the shrimp shells for her. He had never shown such

tenderness on his face to anyone else.

All of his affection was reserved for her.

The housekeepers standing by were also in shock. After all, they had never seen Jonathan feed anyone

before.

However, Jonathan was now serving Rosalie.

He was tenderly feeding her. It appeared as if she meant the world to him.

Although Jonathan had never said anything explicitly, anyone could see how much he loved Rosalie.

The next day, Jonathan took Rosalie to Levi’s clinic.

When Levi saw Rosalie and Jonathan, he raised an eyebrow and sighed inwardly.

Looking at the two of them walking in, Levi was well aware that Calvin no longer had a chance.

“You have not been here in a long time. I thought you wanted to cripple your own hand!” Levi scolded Rosalie

without mincing words.

Despite knowing that the man standing beside Rosalie was Jonathan, Strico’s all-powerful figure, Levi maintained his

usual demeanor and had no intention of changing it just because of Jonathan’s status. “I could not make it because

so much has happened during this time. I’m sorry,” Rosalie apologized.

‘It’s not me you should apologize to. It’s your own hand!” Levi retorted.

Rosalie understood that although Levi’s words might not be pleasant, they were well-intentioned. “Mr. Sabatini,

would it be harmful if I stopped treatment for my hand now and resumed it a year later?” she inquired.
